I dunno - I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about either deal.
Have you considered a dealer in Cincinnati? The more competition you introduce, the better deal you can get.
will be happy to read your thoughts about this offer that i got:
MSRP 42,845 Sale price 37,463 Documentation 490 License / Title 395 Acquisition fee 795
Due on delivery 3000 (435 1st payment + 2665 down payment for doc/aq./etc + total deal)
Residual 56%, 15K miles sales tax 7% MF 0.00079
So overall - total monthly including tax - 435 p/m (+ the 3,000 due on delivery)
thoughts?
Thanks!
I get $452/mo with tax using those numbers. How much of the $2665 is going to cap reduction?
Thanks for the answer - not really sure, but my guess is that docs and license are due on delivery right? so my guess it'll 1,780
they assured me that i'll pay the 435 + 3,000 delivery w/o any additional dime. am i missing something?
do you think it is a good deal?
Thanks again!
Acquisition fee? Dealer fee? Those are also usually paid up front.
$17 * 36 = $612 - that would be the true cap reduction based on the numbers.
I'd ask for a full breakdown of how the up front money is being used.
Hi Michael - i see that they they are adding my tax to the "total cap" and only then reducing the 2665 to a "Net reduction" - why is that? is it something that is required in NJ? again, new to the US.

NJ taxes the sum of the payments, and collects the amount up front. They are adding all the taxes and fees to the selling price, then using the $2665 to reduce that amount.

What was the Chicago MSRP again? I can re-run the payment to see if it makes sense.
Chicago Msrp - 48980. Negotiated price - 45,398 + Tax @7% PRORATED TO LEASE AMOUNT. Lease 36 months 12,000 miles per year. No money down except for 1st payment.
I am am looking for lease numbers on the 2017 Audi A4 Premium with Quattro. I would be interested in residual value and money factor on leases for 36 months and 12,000 miles per year and 15,000 miles per year. I read on this post that a 6% discount on Audi models is a good deal, is that still accurate? Also are there any incentives right now to lower cap costs on the dealer side or is that basically just done through a discount on the msrp? I am in Ohio.

Is it a good deal?
.00079 and 56%.
Using your MSRP and cap cost, I get $507/mo plus tax.
Dealer could be marking up the MF for a bit of extra profit.
And, FL taxes the monthly payment - I'd find out what the $1400 tax represents.
Is it a good idea to add audicare to a 3 year / 36 month lease? Will it be prorated and will the residual go up by a percent?
Yes, it's a good idea.
Don't know if it's prorated.
Yes, residual goes up 1%.
The AudiCare is full price, but the added residual covers a lot of the cost. So, in that sense, the cost is similar to being pro-rated, although technically is isn't.
How does the residual change as you move from 10k to 12k to 15k in miles? Also deciding between Premium Plus and Prestige as well as FWD and Quattro.
Looks like 15k is 2% lower than 12k. Is 10k 1% lower than 12k? Also looks like the MF is about the same for Premium Plus and Prestige, but Quattro has approximately double the MF vs. FWD.
Looking to lease in the Atlanta area if that helps.

Yes, 12K residual is 2% higher than 15K; 10K is 3% higher than 15K
MF for FWD is .00034 (up to 36 months); MF for Quattro is .00079 (up to 36 months).
Difference between Prem + and Prestige residual is 3% for FWD; 4% for Quattro (Prestige is lower)
IS FWD residual same as Quattro or 2% lower? Seen both when reviewing the forums.
Also, I'd assume the math works out better in terms of monthly payments for the 36 month lease vs. 42 month, correct?
All things being equal, FWD residual is 2% lower than Quattro.
You'd have to run the numbers for both terms to see which is better for you.
Generally, 36 months is the sweet spot.
Does Audi do 39 month leases? I think with Infiniti, the residual between 36 to 39 is largely unchanged, so you get to spread the same depreciation over more months, effectively lowering the monthly payment.

Yes, Audi offers a 39 month lease term.
Residual is 2% lower, but the MF is .00020 higher, so often not as good a deal.
Wondering which one is the better deal. Both 36 month 10k miles and FWD. One is premium plus with technology $46,000 FWD. Quoted at 369 plus tax with 3750 down. Second car is a prestige with drivers assistance FWD $48,830. Quoted at 405 with 5000 down. Tempted to get the drivers assistance because of the safety features.
.00034 and 57% (Prem +) or 54% (Prestige).
We don't recommend making a down payment on a lease; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled; up front costs should be limited to the first payment, acquisition fee, dealer fee and any DMV costs.
And, we'd need to know the MSRP of each car in order to figure the payment.
Yeah I understand but unfortunately these are the 2 structures I have with the down payments. The MSRP's are above but I can give you them again. The premium plus is $46,000, $369 plus tax, $3750 total down, 10k, 36 months. The prestige is $48,830, $405 plus tax, $5000 total down, 10k, 36 months. It is in California and tax rate is 8.225%.
Thanks.
You can structure the deal any way you want; you don't have to 'settle' for whatever deal the dealership puts in front of you.
Sorry, didn't realize those were the MSRPs. I'll need the adjusted cap cost, then, to figure the payments.
The cap reduction is 4568 on both cars. And yeah I understand it seems better for me to have less monthly payments for 3 years and don't mind paying more on a down payment right now.
$4568 works out to about $127/mo.
Be advised that the cap reduction money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled during the lease.
Would you please provide numbers for a Prestige Quattro, east coast (DC/MD/VA area), 36/12k?
Here are numbers I was given by a dealer (includes driver assist, cold + warm weather, CADS):
MSRP: $55,435 Adjusted Price: $53,500 (after $1935 discount off msrp) Net Price: $57,358 (after adding taxes/fees) Residual: 54% MF: 0.00129 Monthly payment for 36/12k (with $0 down): $931
This seemed like a pretty bad deal (though welcome a second opinion), and I can't duplicate the math that would support the $931 figure. Was told there was minimal room to discount and a high MF due to (a) the Prestige being in high demand/low supply, and (b) the DC/MD/VA area being one of Audi's top sales regions.

.00079 MF and 54% residual. Money factor marked up.
Basically, everything you were told is BS. Prestige models aren't in high demand to lease, because the residuals are 4% lower than the Premium Plus model. If your area was really one of the top sales regions, it would be because they give aggressive deals, not crappy ones.
I really encourage you to look for a loaded up Premium Plus model. $70/month less. Plus, shop another dealer, because this one has their head up their ----.
Looks like maybe you are in Maryland, considering the nearly $4000 in costs added on to the selling price?
Greetings moderators, I'd like to get your opinion on a deal I'm negotiating: Audi A4 Premium Plus Quattro in Maryland with 36/10K MSRP $49125 Sale price $45927 Net cap cost of ~$48,683 with tax rolled in (6% of sales price) MF .00079 Residual 59% 1st month and fees paid up front (~$2000) Monthly payment of ~$609
Does that sound right? Is the current Audi acquisition fee $795? Thanks for providing this valuable service!

$17 * 36 = $612 - that would be the true cap reduction based on the numbers.
