Vehicles less than 3 years old and with fewer than 36,000 miles are eligible for Honda Care® VSC Plans. Vehicles less than 1 year old and with fewer than 12,000 miles are eligible for Honda Care Maintenance™.

For the 1year 12000 miles, I think the "eligible" for maintenance means free of charge to any new car owner.
Add $2,000 to TMV for your approximate taxes and fees and you wind up with $34,404.
So it looks like your quote is about $1,700 below TMV and more like $3,000 off invoice, if my backward math is close.
Looks like an excellent price from here.
Hi Sean2000, this is an amazing deal. Could you tell me the name of the dealership?
Thank you!
Rik
I got the following quote from Honda dealer. What are your thoughts? Any input is appreciated.
Model: 2016 Odyssey EX-L
Sale Price: $31,500.00
Document fee: $0 -- waived they have a special going on right now. It used to be $499
Tax: 7% ( I live in Indiana)
Total price: $33,705.00
They said I could get a $1k off for Odyssey loyalty program, but I don't have 2006 or newer Odyssey.
Basically I'm asking what other "fee's" will attempt to tack on? Is this a good deal or should I negotiate more?
Thanks
Rik
So your quote looks good, well under invoice and TMV.
Other fees? Tell the dealer you are ready to buy and that you want to know the "out the door" number. Saying OTD is code for "give me a good bottom line number". Then you can compare that number with the $33,705 quote you think you have.
When you drill down to get TMV, there's a line item at the bottom that sets out the CPO target price. Here's a shortcut link or look for the What's My Car Worth tab up top.
General rule of thumb for an Odyssey is that a CPO one will be ~$1,000 more than the dealer retail price.
2016 Odyssey Touring Elite
Vehicle Price: $ 37,079.00
Processing Fee for Consumer Services: $ 499.00
Title Tax: $ 1,541.00
Dealer’s Business License Tax: $ 35.00
Purchaser’s Online Filing Fee: $ 10.00
Title Fee: $ 12.00
Less Trade-In (negative trade, we owe more than the traded in value) $ (884.00)
Total OTD $40,060.00
Effective OTD $39,176.00 (less $884) --> since we rolled over what we owe from our trade-in
What do you guys think?
This thread has been very helpful for my negotiation.
So your price is great, even after the inflated "Processing Fee for Consumer Services". Why don't they just call it extra profit?
I'm not a fan of those "free" extended warranties. I bet there's a lot of exclusions involved.
I've negotiated $40.1k OTD price, it was $40 less than that because I used The tag from my trade in in my new Odyssey.
It's better to ask more dealers in your area to compare. You can use the edmunds.com feature to send emails to many dealers and let them to compete.
In my purchase 2 weeks ago, the lowest price is about 1500$ below the others, which many dealer told me that was an impossible price. But I bought it at that price in a very close dealer, with not too much negotiation.
This is the model year end and wish every get a good deal. There are tons of Odyssey in dealers parking lot waiting to be moved.
The out of door price should be only the sum of this:
1. car price, included destination charge already.
2. local tax pay to gov
3. car license fee paid to DMV
4. a reasonable doc fee, $60-80.
In California, I still see the deal can be as low as INVOICE - $3000 for an Ody.
I bought my EX with INVOICE -$3500, brand new with only 5 miles on it.
I like this deal.
While I got a good deal, they will also make money from my traded-in car.
I'm happy overall. I dealt with a good salesperson and it was a smooth transaction, 0 downpayment, 0.9% apr.
i'm got 2 offers from the same dealer for a brand new 2016 honda odyssey elite.
1st option:
OTD: $40,856
Down: $5,000
Loan: $35,856
APR: 0.9% for 60 months
Payment: $676/month
2nd option:
OTD: $41,856
Down: $5,000
Loan: $36,856
APR: 0% for 60 months
Payment: $678/month
I want to ask that. How did they come up with these payments? (Not so good at math so
Example 2 is ZERO% interest, so just divide the loan amount by 60 payment and you get $614.27
Example 1 at 0.9% interest and $1000 less loan amount = $611.37
Not sure where they are coming up with the extra $65/mo. on either one.

Be very careful even to get the OTD total numbers. This dealer is cheating. You may complain them to Honda.
Every month you pay $65 more, in 6 years you will pay $65 X 60 = $3900 more than you should paid.
I think Honda is not going to play this kind of game, the dealer is bad.
$30,400 (including dest) + TTL before $750 dream garage rebate
$45,500 out the door with mud guards, wheel locks, 18" wheels, paint protection pacakge, theft protection and all season matts.
Did a 72 months finance with 5.09% (bad credit
what you guys think?
Base price + TTL is the best basis of comparison
TMV is quite a bit lower than I would have guessed before running the numbers.
TMV plus TTL would get you to around $34,880, assuming a 7.5% tax rate (that's using our fee schedule, which often seems wrong, but you can double-check that easily enough).
Throw in a reasonable doc fee and the target OTD to beat would be $35,000.
So you look like you're doing very well.
Can you give me dealer contact details?
Thanks,
Raj
What is your OTD for 2016 Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES? Can you send me dealer details?
Thanks,
Raj
Can you please send me dealer details?
Thanks,
Raj
Thanks for the information! Did you get any accessories like navigation or remote start? I'm looking to buy an EX-L this month. Enjoy your new Honda!
-Thanks
Matt
This is what I get for a 43085 zip for an EX-L with Nav:
Invoice - $35,680
MSRP - $38,950
TMV - $36,285
Going by the $1,014 "adjustment" we show for that zip, it sounds like your negotiations are going good. Must be a bit of a hot market.
Honda car sales in May were down 5% per the news blurbs out today. Maybe you can use that to scare up a few more bucks.
Good luck!
There seems to be no new supply of ODYs. That makes me think may be the production has stopped since the new model may be coming out soon.
