Around here they want to stick you with a $1,500 "desert protection package". At least our local Honda dealer is no haggle with salaried sales people and they have a good rep overall. My neighbor got a Civic Hybrid last year and speaks highly of the dealer, but their deals aren't anything special.
After you narrowed down pricing with 3 dealers that are close what I would do is hold out till tomm. That's when the smart shopper buys . Call dealers bluff on pricing you will win.
If pricing is not that good like in other states or dealer accessories are rammed down your throat .
Work on getting more free accessories thrown into deal , 5 / 6 free oil changes , Window tint, Getting the 7 yr warranty for 800 bucks. Things like this added to your deal may separate a better deal from the rest .
The last 2 days are not frustrating . You started negotiating to early.
1- Get lowest pricing in your targeted area today and then tomm.
2- Close deal tomm. Make your lowest deal and forget about other states pricing unless your willing to go there and buy .

Emailing and calling the same dealers about there price the 2nd week / 3rd week of any month usually gets you nowhere. On the 11th hour you will have the upper hand and leverage.
That leverage starts today and ends Tomorrow.
All your best quotes will be good till tomm. night Build on them. Pit dealers against each other.
The 2nd sales quarter ends tomorrow night for all Car companies . Use this to your advantage. Dealers needing ending sales numbers will help you make a even better deal than you could imagine.
Good luck CRV buyers

price: $24.7k
otd: just under $27k
Used the Honda Code to get $750 added to my Deposit. Drove off the lot.
I got a call the next day, telling me that they tried to verify my Honda Code of $750 and that it is invalid/used. They tell me that I owe them $750.
Do they have any legal grounds? Looking for some guidance. Thanks.
What's the backstory on the code? Did you get it off Facebook or did someone give it to you?
Thanks for all the input and sharing your experiences. I was able to get a 2016 CR-V Touring AWD for $30,050 OTD (after Loyalty and DGC) yesterday with Nitrogen, wheel locks and pin stripe . I was able to combine Loyalty bonus and Dream Garage Code for $1750 as down payment.
$29,744.30 was the selling price before TTL, Loyalty and Dream Garage.
"The $750 Honda Dream Garage offer is available to individual bearing unique offer code. The offer code must be presented at the time of purchase. ... Nontransferable except to members of same household living at the same address – the proof of current common address must be presented at the dealership."
Some people will say that once the car is driven off the lot, the deal is done (but yo-yo deals still happen all the time).
Some will say that the dealer messed up by not checking the validity of the code with Honda before selling you the car. Honda has denied the coupon so now the dealer will have to eat the $750, unless they can get it back from you.
There's probably something in your contract about disputes, arbitration, etc.
One option would bebe to call the dealer and tell them you didn't know the fine print was an issue and that the dealer is really at fault for selling you the car without first checking on the code. If the dealer insists that they want the $750, tell them you will bring the car back and the dealer can unwind the deal.
Dealer's hate unwinding the deal (especially at month's end) so maybe at that point you and the dealer can agree to split the difference.
There's another thread about this issue over on SlickDeals.net.
If you click on @brian125 and look at his Profile, you'll find a ton of posts about Honda deals in your area, and lots of dealer names too.
My thinking is that $2,000 under invoice (i.e., $22k) would be a real good deal. Brian may suggest you hold out for $21,500.
Invoice and TMV on this trim are about the same, call it $26,500. So $23,500 would be great to my way of thinking. Whether the dealer needs "one more" sale to make quota today and will come down another $500 is the question. Otherwise, shoot, as long as the other fees are reasonable, you're really in the driver's seat on that quote. Even your $24k quote isn't bad.
So yeah, today is the day.
Invoice is $25,309 - TMV is quite a bit higher at $25,776, which tells me my old stomping grounds aren't great for Honda buying.
So yeah, the $23,7k quote looks good.
For the trade, go to the top of the page and look for the What's My Car Worth link, fill in the blanks and look up the trade-in number. I rarely go higher than "clean" when looking numbers up. I get $15,557, so it looks like the dealer is treating your cousin well there too.

Your TARGET PRICING RANGE on all CRV models in this area should be for today
1800 to 2500 below Invoice price. A $2500 below invoice being a very best price which most wont get.
If your able to buy in the 2k to 2500 below range you have done real well in the NY/ NJ area.

What state are u buying in ? What was the agreed selling price excluding taxes and fee's.? what are the dealers doc fee charge? Did the agreed price have the destination charge included . Otherwise your OTD number leaves me clueless.
I'd be glad to help if you answer above questions.

I am looking for a 2016 CRV EX-FWD. I emailed the salesman (who was very polite in every interaction via phone and email) asking for OTD $25,500. He called me and booked an appointment in the evening to come purchase it. Even the sales manager emailed me with subject "THE SHORTEST EMAIL YOU'VE EVER READ!" and the body of the email had just one sentence "Let's do business." The upper case in the subject is the manager's, not mine
Our family eagerly drove over to the dealer after work. Everything seemed fine at first. We were greeted warmly, shown the car, features were explained, and off went the salesman to get the pricing ready. Guess how much the OTD price was on the pricing sheet - $1000 more than what I thought we went to purchase the car for. I called the BS and threatened to walk out. The salesman went to talk to the bosses and came back with a meaningless apology. The sales manager didn't have the courtesy to show his face even once during the hour we wasted at that place.
That's my fault - I ask for city or zip in my sig file since I'm always plugging zip codes into my TMV/Invoice research.
And when I think of you, I don't think post office, I think golf course.
If you don't mind youtube, this is a better link from Honda.
Since you are in Florida, I'm assuming a FWD EX. Invoice is $23,309 and your selling price should be near that or less. TMV is $600 more so you're not in an area with aggressive dealer pricing.
If the selling price fits with taxes for your OTD number, then you are doing fine, assuming your concerns about the vibration are alieved. The other thing to watch out for are excessive dealer "doc" fees in Florida. They can get nuts, but since your OTD is under TMV, I'm guessing that your dealer is dealing pretty straight.
(then you can copy/paste it at Yelp or Dealer Rater or wherever).
And good for you for walking out. There'll be another deal (and another dealer) tomorrow. And the next day.

AGREED selling price needed to help you ? Exclude all fee please. . I have no clue what your tax rate is in FL or how you arrived at 25,400. I'm not trying to be difficult but your giving me final numbers. Read prior posts to see how other posters break down there deals.

CRV EX (Kona Coffee Metallic)
23999+900 = 24899 (Base price+Destination)
Tax=1428
Tire+Processing = 14.5
Reg / Title = 308
Doc Fee=399
OTD = $27,000
Dealer is also offering me Edmund's dealer price (Average condition) for my 2008 Nissan Rogue, so I'll save on Taxes.
TMV is about $50 less than invoice on the FWD version - $25,248.
Your quote before taxes and fees is about $600 below invoice. If you look at @brian125's post above, he says "1800 to 2500 below Invoice price". That's his stomping grounds so your quote is below average, and you should shop it some more.
Now, if you are buying an AWD, then you're doing great and the good trade number is gravy. For this scenario, I won't even note my usual complaint about the high doc fee.
I got a deal for Honda CRV EX AWD following
base price: 23500
incentives: 1500
total price: 22000
admin fee: 199
taxes: 2350
total OTD: 24600
Should I move further or wait?
$22,000? Sounds like a terrific selling price. Where are you located anyway - around DC?
You can check invoice and TMV (and my math) at this link.
