So is the .00210 MF and 62% the same in Northern CA and is the $1500 discount about what we are going to get with no supplier discount offered or anything? Working on a deal and not liking it very much.

    Yes.. same MF and residual.

No info on pricing. If they offered supplier discount, it would be about 6% off MSRP.

Thank you sir, ya was told Audi stopped with the supplier program (I used to have access to it, no word that it was replaced with anything else, unless you get a friends and family coupon)

    Appreciate the verification!

    Dear Moderator,

Need little help in negotiating a deal on a 2017 Q7 retired service loaner with 10k miles on it. It is a 3.0 P+ with vision, cold, warm weather, tow pckgs,, and Bose. I am trying to lease this vehicle for 36/12k. Where do I start, I see msrp as 66,825 so 60-61k as a starting point for new lease so assuming 54k as it has 10k miles on it with base MF (0.00196)& 61% res?. I am in Texas , any help much appreciated. Dealer listed it for 59k
    Thanks.

Figure a price deduct of .25 per mile, so $2500 under the best price you can get for a brand new one.

Thank you for the input. Wouldn't depreciation come into play as it is 6-8 month old used as a loaner?

Yes, the residual is adjusted downward for the miles, as well.

If it hasn't been titled, it still qualifies for new car lease rates, with the adjustment noted above.

Thank you Michael. Yes it is not titled yet so I assume residual applies on dealer listed price of 59k, (Msrp 66,825). It sounds like fair price to me what do you think? Shall I negotiate more on the selling price assuming he is giving me for base MF and 61% residual. on what price residual is calculated. Sorry for the basic questions as I am new to leasing.

Is trading my old car which values up to 8k for a lease a bad idea as I lose that money if leased car gets stolen or totaled? Vs applying that money towards sales tax and left over to cap cost

Yes, it is a bad idea, for the reasons you describe.

Use the equity to cover your out of pocket costs - which we recommend to be just the first payment and DMV costs - and have the dealer cut you a check for the balance.

    Are the 36/12 rates still .00204 and 61 on a 2.0 P+?
  • shumdit1shumdit1 Member Posts: 20
Here is why I ask: I have a car with
    $63965 MSRP
    $60302 is the sales price.
$2000 in total drive off fees
(we have a capped sales tax of $300 in my state) and they show $457 in dealer fees/tag transfer)
I assume that the $2000 is going to have my first months payment, those dealer fees and sales tax in them but maybe they are rolling those fees into the lease and that's where my confusion could be. If I am paying those up front, I see a payment of $780 but they are telling me $808.

Yes, those are the correct numbers for May.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is, and how they got there from the sales price.

They also said the $2000 down included the first months payment, meaning if they did roll the $300 sales tax and $457 in dealer fees/tags into the lease itself I would be putting down $1200 (approx.). and I think the payment would be about $780 at the 61/.00204 #'s. Is that what you get?

If $2000 is the total drive-off, then that likely includes the first payment. That only leaves about $400 for CAP reduction.

I get $782/mo. if that is the case.

If $60,302 is the adjusted CAP cost, as they say, then I get $794/mo.

They said $2000 total and the first payment is included in that. If it was the $808 they are claiming that means $1192 for cap reduction correct?

No.... you listed $800 in other fees, right? That takes us down to $400.

But, they've already given you the adjusted CAP cost.. you have to assume any leftover from the $2000 has already been applied.

Sorry, As you can tell I am a "newbie" to leasing. Using a calculator online for leasing, when I roll those other $757 in fees into the least payment I get $780 a month assuming the 61% and .00204 with that $60302 cap cost on the $63975 MSRP. If I take them out at the beginning (out of that $2000 down, which would get us to the $350 in cap reduction roughly you mentioned) I do see $782. Do those #'s gel on your end? If so I am wondering where they are trying to finagle the extra $25-30 a month out of us, since that's a grand over the course of the lease in extra $$$ for them

That's a mandatory fee; often not disclosed until the last moment.

It might be a deal breaker. Not a fan of that sort of tactic. Nor does a $1300 in dealer fees (not including tax/tags) and a $350 end of lease fee seem reasoanable. That's more than 2 extra payments in the scheme of things.

Every lease will have an acquisition fee attached to it; the trick is to find a dealer willing to be transparent about all the fees.

$1300 in dealer fees? Is that one or multiple fees?

Hello, i have a general question about Audi Financial that someone may have an answer to. Is it common practice for Audi Financial to not honor the buy-out price on the lease contract when asked for the buy-out quote by a dealer (e.g. Carmax)? Essentially, when trying to find out if I had any equity at lease end on a Q7, i found out that Audi Financial will quote the dealership a Fair Market Value buy-out option, as opposed to the agreed upon buy out value for the lessee, which was a significantly higher price. Seems like a rough deal where we are not getting the benefit of the higher residual assumption at lease inception, and Audi Financial tries to benefit from the higher used car market values at lease end. I didn't have the same experience when doing the same through BMW financial, so i don't think it's a universal practice. Thanks for any input.

That's pretty typical for a lot of captive banks, lately. If you want to buy out the lease, they will stick to the contract, but if a dealer (especially a non-Audi dealer) requests a buyout number, they get market value, as they are not a party to the contract.

BMWFS has made changes relative to buyouts, as well.

newbie question here, what credit score is required to get these posted rates? and via which agency? transunion, experion etc?

Mind if i get an updated rate for 2017 Q7 Prem plus 3.0 10k 42 months.

Lastly, does anyone have experience using US bank through Audi? A few dealers in southern California uses US bank, but some deals seem hesitant to use them. From what i previously checked, the rates are better through US bank.

    .00230 and 58%

Generally 700 or 720 is the minimum score for the top tier MF, which we quote.

Don't know which agency AFS uses.

A few months ago, there were a number of posters who shared their deal details of their Q7 leases through US Bank. They did look pretty good, compared to the AFS numbers.

The dealer is offering $64695 MSRP at $60795 sales price, 3k down 10k miles, 53% residual MF 00.00115 US Bank with monthly payment $683 before tax, is this right? I tried using calculators and i think i am missing something. Also any thoughts on getting 3,900 off msrp?

6% off sticker is about right for Audi.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is - might be some fees added in there that account for the higher payment.

I don't know why is so secretive but that's the answer I got from the dealer when I asked the same,

"I am sorry, I have agreed with the dealerships that I will not disclose the pricing, if you notice that the MF is a lot less that what you have been quoted. Let me know how I can earn your business."

wondering what kind of business transparency is this?

    .00204 MF and 59% residual

The calculation is exact. The marked up money factor adds $35/mo.

That looks like a US Bank Quote - the Audi Finance MF is much higher for the Q7.

    A few general comments:

    1. Need to know the residual % or amount to calculate the lease payment
    2. We suggest not putting money down on a lease - limit your out of pocket to the first payment and DMV costs. Your payment will be higher, but you won't be risking that up front money if the car is stolen or totaled before the end of the lease.
    3. Q7's are expensive to lease, any way you cut it
