@Mr_Shiftright - so I gave the car a quick once over. It was raining and I worked late, but it shows very nice. It is a 5 speed car. Titanium Silver/Black. I can't tell what year it is or which engine it has. If I had to guess, I'd say the 2.5L I6 & not the upgraded 3.0L. The interior seems very well taken care of. I couldn't see any of the typical driver's side bolster wear that you see on so many BMWs. I took a snap shot of the 4 Sale sign with the number. PM me if you are interested.
I was interesting in the asking price, yes, but unless I could run it through my local shop, not much chance I'd buy it on the blind. Also I've never driven the coupe--I really need to get doing that. On my list!

It will have the 3.0L; the 2.5 wasn't available on the coupe. The 3.0L is a nice motor and not much slower than the earlier S52 M Coupe.
The writing is on the wall for my mom's 2002 Volvo S80. The alternator went out and it left her stranded. $700 or $800 repair and they found a minor oil leak, which my parents also elected to have fixed (I wouldn't have, since they're probably going to be selling or trading the car at this point).
They hardly ever drive it and it's kind of a waste to have a "nice" car sitting around, but I think that's what she will want to replace it--something similar or a small luxury SUV. Honestly, if there were a great deal to be had on an ultra-low mileage lease (7,500 miles per year or even 5,000 miles per year), that might work out for her. I'd love to sell her my Murano, but she prefers to buy new.
Jaguar offers 5000 mile leases - perhaps they'd be interested in an XE?

Yeah, 198 HP 2.8 litre, while the M coupe had 240 HP S52. 225 HP 3.0 litre M54 engine, once the M coupe went to the 316 HP S54 engine. (although, the swap might not have occurred in tandem)
I'll reserve judgment on the new Accord styling until I see it in the flesh, but based on the pictures and video, I see so much of the previous gen Sonata that I'm a bit disappointed. And the thing is, I liked that Sonata when it came out, and particularly like the current model like @stickguy has. Just seems a bit uninspired for Honda to bit a bit too copycat.
Despite the practicality of the 4-door, I was excited to see what they would do with the coupe styling. Maybe that means the reemergence of the Prelude?
The white one is the 2.0T Sport model. The white is a nice color on the Sport - I like it on the current model for sure. Looks like the center console has a gear selector like on the TLX - seems to me they'll have to reconfigure that to accommodate a manual shifter; maybe you lose one of the cupholders if you want to shift for yourself!

Re: 2018 Accord, here ya go, the most pictures. No coupe will be available.
From that VTEC summary, if this had all been on the previous sport, I would be driving one now. I believe this is just the 2.0t specs (not clear if this is also the 1.5t)

speaking of low mile leases, just got an email from my Acura dealer. offering an ILX lease (premium model, so all the required goodies) for $229/month with 0 down. But, only 7,500 miles. Actually would work for me if my usage didn't change (I probably will not break 21,000 miles on my lease by the time it goes back) but no room to spare.

Stick.....I don't lease, but I overheard one of the Acura sales people mentioning Acura Leases to someone else when I was there several weeks ago. Apparently, Acura forgives up to 7,500 miles overage and $750 of damage to their leases. Might work for you?
I assume that is only if you lease a replacement? I doubt I would sign up for that short of a lease, but if they forgave the miles, makes it a 10K/year lease for less money, so that seems odd.
I am really now leaning toward not doing another lease, but could still happen, depending on financials at the time (and what kind of killer offers I find). Doing a lease intending to purchase, if I find the right situation, is also possible.
@graphicguy your effusive praise for your car and my own research has put a TLX A Spec at the top of the sedan list. In white I think it looks especially sharp.

