Hello lease gurus! I'm currently working with a dealer in Washington State on a 2016 Passat SE and they quoted me for a 36/12 lease at $238 plus tax, $2700 down, cap cost of $21,999 and a residual of $12,390.75 (MSRP $27,934). Considering I've seen $0 cap reduction and around $270 a month deals, I'm wondering if $236 a month (or better) is doable for the SE. Or should I just go for $0 down $205 a month for the S. I'm also eligible for costco, partner, and college grad if that helps (i forgot to tell them during the initial ask). TIA!!

To get that payment, the adjusted CAP cost would have to be about $21000, not $22000. Is $21,999 your selling price? How much of the $2700 upfront is applied to CAP cost reduction?

I believe $1999 is being applied to CAP cost reduction with the rest ($700) being the first payment, tax, and reg. It feels like they're taking the lease cash off MSRP and then using the $1999 to get to $21,999.

What about the acquisition fee?
The quote did not break it out.
Ask the dealer where it is. It can't be waived, so it's there somewhere.

If they don't want to break down the $1999, it makes me wonder if something is hiding in there. Be polite and ask again - you have to be satisfied with the numbers before signing.

Hello! Looking for MF RV for 2017 Passat R-Line in MD for 39/12 and 39/15. Also, local dealer has a Passat R-Line listed for about $18,500 - is it possible to lease at that price or close to it? Thanks!
