Mershon's did finally pick up my 63 Split Window Corvette Coupe and fixed everything except the odometer. They had it for about a month...just dropped it off today.
They had to send the radiator off to be repaired. Now both headlights open and the wipers work. Correct shift knob too.

@breld you are so welcome! man any time! going to also start doing this for my mom real soon not the same cool car tho lol lol and have to talk to my brother to if he wants to go and test drive an used charger found him an nice used v6 blue colered one at an dealer hear so have to see if he wants used or to leese an new one or if he will evan like it test drive on that trying to convince him to look at an inpala and tores to!
Breld, I was at the Honda store tonight. they had a Sold white R roped off in the showroom. Add on sticker was a $3,400 package (trim stuff, same package on a Accord was $599). And $1,500 ADM. I asked volume, and the sales guy said they expected 5 or so, and they are a top 30 volume dealer in the country. This was their 2nd sold unit. So if you find one at flat sticker, doing good!
so, took princess tonight and did some looking. First stop was the aforementioned Honda dealer. Surprisingly hopping for a Monday night at 7. Got with a nice sales guy (older dude, very friendly, because apparently the guy they have me listed with in the computer is long gone). Had an Si right up front, so he got the keys. I even got to drive it out of the parking spot and off the lot. Had a decent drive, even took an extra loop to be able to hammer it on a highway stretch.
Nice car. Typical good Honda clutch and Shifter. No qualms about that (and all this recent practice, it is like I never stopped). sharp handling. quite quick. I am really into these small turbo motors now. Just drive so nice. Seats are good. A smidge confining. And I am scrawny at this point (not sure I would have fit 50 pounds ago!). My wife, she might not be so happy. Mini seats overall were better. Honda shifted better.
We also sat in a 2017 Accord sport inside. Loved those seats. At this point, assuming the Accord Sport is equipped right, that would be a much better idea for me if I want to get a stick (same drive train, only a few hundred pounds heavier.) Sales dude will call when they have one in. Just need to drive the AT version. I already know how the stick part will be. And if I decide to stick with an AT, will look at an EX instead.
I really need to see full equipment and specs on the Accord to know for sure. I plan to be very picky this time around!
also stopped to drive a TLX. Met a really nice young saleslady. She was becoming best buds with my daughter. If you want a 2017, do it quick, they are running out. Only have a few left. All V6 techs.
anyway, I drove one of those not long ago (a 2015) so I know how nice that drivetrain is. So took out a 4 cyl tech. Nice car still, but much calmer and quieter. Not slow, but have to work it more to scoot along. Basically decided if I am getting one of these, it would have to be the V6, and has to have a tech package. So now into the very low 40Ks I think. getting up there.
Great seats, nice handling, good size. Probably a great highway cruising car.
I did sit in the V6 tech in the showroom (leftover 2017). For the price difference, if I was buying today, would probably go with that.
so, pending seeing how nice the Accord is, my assumption now is I would get one of those instead of the TLX. But that could change when I compare them back to back.
I think the Mini is off the table, but I could have a flight of fancy there. My daughter thinks I am nuts, and wants no part of it!
@stickguy glad the looking and test driving whent whell of those two cars! no you have lots mor to see and test drive! injoy reading all about it! doing anymore looking later on this week!
on vacation next week, so probably no more looking. This was because my daughter got home earlier than normally, and her "fella" was working so she had nothing else to do, and needed to be entertained!

"Fella"?
You may not have tuition payments, but how much are weddings these days?
Too funny both of the south jersey guys are on vacation the same week. Once I get back I need to get out there. I want to drive a loaded Santa Fe (the big one), the new Acadia and an Explorer. By the time I drive those the new Traverse and Enclave will be close
Buick has order forms on the fleet site for the new Enclave. Looks like one equipped like ours (Bose, NAV, dual panel moonroof) will be over $50k. It appears you only get the Bose on the top two trims which include lots of things I just don't care about.

The Mini has been called by Consumer Reports one of the "Cars You'd Be Foolish to Buy":
"Worst used car: Mini Cooper S When it comes to choosing a used car, you can put the odds on your side by choosing a model that performed well when new and has a great reliability track record. Of course, reliability hiccups can happen with any used car, but the Mini Cooper S has the worst history among all cars we have tracked over the past decade. Sure, the car is cute and delightfully entertaining, but year after year, the likelihood of having a problem that requires a repair is heartbreaking. And among the 17 trouble spots we track, engine major, engine minor, engine cooling, fuel system, body integrity, and body hardware have issues at an alarming rate. Although Consumer Reports often recommends skipping an extended warranty, the Mini Cooper S is a case where the investment would be a good hedge against potential problems. Joining the Mini Cooper S as among the worst used cars are the Chevrolet Cruze 1.4T and Ford Fiesta—although these models have fewer model years to anchor their position among the worst of the worst."

