Hmm...so I guess my question really is 'Is Audi's required (required because car is leased) scheduled maintenance covered by the warranty, given that it's a new car?'

Why would you want to take your $50K plus new SUV to an independent mechanic for service? Or, alternatively, your local quickie-oil-change place?

I've used the dealer for service while my cars are in warranty, and independent places afterwards (should I keep the car long enough).

    But, to each their own.

    Michael - I'm confused!

    My question is, more simply:

Isn't all scheduled maintenance—as required by Audi on a new, leased vehicle—fully covered by the new car warranty?

I assume that all major REPAIRS are definitely covered by the new car warranty, but is all SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE covered?

On my former BMW, which I purchased new in 2013, ALL scheduled maintenance was covered by the vehicle warranty, and I didn't have to purchase BMW's equivalent of Audi Care.

It seems to me that Audi Care only makes sense to purchase if scheduled maintenance ISN'T covered by Audi's new car warranty...

    Thanks!

    Sorry, I misunderstood your question.

Audi does not cover scheduled maintenance like BMW. In fact, BMW is the only luxury manufacturer that does, automatically.

Ah...then there it is. Thanks, Michael. Given the 1% residual bump, Audi Care seems worth it—and, especially, given that this will be my first experience with Audi and Audi service, it's probably better to be on their good side.

    Purchased PP with following details:
    MSRP: $67,395
    Purchase Price: $ 63, 895
US Bank 42 Months, 56% Residual and 0.0013MF
Monthly payment of $754.84 and $4,756 due at signing.
I think I got a decent deal. Any suggestions? I will pick up car next week as dealer had to transfer the inventory.

wow.. that MF is crazy! it's not worth leasing at that price.
  • kotkot1kotkot1 Member Posts: 34
Thank you! can you please help me understand something. for example. (numbers are not exact.. just to illustrate point)

    MSRP is 60k
CAP cost is 56k after all fees and taxes are factored in. assuming $0 out of pocket cost.
    Resisual is 40k

cost of Lease in this case is 56 - 40 = $16k Plus interest, which is MF. correct so far?

if I pay $16k as single payment, shouldn't interest be $0 ? as I an not borrowing any money? and if that 16k is covered by my trade in, CAP cost should be even less as Taxes would be reduced because of the trade?

please let me know what I am missing. I just reviewed my friends lease contract, he did single payment lease and he was charged "Rent Charge" of $950 which is about 5.5% interest rate. that was Audi A4.

The CAP cost is $56K. That is the amount "borrowed". If you prepay the depreciation ($16K), you are still "borrowing" $40K for the lease term. That's a simplistic way of looking at, and it's not how a single-pay lease is calculated, but it addresses your concern, I think.

Tax is governed by your state rules. But, the bank owns the car, not you, so your tax credit may not apply. Though rules can vary on that.

A single pay lease is just what it sounds like. The monthly payments are calculated as any other lease, and the sum of the payments is what you pay at the beginning of the lease.

Audi does discount the MF when you do this - .00060 for a 36 month lease. Single pay leases cannot be used on a lease longer than 39 months.

Hello! Do you have the MF and residuals for a 2017 Q7 Premium Plus for 36/15k and 24/15k for November in Ohio? Are there any incentives this month?

The MF at Audi have been insane lately are there options to buy down or reduce it? MSD, etc...?

    .00227 MF and 60%/67% residual.
    No incentives.
Audi does have an MSD program, but I don't have the specifics.

We do not recommend making a cap reduction, in any amount. That money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

    36/12 on the Q7 Prestige is .00227 and 60%.

No, this is not a good deal. Try to negotiate 4-6% off sticker, and add your fees to that number to minimize your up front out of pocket costs.

These are not inexpensive to lease, under any circumstances. The big down payment is to get your payment to a number that looks good to you.

No way to make it reasonable; the lease numbers are just not that great. No idea when they might get better, either.

Can I interest you in a nice X5? Or an XC90?

    Hello all,
I’m new to leasing with Audi -- just wanted to get some lease price input on the new 2017 Q7 PP

Little background, NYC resident. I was given a quote from a local dealership, just want some input if the numbers look correct.

As per the dealer, "Audi currently not running any incentive on the Q7 because it is selling so well blah blah blah..."

    Got some Quotes yesterday (11/22/2016)

    MSRP: $68,060.00
    Discount: $2,000
    Purchase price: $66,060.00

    First Quote
    10k/36 - 58.42, .55 =
    -Payment $851/month
    -Due at signing: $4835 (first payment: $851, misc.: $10, Bank: $795, Plates:$300, Tire: $12.50, Taxes: $2,791)

    ---------------

    10k/42 - 55, .55
    -Payment $785/month
-Due at signing: $4,977 (Dealer did not break it down on the paper he provided me.)