so, got the wife to stop for our first test drive today. She actually seems to be into it this time! I guess it helps that we definitely have to get a car soon. Anyway, was going to pop into the Toyota dealer to eyeball a new Camry (did end up stopping, didn't find any, so left). but before that we stopped next door at the Mini dealer, intending to look at a Countryman. Which we did, in the showroom (odd about that. Was really dark in there. usually they are lit up as much as possible). Nice blue All4, even had a stick! so sat in it. Was nice enough. pricey though at 34K (base engine). pretty roomy.
so, out of curiosity, went over to look at the 4 door cooper on the floor. I was surprised how roomy that one was. Close enough to the countryman, and plenty big enough for the 2 of us. Even had enough elbow space to not feel cramped. I fit fine in the back seat (advantage of a box design). Decent trunk room, and huge cargo room with back seats down. Very impressed. Good seats.
so, took one for a drive (an S with a stick, because hey, why not!) I was out of practice, but was like riding a bike. No issues. Helped that it has the no roll back feature (though that is a bit unnerving at first). Wife even drove, probably first time with a stick in 6 years or so, and she didn't stall once. We both really liked it, surprisingly so. If I get a mini, definitely going to be the 4 door cooper, not one of the "CUV" versions.
The S was really quick. torque all over, so no need to constantly shift. Sharp handling, and surprised how good the ride was. Will go back and try an AT version, and the base engine, before deciding anything.
I do miss driving a stick though. I just felt "right" to be doing it again. Still want to check out Civic Si, and Accord, at some point. I also broached the subject of a GTI, or even (to save money) a Golf with the Stick. That is a great $ deal.
did not talk price since was not prepared to buy. Did talk about the process, and how a lot of people actually custom order (takes 8-12 weeks) to get exactly what they want. Plus, 18s about to hit, so good deals on 17s if buying now.
I actually like the base model more for a number of reasons. not all that much slower either. I did find one local that had all the stuff I needed (at least that you can actually get) in a base car.
@stickguy nice nice glad you and your wife did injoy your testdrive of the minny cooper 4 door have to look at one of those to as whell! so no camories on the lot yet will see if any on the ground hear!

So, I was driving along today and just about to go across a bridge when I happened to look down by the river.... There was a 90s Chevy truck stuck in the muck (pretty badly), with a large double-axle flat bed trailer in tow. I pulled U-turn down the road a ways, and went back to see if they needed assistance.
A fella in an old GMC pickup - looked to be a '71 - was attached with a chain, but he couldn't budge them. After he pulled his truck up to the lot at the top, I suggested using my kinetic recovery rope, but everyone scoffed at it. Smiling, I went ahead and hooked it up anyway, as the guys said that they were calling a friend with "a big truck." I told them that I wasn't judging the manliness of the friend's truck, but that the recovery rope was going to be far more effective than a bigger tow rig.
To demonstrate, I proceeded to slice away some muck in front of all of his tires (which were nearly buried to the axles) in order to ease his transition out of the holes, then attached the rope to the hitch on my Q7, gave myself about 10' of running distance, and quickly yanked his whole rig out of the mire without the Q7 even breaking its momentum.
I made a few believers this day.... I'm wondering if Bubba Rope might consider commissions?
Sadly, though, my rope slipped on the undercarriage of his truck and was damaged. I certainly learned my lesson to be more careful with my hardware! These are not inexpensive ropes!
I guess it is better the rope than the car, but then I might have something more interesting to contribute to the conversation!

My brother and sister-in-law have a Yukon of that vintage. It's served them well but at 140,000 miles it needs more work than it's worth. They've had tons of sensors go bad, the check engine light has been on for years and the Service Stabilitrak issue is a constant headache for them. I rode it in a couple of months ago and the transmission was starting to slip. I wouldn't want to be the next owner when they trade it.

Remind us, what's on the list and what have you already driven?
So I'm in full on search mode for a Civic Type R - obsessively scanning forums and online listings, calling and emailing dealerships nationwide.
If I would have accurately foreseen my desire to own one, I would have been more diligent about giving a deposit at a reputable dealership months ago. But I didn't.
There are indeed several available out there, but with crazy markups, or subject to a bidding war. There are a number of dealerships amenable to MSRP, but they naturally have long waiting lists at this point.
Anyway, with this great network of enthusiasts across the nation, I thought I'd simply ask if anyone happens to see or hear of a Type R available in their area from a reputable dealer accepting MSRP, feel free to pass along that info my way. I'm absolutely open to having a car shipped or traveling to obtain one.

@stickguy that is rite in a lot of places in NJ dealers are closed on Sunday sum law! forget the name of it. Rwemembor my dads girlfriend had an problem when looking for an new car few years back since all dealers wher closed on SUndays! anyway have fun later on today car looking and test driving with your Daughter! cant wate to hear all about it! later on!
breld: I think if you can hold out just a few months production will ramp up to the point where you might be able to get a Civic Type R at a discount. But I'm not sure about that. And in the short run, my dealer in Louisville doesn't seem to have a single one in stock. In fact, they only have one Civic Si.
@breld will keep my ears opppend and see on line and try to make sum phone calls to sum dealers around hear after work to see what the deal is on the type R Sivicks at local dealers around hear and if they have any in stock and what the deal is with with it all one dealer so close to my house to far to walk but 2 minit drive has bin there for years HOnda City in Levittown New York good dealer from what I do hear will call them first! and an few others no the GTI will be gon real soon lol lol lol
@breld not sure how far you are willing to travel but it's my understanding Baierl Honda is the largest volume Honda dealer in the greater Pittsburgh area. Not sure if Honda is allotting more Type R's to its dealer network based on historical volume sold or simply demand but they might be worth a shot.
