They already increased the cash back on the Odyssey's LX, SE, EX have $1,000 cash back and EX-L and higher have $1,250 cash back as well as financing 0.9% for up to 60 months.

Are the cash back offers dealer specific or do they apply to all the 2016 models? Is there a place we can check what the current cash back incentives? I am looking to buy an EX-L and would like to know any incentive available.

Thanks for pointing that out. I see that Honda Odyssey has upto 1250 cash incentive for dealers. Is that verified information? Can it be referenced when negotiating the OTD price with the dealer?

You can see incentives at Honda.com too. But neither Honda or Edmunds reports "dealer money". Some dealers will admit they get it, others won't and some will admit that they get it but will refuse to share it with buyers. Just have to ask and see what they say.

On the bright side, telling the dealer that you know there's hood money floating around tells them that you are an educated buyer and may help you cut to the chase and get you to their bottom line number faster.

If you scroll up, @ksmith has given the current dealer incentives for the Odyssey. I verify those are correct. They are dealer incentives, though. Use that knowledge when you negotiate your price. It isn't consumer cash back.

Also, the 0.9% APR for 60 months is valid, as well.

Does the Edmunds Price Promise account for the dealer incentives as well normally or can they be negotiated on top of it? I received an offer of 32,000 on EX-L based on it. The OTD comes to about 33800.

    Thanks
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
I'd compare your Price Promise number to the True Market Value number you can get by building your Odyssey here. Since TMV is an average, if most dealer are giving dealer cash to consumers, that will be reflected in a lower TMV.

The idea of using Price Promise is to get a fair price for you and a fair price for the dealer, and skip the hassle of negotiating.

If you like to haggle or are good at it, then you can usually beat TMV and Price Promise (depending on the dealer, your market, etc.).

    Final Price:$30,608.88
    State Tax:$992.12
    Title/Registration:$200
    Documentation Fee:$499
OTD:$32,300 (includes all season floor mats)

Thank you all for the purchase price postings, which helped with the negotiation.

I am in the market for a new 2016 EX-L RES
Recently sent some inquiries to get quotes. I had received a wide range with couple of really good ones. One in NJ and the other out of state.
Interestingly the Costco auto program quote came out worse than expected. Off by more than 2k.

I did see 1250 dealer incentive offered on the quotes listed explicitly.

Some ranges of what I have seen
    EX 27,600
    EXL 30,237 to 33500
    RES 31,650 to 35680
    NAV 36,100

    Costco
    RES 33410 (including 1250 discount)
EXL 32000 (inclusive of 1250 dealer incentive)

I will be going in person over the next day or 2 to finalize.
Some offers like extra 250 off are also flying around in mails.

In the market for 2016 Odyssey SE. The lowest quote I got so far is 28700 plus tax and fees. Is this a good deal. Thank you for your help in advance

Invoice is $31,530, MSRP is $34,400 and TMV is $30,768 (all numbers include destination).

So your $28,700 quote if very good - if my math is right, that's $2,830 off invoice and $762 below TMV for a Bay Area zip.

Lot of car for the buck - enjoy!

I just received a lease offer in Southern California for a 2016 Odyssey SE. $2,999 drive off (including: 1st payment, $0 security deposit, tax, license, and fees based on 8% tax rate) and $279/month lease with 12k miles/year. Does this sound too good to be true? MSRP is $34,400.

Hi all...I am in the market for Honda Odyssey Ex with Nav, in NJ...appreciate all suggestions for great deals & dealerships...thank
  • maverixmaverix Member Posts: 21
I highly recommend Autosport Honda. Found them to be very professional and courteous.
By far the best dealership in NJ, based on my experience shopping for myself and family for last several years(incl Toyota & Nissan dealerships).

I believe you meant EXL w/NAV right? I am not sure you get NAV in EX.