    Second Quote:
No breakdown provided by salesman and finance person just numbers.

    10k/36
    -Payment: $819.00, Due: $4,835

    10/42
    -Payment: $754, Due: $4,977

$29,484 (He wrote this on the paper, I think it’s the depreciation cost.)

$29,484 (He wrote this on the paper, I think it’s the depreciation cost.)

    36/10 - .00227 and 63%
    42/10 - .00247 and 59%

Using the prices from the first offer, I get $891/mo for 36 months.

Can't help you with the second set of quotes as we don't have the prices (MSRP and selling).

As you can see, the Q7 is expensive to lease. Have you considered the Jaguar F-Pace or Volvo XC90?

    Hello all,
I’m new to leasing with Audi -- just wanted to get some lease price input on the new 2017 Q7 PP

Little background, NYC resident. I was given a quote from a local dealership, just want some input if the numbers look correct.

As per the dealer, "Audi currently not running any incentive on the Q7 because it is selling so well blah blah blah..."

    Got some Quotes yesterday (11/22/2016)

    MSRP: $68,060.00
    Discount: $2,000
    Purchase price: $66,060.00

    First Quote
    10k/36 - 58.42, .55 =
    -Payment $851/month
    -Due at signing: $4835 (first payment: $851, misc.: $10, Bank: $795, Plates:$300, Tire: $12.50, Taxes: $2,791)

    ---------------

    10k/42 - 55, .55
    -Payment $785/month
-Due at signing: $4,977 (Dealer did not break it down on the paper he provided me.)

    Second Quote:
No breakdown provided by salesman and finance person just numbers.

    10k/36
    -Payment: $819.00, Due: $4,835

    10/42
    -Payment: $754, Due: $4,977

Thanks for the timely response Michaell,

The info I provided is what the sales associate wrote on a paper and gave me.
    They told wrote:
    MSRP: $68,060.00
    Discount: $2,000
Purchase price: $66,060.00 (thats the best they can do) but they also gave me several different options.

Sent sales person and email -- to send me breakdown. I am just waiting now...

I have consider the Volvo xc90, so not too please with the way the back looks.

I also consider the Jaguar F-Pace, but it doesn't have Apple's Carplay - that is a deal breaker for me.

I suggest you reach out to multiple Audi dealers - the competition between them should get you a better deal.

    Keep us posted.

I am so close to pulling the trigger on the new 2017 Q7, just trying to make sure I am getting a good deal. I went to local Volvo dealer to do an inquiry on the new 2017 XC90 Inception, same MSRP price (dealer refuse to knock anything off the MSRP, kept saying its SUV of the year blah blah) as the Q7-PP+ but the dealer was quoting me some astronomical numbers $1k+ for 10k/36, 10k/42 for $960.00. Left the Volvo dealership disappointed.

The Audi deal email me this today.

"I am going to stick with the last payment we gave you here, because the $799 number I am not sure if we can do. This deal is for sure though, because we gave it to you in person and on paper.

Premium Plus Q7- With Vision Package, Bose 3D Sound, and Warm Weather Package (Ventilated seats)

    MSRP is $68,080

    Selling Price $64,060 ($4,000 off)

$814 per month for 36 months

With $4,710 due at signing which are Taxes and Fees

When you came in we told you that we were giving $2,000 off, but I asked my General Sales Manager, *omitted*, and he said to be at $814 for 36 months we need to be at $4,000 off MSRP, even though it’s a big discount he is willing to do the deal if you take one of our Q7’s that are currently in stock.

Let me know what you think.

    Thank you!"

I am not interesting in any of the stock Q7s they have, they all have black interior (deal breaker for me).

I expressed I need Brown interior (sexy).

On yeah, the above number is if I lease via USA Bank, not Audi financial. Not sure if that really make a different.

Any input/insight will be greatly appreciated.

Completely different numbers for US Bank; we don't have them.

And, at that price point, I'd hold for exactly what I want and not settle.

I agree. The dealer have found the Q7 I want (supposedly) but, it come in much higher monthly payment.

    As per dealer;

"On the Q7 with the features you want is

    $899 for 36 months
    $4,800 Due at Signing

The payment went up more than I expected because this lease is in a difference Bracket because the Window Sticker Price is above $67,300.

    Thank you."

Sticker went to $70,625.00. I noticed a lot of fluff $120.00 for usb/lightening cable smh on in the sticker.

The sales man continue to push the one without drive assistance. I have no interest... I will keep reaching out to different dealers until I find the price I want. I just believe $900.00 for Q7 PP is too much.

FWIW, Audi's do not lease well when compared to the competition.

But, $900 is pretty expensive for a $70K SUV.
