@corvette - I forgot you purchased (leased) this out of state. I’ve never had that go smoothly, but as long as the dealership is responsive, its always worked out okay.
Car Wizard had some interesting stuff on his channel. He was arrogant about putting down other shops (perhaps he was right about it some of the time), but he crossed a line in the sand in his most recent video when he referred to a C5 as having an LT1 engine. I had to unsubscribe on general principle.

You should have taken him to task in the comments section. To be honest I always had trouble keeping Chevy’s engine designations straight. LS, LT, 1,2,3,4,etc. and then they mix it up with trim names like LT1. I much prefer Ford’s naming engines Coyote, Duratec, Cobra, Ecoboost and such.

I don't know who I dislike more, the pedantic and smug Car Wizard or his buddy Hoovie. I have stopped watching both of them.
Bought my Kia EV6 in KY and just registered it in OH. Smooth sailing. No issues.
As far as Hoovie and Car Wizard is concerned, gave up on both a few years ago. I know YT have made them C list stars. But, their "schtick" got real old real quick. Last I heard Hoovie had a new girlfriend and he was exploiting that on YT.
Since I moved to CT in 2010, I think I've only bought one car in state. Our 2022 Highlander. The 2011 & 2017 Pilots were bought in NY. My '23 Tacoma was from PA. The '19 Tacoma, '22 Wrangler, & '23 Wrangler were from MA. My Infiniti & Legacy were both from NY.

He put a ring on that really quickly, about the same time she moved to Kansas. I hope he has the sense to get a prenup so he doesn't get split in half again, but that seems unlikely since the new channel is a joint venture between them both.
I stopped watching the Car Wizard when he said they weren't going to work on domestic brand vehicles in their shop anymore. Since then, I noticed he changed course. Must have had a significant viewership/subscriber drop.

Watching YouTube on my laptop the past few days has been annoying--I'm noticing a lot of dropped frames. No idea whether it's something on YouTube's end, an issue with Chrome, or an issue with macOS 15, which was recently released. My MacBook Air is only four years old, but it's the last of the Intel processor models. The CPU isn't maxed out when playing video.
Car Wizard explained why they started working on domestics again. One mechanic left and the replacement was a domestic guy. Plus it is probably steadier income.
I am curious at this point with his number of subscribers and views, if the YouTube channel makes more money than the shop does.

I’ll ultimately have the tire shop weigh in, but I sure folks here have experience…
We plan on putting winter tires in the GV60. Tire size is 255/45/20. I have almost new Blizzaks off the departed X5 and they are 275/40/20.
Online calculator says there’s a 1% difference in diameter (8 mm). Speedometer effect seems nominal.
Is that generally within tolerances?
If I was doing it myself, I know my biggest problem would be getting those on the wheels. 20mm wider on low profile is about impossible with my equipment, and definitely impossible if RFT, although I never buy RFT.
I doubt the extra 10mm on the inside is going to rub. That would be scary tight tolerance if so. You can get that kind of variance just driving hard.

I figured he was losing money a couple of months back when he was selling off most of the unfinished projects he bought trying to generate clicks. Bit off more than he could chew I think.
Thanks for the feedback on the tires…I stopped by Discount Tire, and their system says there’s a risk of rubbing on the front, so I’ll likely just post the “old” tires up for sale and get some new ones. Oh well.
I did get rid of a couple things from the garage today though…had a couple tires left from the daughter’s Jetta and just gave those away to the first person who could come pick them up. This guy was so appreciative that he brought me some chocolates.
Then I posted my weathertech mats from the Mercedes E450 that I still had laying around. Again, just wanted them to go to good use, so posted them for $25. The guy Venmo’d me the money before even picking them up. He drove up in a Nissan GT-R and was happy to get the mats for his E63.
That water line mark in the door jamb looks a little low compared to my memory of the pictures you posted. Also, "rebuilt flood" seems like a misnomer, when the dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree. I guess "rebuildable" isn't one of the classifications?

the Acura got listed quick. You would need to be a really good auto electronics diagnostician to want to "wade" into that! with a large budget and lots of time.
I can see why people get sucked in though. It looks perfect.
I think my wife needs a pep talk from Mrs. Breld. We stopped at the local transfer station (it was the annual paper shred event so we dropped off a box). on the way out, I offered to go around the corner to the local Porsche dealer, just to sit in a couple to see how it was. Sadly, she passed on the offer. She is no fun.

Check willtheyfit.com to see how they may or may not fit. You input info on current tires and add new tires and it draws a picture and shows what changes

At this point, any talk of cars from me, well just don’t. Very happy with the Arteon. Next week will be the first week that I use it to commute to the office which is 40 miles each way. It will be interesting to see what type of gas mileage it gets. It requires PUG. The Passat routinely got 36mpg on RUG from the commute. I work every other week in the office. Our daughter who now drives the Passat has broken it in with significant curb rash on the right rear wheel. Nice..

That’s an easy fix in the drive way. Sand, filler and spray paint with some painters tqpe
Question for everyone: daughter and hubby looking for used second vehicle as they are expecting their second child. Want a 3-row. They currently have a 2020 RAV4 PHEV, which they like very much. Second vehicle will have to sit out as they only have 1-car garage so they want used. Also price conscious. Saw an ad near them for a used MDX at a reasonable price. I’m not familiar with them. Anyone have one? Is the 3rd row actually usable?
I sat in the 3rd row of an MDX a few years back. I believe it was the generation before the current one, but likely did not change much. It was painful but I am 6' tall. as long as it is for kids, no issue.
if they really are concerned about a usable 3rd row, they should be looking at minivans.
They are. It’s just whatever they can find that is affordable. Toyota Siennas have really high prices, even used, seems to be a Toyota theme these days. They want to look at an Odyssey as well.

What about rubbing, from the extra width? That's 0.8 inches wider

I agree that his main concern should be clearance all the way around with a larger tire.
As for a speedometer difference, that is negligible. Our poster buddy @roadburner goes way over that all the time with his OEM tires.
