    Bradd, you check out the Legacy yet? I like the current one, and was reading in the latest C&D a review of the new 2015. they really liked it. Big improvements all around, and really seemed to have a nice dose of Sube "personality". I assume they are out now?

    I have to take the Volvo in on Friday for an oil change. They are right next door to the Sube dealer, so I will walk over and take a browse. maybe sit in a WRX, though that might be dangerous (well, not really, thanks to the price!)

    @stickguy‌

    I haven't checked out the Legacy yet. I have been seeing a ton of the 2014 era body style around. I think that would definitely suit my needs very well. I've got to get over to the Subaru dealer and check it out.

    @corvette‌

    it isn't even that. In the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area, there are certain roads that "you know" are to be avoided. Many of those roads are the shortest distance between 2 points (I-95 Cross Bronx Expressway, Route 9 in Central Jersey just to name a few off the top of my head.

    A few years ago, I went to Nj to see a Saabaru for @kyfdx's son. From where I was, the Navigation actually wanted to send me through mid-town Manhattan into the Lincoln Tunnel, then to The Garden State. I knew that wasn't "the right way" to go.

    This time, I had been to Freehold before and forgotten the best route. After sitting for a few miles, I just jumped on Route 18 South. I passed "All American Ford" as well as that "Torchlight" place you guys are always finding Volvos at.

    Hey NYC...Have you considered the Acura TLX? I think it looks nice, has an AWD option and is priced pretty well. Not sure if the 4cyl will provide enough 'go' for you though. 206hp and 290 from the 6.

    maybe next time around I'd take a look at the TLX. If I had the budget now, I'd strongly consider the outgoing 2014 TL SH AWD w/ Tech. Last month they had $3750 worth of trunk money. Once the TLX starts hitting the showrooms, they are going to start blowing the TLs out the door.

    This time I'm really looking to cut my monthly payments down. I'd strongly consider a CPO Acura in a few years:)

    Cool, I know we've both had TSX's in the past. I enjoyed mine but got BMW fever and traded it. As I said before, the TLX is a darn good looking car.

    I've never seen much lease support on any Ford/Lincoln. That would definitely affect my decision.

    They actually have $5,000 lease cash on the Energi model and the money factor was .00000208 but I agree, normally their lease support isn't great. I could have saved about $40 a month going the 36 month lease but I really only want/need the car for 24 months, so no need in paying an extra 12 payments just to save $480.

    I'm definitely interested in seeing the TLX in person, it will be interesting to see if it's the best blend of the TSX and TL. I've always liked the TSX, a lot of car for the money it seems.

    @nyccarguy‌ - you were very very near me. Rt 9 on the weekends is a horror show, but there are some areas where you just can't avoid it, unfortunately.

    For everyone - my favorite app on my phone is MotionX navigation. It has been extremely accurate for me in the traffic updates and guiding me around problem areas. Also reads out the speed limit and your current speed, which I find handy.

    Rebuilt title because of flood no less. That just makes those inevitable electric gremlins that much worse. Plus not a fan of the wheels and uber low stance. This is an attractive car just the way it came. Pass, pass, pass and I am an admitted Roundel fan boy.

    The lowering kit, custom exhaust, wheels, window tint, spoiler, and tinted headlamps/taillamps all make the car unattractive to me. The black roof, I could live with. A rebuilt title at that price is no bargain.

    Spend 10K more --- Or even just 6K more and get a nice one - better than giving the money to a mechanic (by looking at that thing, I bet you'd be doing that, and soon). You'll also be able to sell it again down the line, not so much with a salvage title from Houston.

    Maybe if we have inflation that makes all values rise. I don't see intense future collectibility of the E60 M5 - they are kind of aesthetically challenged, lots of electronics to go wrong, and the hp and idea of the V10 is cool, but as was mentioned, it doesn't have a ton of torque, maybe a little high strung for those who want a larger sedan.

    The E39 M5, however, might have some future upside - the nicest BMW design in the past 25 years maybe.

    You're probably right about the electronics, I remember when Top Gear tested the E60 M5, they couldn't get the satnav to turn off.

    I loved my E39, but it's difficult to keep a complicated 10+ year old slab of German iron in good working order. That example seems to be priced high, even for one in immaculate condition. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the ///M5 badge on the trunk looks like it has extra space between the M and the 5. If true, that raises a concern as to why the badge was removed/repositioned (paintwork? accident?), and if either of those happened, it's no longer "immaculate."

    I didn't notice the badge spacing in the terrible portrait mode pics, nice catch. It was the only E39 M5 on local CL, so I posted it. I think those cars have greater appreciation potential than an E60, due to their style and relative purity. And even then it will be limited - E34 M5s aren't running away, and even the rare E28 seems to have a cap much lower than the hyped E30 M3.

    If everything checks out as described in that ad, I think it's an incredible price. It took a little while, but I sold my very similar E39 manual sport with 75k miles earlier this year for $10k.

    I'd say the only downside is that color - doesn't exactly match up with the manual/sport package image, IMO. But the mileage is crazy low - I'd even be a bit tempted if it were a bit closer.

    Yeah.. I think it's a great price, if it's as advertised... It's really the best E39 you can buy.. and super low miles. I happen to like that color, but most people don't think much of it.. Looks better on the E39 than on an E46, in my opinion.

    Yeah, I had a 428i xdrive m-sport line as a loaner for almost a week. Say what you will about the softer nature of these modern BMWs, but it sure struck a nice balance between fun and comfort. And I certainly received a good share of compliments on the Estoril Blue.

    I had that loaner over a weekend when I was carrying around my two boys and all their baseball stuff all weekend long and its accommodations were pretty darn good.

    Interesting. I took the 335 in a couple of weeks ago and got a 328 absolute base model. Have to say the 4 cyl wasn't too bad. Rest of the car was poorly equipped for what it would have retailed for though. I'd guess it would have been a 37-38k MSRP new. Non-sport seats were bad.

    Problem is I just love the I6 BMW's. Nothing particularly wrong with the I4 other than missting 2 cyl :wink:

    I am doing a drive (Un4gettable??something like that) in a few weeks and chose to drive a 428i Gran Coupe. Looking forward to that!

    A 428i would be a perfectly fine car for my wife, but it doesn't do all that much for me- my own turbo I4 may not be as sophisticated or gadget laden as the 4er, but it is infinitely more entertaining... B)