    Ok as for the prices,
    EX -27,380
    ExL - 30,327
    ExL RES - 31,637

NAV should be with in couple of hundreds of RES I suppose. Good Luck. Let me know if you need a contact from Autosport. I just have completed my 3rd purchase from them. Can match or better most quotes too.

got an EXL-Nav with remote start, wheel flaps for 36.6 in Akron, Ohio

took the service contract of 120,000 w/ no deductible for 2.3
Our last 2011 Odyssey had 140,00 mi. so thought it would be worth it
    Did we get taken?
  • sharkmama49sharkmama49 Member Posts: 22
    that was OTD
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Remote start and the flaps must be dealer installed items - I don't have MSRP or invoice for them.

Otherwise, invoice for the EX-L Nav is $35,680, MSRP is $38,950 and TMV is $36,091. What's your sales tax there - 7%?

Assuming ~$2,500 for taxes, that would make your selling price $34,100 or $1,500 below invoice. Call it $2,000 assuming the remote start and flaps go for $500.

I'm making a lot of assumptions but I think you did well. And if you got the $2,300 service contract in your OTD price too, then you blew the doors off.
  • arbargosarbargos Member Posts: 2
@prasanth1 When you used this did you get any other discounts? I live in AZ and can get to 29,700 but not 28,700. I called Dublin Honda in CA and they can't match your price.

Honda Care warranty can be found online for about half of $2300. Not sure if service contract above actually was for prepaid service or just extended warranty.
  • sharkmama49sharkmama49 Member Posts: 22
    Sorry I wasn't clear
    van 33,521
    doc fee 250
remote start was installed after market 499 didn't charge for flaps
    tax 6.5% 2,378
    title n tags 32
    OTD 36680

    financed through Honda 0.9%
service contract not included in OTD
    2300

just extended warranty which comes with roadside service for 3 cars in our household.
We never get the warranty but had some problems with our last Oddyssey that this would have helped with, so when we were asked we hadn't researched it and just said yes. I think we're getting old :D

Hi arbargos, I also live in AZ and have checked a few dealers, they don't seem to go lower than the truecar average, which is way higher than whatever posted in this forum, so did you get your odyssey ? how do you plan to get one from CA ?

We haven't gotten one yet. We aren't sure about the CA thing because it is complicated with registration/taxes. Our lowest OTD is 32,6** with a few dealer add-ons that we don't want. Base price 28,7**. This is for an SE 2016.
  • hitcherhitcher Member Posts: 3
Hi arbargos, 287xx for a SE isn't too bad compared to the price posted here for SE.. it looks to me that EXL might have larger discount. Did you have the quote for EXL ? btw, do you mind sharing the dealer information.. Cars in AZ is too expensive, and I really don't know why.. it is also an option for me to buy from CA... Thanks..

Just got EX-L, NO NAVI, NO-RES.
    MSRP: 36,950
    Discount: - 5,800
    ======================
    = 31,150
    Processing fee + 300
    ========================
    = 31,450

    plus + MD Tax (6%)
    + registration/title
    -----------------------------
    Nothing else.

So when you account for the 300 fee, the true net discount from MSRP is 5500,
which I think is pretty good. And this was HASSLE FREE, no stupid bickering back
    and forth.

Sports Honda in Silver Spring, MD.
    Salesman is Julius Crane.

Oh and I got the 0.9% 60 months deal too.

Sports Honda doesn't have the ripoff $1200 nitro filled tire and door edge guard dealer "protection packages" that so many metro DC dealers have.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    hi,

hmm, I went through a referal and that could have made the difference. But I was able to get quotes of 28995 from two other dealers in bay area and one of the members were able to get a price of 28800 from Larry Hopkins in Sunnyvale for SE. It could also be the fact that you are enquiring from AZ. I also bought the car at the end of the month and they might have had more inventory at that time. If you want I can check with them What is the benefit of buying a car from CA with its high sales tax?
  • maverixmaverix Member Posts: 21

Maverix.. can you please share the contact at auto sport honda.. i am in the market for EXL with RES.. and is the price quoted the Out the door price for NJ or how much would be approximate out the door price

    No not the OTD prices.
All the prices listed are simply vehicle price + TTL extra

Typically OTD is a bit misleading as State taxes, registration and fees differ. A 0.5% difference in sales tax itself leads to $160 diff (for a 32k price tag)
Dealers in NJ charge Destination charge usually. $880

So EXL with RES 32031 (incl destination) is what I paid
    registration 410(dmv)

    Total OTD - 35069

. All new purchases include 1 year of service free.

