How many more chances do you think you will have? :)

You went to all the cool places.

GF and I are going to https://www.jags.com/ tonight for V-day. We went to P.F. Chang’s (not her favorite, but I love it) on Saturday and drank some dirty martinis with dinner. Good thing she was driving.

Yesterday, my son came by with his GF. Her daughter came by with her BF. I made chili. She made a heaping nachos mountain. We both joined forces for shredded pork sliders.

Great time had by all, except for the outcome.

So much food this weekend lol. It was a crappy snowy/rainy day here in NJ so we made a bunch of stuff and piled into the theater room. Watched two movies with the kids and then the game. Great relaxing day.

Interesting, ad feels legit but thats pricy even with the low miles. I had an S40 T5 sedan of that era. Quick little sucker but I did not find the seats to be the typical Volvo comfortable.

Meh. For some reason I'm not feeling it - and I don't love paying a premium for uber low mileage - my guess is it'll need a timing belt and such.

I don't follow the NFL, college football yes, NFL no. Yesterday I ran up to the local supermarket (HEB) to pick up a few items while the game was on. I figured the store would be deserted, everyone at home watching the superbowl. Much to my surprise, the store was packed full of shoppers.

I remember many years ago, one of the local supermarket chains ran a special pricing promotion just for the superbowl. During the hours the game was on, shoppers received a discount on their entire purchase. Naturally I took advantage of that, and the store was nearly deserted. Which was what I expected yesterday, but definitely not the case.

    Sorry sign of the times.

The add-on’s price are beyond ridiculous, especially the lifetime nitrogen. Most seem to be a 2-fold increase.
Happened to talk to a local Honda dealership about a ‘22 Accord Hybrid Limited. Yes, they have add-ons but the mandatory doc. fee is $399 and if I was present there as a “serious buyer”, the few add-ons would be removed. For these times, not bad.

Oh my goodness. I love that car. If it was local to me I would buy it for that price. And I have zero need for it.

well, it was an exciting game at least. Not that the Bengals fans likely care. But Cinci did spit the bit on that last Ram's drive.

Yeah, they had a pretty bad fourth quarter all around. Too bad they didn't eek out the 'W', but at least the Rams made something of the many chances they had on that last drive! Let's not mention that the Bengals' touchdown that gave them the lead should have been flagged off. At that point, who knows what would have happened. :D

Well, we discussed the option of 1) her and I going out to drive it home, 2) coordinating to pick it up myself when I visit my son at his college in Illinois next week or 3) simply pay a shipper. She chose door #4. :)

So, I'll have a leisurely weekend at home, hanging with my younger son and I'm sure I'll fit in a breakfast or lunch with @michaell and @jpp75, and then get to see the new Bronco pull into the garage at the end of the weekend!

When my wife was checking out some Broncos this past weekend to "try it on for size," we decided we will likely install some side steps.

Any general recommendations regarding going with the Ford accessory or looking aftermarket? They look easy enough to install.

With as new as the Bronco is I’d tend to stick with Ford. I’m sure there are plenty of aftermarket ones available already, but the Ford units should be a perfect match.

Do you have to drill anything or do they use holes already there?

Are those the summer-only performance version of the all-season type? I have the latter on my ATS and they are great tires.

Summer only. But a funny story, after installation at the tire shop, I gave it a walkaround and noticed they put on the PS All Season 4, not the PS 4S I bought. They put it back in the bay, then put on the correct tires. I was actually impressed they had both in the right sizes. But as this is the fun 3rd car, I want the full grip performance 4S.

the 4S's are ridiculously good tires. They make all-seasons pointless unless you need snow traction, and they give some extreme performance 200 treadwear tires a run for their money.

Very good choice for the new shoes on the Z4. Enjoy!

I’m trying to think back, but it usually does work out that I do have a habit of ditching a car not soon after I put some sort of money into it. Whomever bought my Q40 AWD from Carvana got one with 4 new pads & rotors. I put 4 new tires on my wife’s ‘07 X3 about a month before we turned it back in. I had a thicker rear sway bar and remote start installed in my Legacy about 6ish months before I decided to trade it in.

I think many here on this forum look on buying and selling cars as a hobby. And while some people manage to make money from their hobbies, most don't. We work to make money to pay for our hobbies. Let the man enjoy himself, I say.

@nyccarguy - there was an article on TTAC (I think in connection with Murilee Martin's junkyard finds) which indicated that cars often get dumped after the first medium repair after a major repair. E.g., transmission rebuild, the owner thinks everything will be completely fixed after that, then it needs valve cover gaskets and they fix those, but decide to dump it. It does seem that nearly every car I've ever sold or traded in has almost-new tires.

@28firefighter - I had a former neighbor who installed an XXL mailbox next to his front door because he didn't want to be bothered to check his mail every day.

@henryn - I wish I had bought a handful, as well. Of course, there was a significant downside risk if something happened with the settlement.

My wife's X1 was due for an oil change and a brake fluid change, so i took it to my dealer today. I went with the $299 oil change deal which gets you unlimited oil changes for three years based on the Condition Based Service system. I will probably get 4 changes out of it. The key read also showed it needed a new microfilter. After 57k miles the tires were marginal so they had a deal on Conti all-seasons so I went with them- and with my discount the price was the same a Tire Rack's . Not my favorite tire but decent- and my wife likes them fine. Finally here was also a recall to update the DME, which took 3 hours to download to the car. I got a 330i xDrive loaner, which is a superb cruiser, but not something I'd want to own. It didn't feel that much faster than the X1, and the X1 has much more communicative steering. The X1 is just an all-around pleasant vehicle to drive, it feels more like a 3er wagon than a downsized X3.

EDIT: The recall performed was 20E-A01; apparently in leans the A/F ratio a bit to extend the life of the catalyst. The only downside I'm hearing is that some-not all-cars with custom coding had all the coding set back to factory defaults.
