Hi Michaell, Thank you so much for all your input on these Forums. Your and your colleague's efforts and insights are well appreciated by so many.

I'm also looking for a new lease and while I would like a Q7 ideally, the money factor according to this thread is way over the top.

In a thread above you suggested looking at the Jaguar F-Pace or Volvo XC90. However when I looked at the Jaguar, the residual was rock bottom in the mid 40's and thus would make the car much more expensive to lease than other competing luxury SUVs. With that said, I'm looking at the follow lease option based on 36/12K. Can you provide current residuals and money factors for the following. Also, is there one of these vehicle that stands out to you positively from a cost and appeal perspective.

    Audi Q7
    Lexus RX 350
    Acura MDX
    Volvo XC90
    BMW X5
Is there another brand/model I should consider?

Also, I'm currently at the end of my lease term (ends in 2 weeks). I have a 2014 Lexus 350 and either need to turn it in or sell it to a dealer. Do you have a recommendation the best way to dispose of the vehicle. I live in Bay Area CA.

    Thank you!

Thank you guys for all of the information you provide.  Would someone be kind enough to post the December mf and residual for premium and premium + 12k/36 month?  Hoping these are more attractive than the past couple months.  Thank you in advance.

.00239 and 62% for both trims.

Numbers actually got a bit worse. These are tremendously popular and Audi knows it.

Audi does not offer 12 month residuals - 24 months is the shortest term available.

And, a 12 month lease would be tremendously expensive, as that is when the biggest drop in residual value takes place.

I suspected as much but I'm seeing quite a few "used" 2107's. Two thousand to 8 thousand miles. What do you think the discount off msrp should be for one of those?

    Figure .50/mile discount over new.

For Audi, we recommend you shoot for 4-6% off MSRP for any new vehicle in stock.

I know that you didn't ask for my opinion but I have to say that the Acura MDX is a great car for the money. I can't believe how much the Audi is.
  • NewcastleWonderNewcastleWonder Member Posts: 9
I test drove most of these SUVs except Audi Q7 (ran out of time). I also believe MDX is a very good choice - it's cheaper and yet performance is great (with a 3rd row as well). I didn't buy MDX as the dealer didn't want to match the price that I wanted to buy

It really depends on what you want (3rd row, better driving experience, comfort, luxury, etc.). If you don't need the 3rd row, you can look at Lexus RX 350 or MB GLE 350. Personally, I will give German cars a try since you have a Lexus now. I had the first generation of RX 350 and it ran great for 11 years until I traded in for a MB.

In the past few weeks, I spent a lot of time checking out these SUVs. From my perspectives, I definitely love the Volvo XC90 and how it looks and drives (it is also relatively cheap compared to German cars). Similar to Q7, they are selling really well so there is not a lot room for price negotiation.

I like the interior of the new Lexus RX 350 but it doesn't really drive well. In addition, my local Lexus dealer didn't really want to come down on the prices so it's almost as expensive as the German ones with all the options. The MB GLE is another good choice as you can really negotiate its price now (I have seen people getting more than 15% off the MSRP on these). It's probably due for an redesign as you can see the new and old design mixed together in the interior (unlike the new GLS and E class).

I ended up buying a BMW X3 a couple of days ago, as I got a good lease deal. In addition, it's a bit smaller than X5 so my wife can also drive it without any issues  It has a bit better fuel economy for daily commute, in addition to driving it on weekends for fun! Having said that, I would have bought a MDX if the dealer would drop the price down a bit and make me feel that I am getting a good deal ;)

Do you have the MF and RV for:
    Prem Plus/48/10K/CA

Also, I will be a first time Audi buyer, is MF negotiable at Audi dealer? Does Audi take MSD?

    .00216 MF and 55% residual, assuming 3.0T

That is the base MF. There is no negotiation, unless they try to mark it up.

Audi does have an MSD program, but I don't have the specifics.

If you have top tier credit, the dealer is marking up the rate for additional profit.

Yeah, I have top tier credit. So, the markup is quite significant. Dealer is giving me 2k off msrp (63.5k) and one of their sales tax credits which is a 5% savings (3k). So, total discount is 5k. Total price is 65.6k which includes audi care and tire/wheel protection, acquisition and dealer fees. Lease offer is $1033/Month for 36M, 16K miles with $1,500 down. Is this a good deal? Thanks for your assistance.

Would love some thoughts and input on the quote from my dealer. I'm coming off of a Q5 lease and am considering the jump up to the Q7 for the extra room.

'17 2.0 Premium Plus with options that take it to $62,325. Dealer has taken $2,493.00 off plus a $1,000 loyalty discount for a sale price of $58,832.00 but OTD after taxes, tag, etc. of $64,223.67.

36/12k is $821 with $2,500 down. MF quoted is .0021. I appreciate the dealer discount noted above but seems like the MF is too high based on the information provided earlier this week? Should I push for that to be lower or more off the MSRP?

    Thanks!

I'm in Florida. Putting together an email to sales manger now questioning the MF. Also seems to be a $795 markup hidden somewhere in his match (margin between net price and balance) that I don't get.

    $795 acquisition fee.

Also, ignore OTD numbers. Sales tax in Florida is collected on each payment, so a price that includes full sales tax is bogus.

Right on the acquisition fee. Makes sense on the OTD number not having ant meaning, I'm still new to this leasing game. He's supposed to get back to me on the MF.

    Thanks again!

There is a .00060 discount on the MF for single pay leases of 36 months. That would take the net MF to .00136; if the dealer is quoting .00150, then they are marking up the base MF before the one-pay discount.

Don't know about tax credits; I was under the assumption that they were an incentive, not tied to a specific type of lease.

Thanks for the info. Dealer doesn't want to discount much off msrp even after adding wheel and tire protection, Audi care and term care. After reading other comments, I have no idea how some people seem to be getting large discounts.

Still new at this but wanted to share a recent offer:

Model: 2017 Audi Q7 Premium Plus
    State: Florida
    Sticker: $62,585.00
    Down Payment: $3500
    Monthly Payment: $885+tax
    Term: 36/7.5
Only reduction I'm aware of is that they offered to make last two payments on existing lease totaling $900.

Can anyone from FL post a lease that they've signed in the past few months on a 2017 Q7?

Or any state for that matter.

    Hi,

I'm in Florida and my Q7 Prestige 3.0T is about to arrive at the dealership. It would be highly appreciated if somebody could post the MF and residual for that vehicle and State for 36 months / 7,500 as well as 10,000 miles/year?

Also, am I assuming correctly that these numbers will remain the same for the rest of February? I just want to make sure that they are accurate when I'm at the dealership in about two weeks.

Any help is appreciated and thank you very much in advance! ;)
