I wanted to report that we finished up a lease on a 2106 SX Turbo AWD over the weekend. Here are the details:

MSRP: 35080

Selling Price: 32855 (It was not easy to get the price under Edmund's Invoice. Not much room on these cars)

Trade in: 1500 *2004 Endeavor Fair Condition (KBB was 1600-2200)

We paid Doc Fees, First Month, Acquisition Fee and First Payment Up front which were around 1400 (329 dealer fee, 595 Acq, 308 first month, 135 registration and title costs)

We ended up with a 36 month/10k miles at 308 with taxes included. We could have held out and gotten the 500 lease cash that was just released but we got a pretty rare color combo that was actually going to be a dealer trade if we didn't sign on it. We got it in the Burned Copper and Brown Leather interior. Pretty sure there are no other Brown Leather SX Turbos in New England at the moment so we were willing to pay the a little more.

Congrats! Looks like you scored a pretty good deal on a rare color combination - often those go for a premium.

Thanks Michael! Thank you and KYFDX for all the advice. As always, when negotiating the lease, I advise you price everything out before looking at the monthly payment. The dealer originally came in with a monthly payment at 378. They were giving me the selling price as the full MSRP and quoted a money factor .0004 higher than Tier 1. After about an hour of negotiating the price on the vehicle I then had them detail all the fees and made sure the money factor being used was the correct Tier 1 money factor. Good luck to everyone on their car purchases. I have only driven the new car about 20 miles but I'm pretty happy with the way it drives. Feels very sturdy and "tight"

I get $310/mo with those numbers as well. If you're comfortable with the selling price, you are good to go.

Thanks. Dealers work in funny ways. Yes, everyone will argue that you shouldn't negotiate the monthly price you want to pay but if you know your numbers and do your calculations, you can negotiate the monthly as long as you are firm with the amount you pay "out the door" and understand the numbers. Thanks to this forum, I had the numbers for the month (residual value and money factor) and I used TrueCar to get an idea of the price people are paying for the car. Then using a leasing calculator online (there are many to choose from) I plugged in the numbers from this forum and the TrueCar and Kia MSRP numbers to get an idea of the monthly payment if I only paid taxes, registration, fees and first month. I paid $2329 out the door: taxes ($800+), registration ($300+), acquisition fee ($500+), doc fee ($350, negotiable), and first month ($329). I hope this helps. http://www.leaseguide.com/ has been a good resource for me.

Good Morning gentlemen! I humbly request MF and residual value on a Sportage sx (turbo) in Ralegh NC. Also would I benefit from MSD? My credit is 714-750 depending om what scoring model the dealership useses. Any words of wisdom to impart on me before I sit down to negotiate? any and All help is greatly appreciated!

What lease term and how many miles per year?

Kia does not have an MSD program.

Negotiate the price and make sure the MF isn't marked up.