Stick....you can get a helluva deal on those '17 TLXs right now. I'm thinking you could probably get an Advance V6 with SH AWD for high $30s. Those are all loaded up. Tech (which is still loaded up) might be mid 30s?
While the 4 cyl is a fun drive, I know the power would eventually leave me wanting.
For kicks, see if they have the '18 ASpec with the bigger tires, firmer shocks and roll bars and let me know what you think.
The v6 tech 2017 on the floor stickered at $40,600 or so. Had the GT package I think (spoiler, etc). My guess is, with some haggling, would be near $30k to roll out with it if I was serious. That would be a value.
All that seems to be left is that configuration too.
There was a white a spec on the floor too. Snazzy. I don't really need or want those extras, and it really blows budget. Just a base V6 tech at about $41k is stretching it until it screams, and would have to be a killer lease deal.
It would be a lease if I do get a mini. 4 year warranty plus free maintenance means no worries!
Well, it might not mean worries for you, but it might be considerable inconvenience. Back in 1999 I bought a brand new 2000 Ford Focus. It was under warranty, but I had to go back to the Ford dealer constantly for repairs. It was a huge hassle. For me, being under warranty is only half of what's needed. I also don't want to be going in often for stuff beyond routine maintenance that much. Once in a while is fine. But all the time? Yikes.
But I'm sure a 2018 Mini is more reliable and better engineered than a 2000 Ford Focus. Almost any car made in the 21st century would be.
I'm very partial to a white TLX A-Spec w/black interior. The 3 dealers around here have at least 3 of those apiece and from browsing the lease thread there's dealer cash available.

Not sure if you need cavernous, but, if not, take a look at the new Equinox as well. Sizing and layout is very nice, plus pretty solid fuel economy numbers! Also, 1.6L diesel variant due later this year....

The Equinox is nice but we need a third row (two car seats and often a third adult). We also have no clue how to pack light on trips .... I think I'd be ashamed to post a pic of our loaded Enclave come Saturday morning.
Tom, my wife is like that. Every big trip we have our traditional fight and she stops talking to me for a while. Good thing I am a master packer, and somehow get it all n the RDX. Sometimes it seems like she still thinks we have the odyssey.
I don't even fight it. Good thing is my mom is coming with us and I can stash some stuff in her RAV4 to lighten the load.
My wife and I are both master packers, though I am not nearly as, uh.... insistent about it (particularly if I don't have to be). She, however, is also a master planner, which drives me nuts. I am more about packing what is needed and not worrying about every detail of every day. I figure that, regardless of how much I plan, things are going to come up that we cannot plan, so an outline gives us more flexibility than a play-by-play agenda.
She's a big fan of play-by-play.... where we're going to stop, where we're going to stay, paying for it in advance so we have to stay there, planning and preparing every meal, etc. It never ends. LOL
Drives. Me. Nuts.
The flip side, though, is that our trips tend to be very smooth (even if it does take several days into them for us to start talking to one another again....!). The only major stressor I have is the ever-present "plan" looming over me.
2018 Subaru Crosstrek, 2014 Audi Q7 TDI, 2013 Subaru Forester, 2013 Ford F250 Lariat D, 1976 Ford F250, 1969 Chevrolet C20, 1969 Ford Econoline 100
Once I fight the "bring everything we own" battle, and finally get it all in the car, I don't care about the rest. Just get where we are going, and unload. The wife just overpacks, I worry more about logistics.
T, for the shore this year, we will have 3 cars for the 4 of us. That makes it a whole lot easier! I just load up the kids with all the consumables.
A few weeks ago, I commented on a former co-worker who owns the Nissan Versa, and the problems they've been having with their CVT transmission
Happy to report that a $400 fluid flush and change has got the car back on the road and running great. It needs some other maintenance, but the transmission "feels like new", I'm told.
My wife and I were in Europe for a few weeks at the end of June. We each had the same size roller bag to pack. Of course, she packed her's out to the gills; probably twice as much stuff as me. She looks at our bags, then says, "Whoa, I packed too much stuff."
She then says, "Can I put some of my stuff in yours?'
Thanks for the Nissan Versa CVT update, Michaell. Nice to see that a regular tranny fluid flush 'n change fixed things for your former co-worker. Even if they should have bought a 5-speed stick.