This 32k is 2500 below Costco invoice price and the dealer with that program said they cannot even come with in 2000 of what I paid.

    Autosport Honda in Bridgewater NJ.
Sales team - Damien and Mike Bailey (manager). Highly recommend them, for professinalism and best deals. No haggling and pushy sales people. NJ dealerships are notorious for bait and switch pricing too much beating around the bush.

For best Honda prices, check this site -- http://tellmethebest.com/honda.html

Based on my experience, the prices listed there (Tell Me The Best price) already include he destination charge. Last Sept in Columbus OH, I get best quote EX-L was $30,800 (include Dest charge), while the TellMeBest was at $30,600.

With Pacifica 2017 coming out now, I hope Odyssey prices would get hammered. just in time for me to pick one up next Month.

The sales guy I contacted via email was Brandon Jackson, but had to deal with Hadi Hamwi(manager) when I went in person as Brandon was out. If you are looking for an EX-L, I think they should be able to give it for $30K(if not cheaper) before TTL, with some extras like floor mats and trunk tray. Also, I read in a different forum that 2006 and newer odyssey owners can get a $1k credit towards down payment by proving ownership(no need to trade).

    Good Luck

I purchased 2016 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite from Autonation Honda Lewisville, TX. I got the base price @ 38410. With Title, Tax and Dealer Add ons, The OTD price is 41500. I traded in my 2013 CRV EX-L for $19K.

Hi - am in the market for a Honday Odyssey Ex-L w Nav in So Cal. I have read the earlier message. The lowest quote received OTD is $36548.63. Seems high. Tried five different dealership in the Orange County area. Open to suggestions. As need two vans can drive up to Nor Cal if need be as going to be there later this month. Thanks.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Well, you have what, 10+ % tax in SoCal? - anything is going to seem high. :)

What kind of selling price quotes are you getting (before taxes and all the various fees)?

TMV is $35,290 for a Beverly Hills zip (90210 is ingrained, lol).

Since that's an average, my guess is that your quote before the fees is well below invoice.
  • sean2000sean2000 Member Posts: 6
Finally pulled the trigger on EX-L in Greater Columbus OH area on April end at close to $30,100, with the Honda $1K loyalty program which requires me to take the Honda 0.9% APR loan and no penalty if I pay all after 3 months. Note that the $1K off comes off at the end of all costs/fees, i.e. cash back.

Could not wait any longer for the Chrysler Pacifica 2017 to pressure Odyssey 2016. My old odyssey is getting very close to the big maintenance package (timing belt etc), plus I am taking extended summer off soon. If I have newer Odyssey, would have waited till end of May~July, or even next year.

    Sale price: $31,100
    document fee: $250
    Tax: 7%
    Title fee: $34
    Total price: $33,578
    Minus loyalty money $1000
    Grand total = $32,578 OTD

Bought 2016 EX for < 27.5K$ range before TTL last weekend in Bay Area, CA.

This thread helps a lot. Thanks for the posting so I post my deal as to help others.

Try more dealers and let them to compete to cut the price. The quote range are quite different from different dealer and sale person.

They want to sale a 3year/36k mile service for $1300. I only accept $800 and they agreed. They still make money on this price. The first year 12000 mile service may already be covered by Honda Care. I'm not sure about this, just saw some info regarding Honda care on Honda.com.

I'm not sharing the dealer info here as I think you can get the deal from many dealers in San Francisco Bay Area.

Have fun to deal with dealers.

BTW, this is my 2nd Odyssey. I bought my 2000 Odyssey, which had 3 transmissions failed with 130K miles. I paid for 50% of one transmission replacement. Other than the transmission problem, I was happy with the old Ody. Wish the new 6 speed transmission is totally improved.
