Looking for feedback on this lease offer for a Prem Plus Quattro in Georgia. They are getting the car from another dealer out of state.
MSRP: $49,125 Negotiated price: $44,991 Sales Tax: $3,205 Doc fee: $599 GA Warranty Fee: $3 GA License: $26 Out of state license: $150 GA title: $18 Total Price: $48,992
36 months / 12,000 miles - lease payment of $681.79
The sales person said they are using .00043 as the money factor but that doesn't seem right, it should be more like $631 instead.
Anyway, curious to hear if 1) you think the MF is off; 2) there is room to negotiate on the price; 3) other fees you think could be negotiated.
Thanks!
.00043 and 56%, this month.
Using the given MSRP and Total Price, I get $630/mo. Much closer to your calculation than theirs.
Ask them if the adjusted cap cost is the same as the total price - if not, have them explain the difference.
If they are the same, they've marked up the MF
The only fee that is "junk" is the doc fee; but, you're getting almost 8.5% off sticker, which is pretty good for an Audi. Try to claw back the $599, but that's about it.
Where is the acquisition fee? If I add that to the total price, the payment is still only $652/mo.
I was quoted the following from a dealer in Michigan and I wanted to know if this was a `good` deal:
2017 Audi A4 4dr Premium Quattro MSRP: $42230 Adjusted Sales Price: $40404 Tax: $2438.28 Tag/Fees: $47 Doc Fee: 210 Total Cost: $43,099.28 ---------- MF: .000083 Residual: $23648 (I come up w/ 58%) Payment: 575-584 w/nothing down ($846 out of pocket) $544-553 w/$1000 down ($1875 out of pocket) This is before credit check etc...
Questions: 1) Is the mf correct, or inflated? 2) When I run these numbers I am coming up with $526... am I reading this wrong?

1. MF is inflated; base MF is .00043 this month 2. Lease tax in MI is assessed against the monthly payment, not up front. Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is; that should clear up any confusion with the pricing.
And, I don't see the Audi acquisition fee mentioned anywhere - that's $795.

Likely it is not - looks like the first payment and DMV costs. Which is what you want, but get the adjusted cap cost so we can run the numbers.
Be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF - they know what the base rate is.
Looking for MF and residual for a lease in texas: Audi A4 quattro, Premium plus with Technology Package. 36 months 12k and 36 months 15k. Thanks for the help!!

Texas applies sales tax against the entire selling price. $795 acquisition fee, dealer fee, DMV costs.
Up front money should be only first payment and DMV costs - roll everything else into the lease payment.
To start off, I live in Southern California where there is a glut of ultra Premium Season of Audi cars that the dealers are really pushing. However, while they do have the S-Line styling, they lack the full LED headlights and the B&O Sound, both of which I'd like to have, and I really have no need for the Tech package/Virtual Cockpit as I can simply use the Google Maps app through Apple CarPlay for navigation. My ideal trim would be a an ultra Premium Plus with nothing else (mainly because the MSRP is virtually the same as the SoA cars plus it has the full LEDs and the B&O Sound), but they are nearly impossible to find, especially without the Tech package (I think there might be 4 in all of SoCal, and they all have the Tech package).
One dealership, which didn't have any FWD Premium Pluses in stock quoted me an ultra Premium Season of Audi for 36 mo./7.5k miles (I don't have a long commute) as follows:
MSRP: $40,550 Sale Price: $36,200 (or something around there) Residual: 60% MF: .00077 Drive off: $2,500 Monthly Payment: $402 (or something around there) including tax, which is 9.25%
I got them down to $395/mo. but ultimately didn't consummate the deal because I wanted a little more time to research and shop around and fortunately stumbled upon this forum in the meantime.
I'm going to another dealership tomorrow that has a couple FWD Premium Pluses (not ultras) without the Tech package and a ton of ultra Premium SoAs. The person I spoke with said they could match or beat the offer I received on the ultra Premium SoA, but I'm now considering just going with a Premium Plus FWD. I guess it would all come down to the sale price, the MF, and the residual, so if anyone has inside knowledge on those figures or could recommend me going one way or the other, I would greatly appreciate any feedback. (Sorry for the long post, just didn't want to leave anything out)

We show .00030 MF and 57% residual for 36/7.5K
The only model we show with 60% residual for 36/7.5K is a Quattro SOA model. (.00043 MF)
Using the numbers given to you, I get $376/mo.+tax, assuming all other costs are paid upfront.
The residual concerns me, and I wonder if they are using a 3rd party bank (which would be really unusual for an Audi dealer).
Hi Michael, I'm looking to lease a 2017 Audi A4 Sedan 2.0 Ultra FWD S Tronic in California (36mo/10k). What should I be looking for in terms of MF and Residual values?

Audi has four regions. Texas is in the Southern Region, and doesn't have those incentives.
I am trying to lease 2017 Audi A4 Premium Quattro + Convenience Package for 12k miles and 36 months.
MSRP: $42,230 Sale Price: $38,430 Tax: $2,445.84 (MI) Tag and Titles: $47 Documentation: $210 Out of Pocket: $680
Residual: 56% ($23,648.80) Money Factor: 0.00106
Monthly Lease: $542
I assume the Money Factor too high? How should I proceed? Thanks in advance!
.00043 MF and 56% residual, assuming top tier credit. If your credit is good, then they are marking up the rate.
Michigan taxes the monthly lease payment, not the full price, so the tax number is irrelevant. Ask for the Adjusted CAP cost, to see how it differs from the sale price. (no mention of the $795 acquisition fee?). Also, ask for the pre-tax payment and the monthly sales tax.
I'm looking to lease a 2017 A4 Premium plus quattro with technology package for 24 month/15k mi or 36months/15k depending on how much difference there is. I'm in Central Florida.
MSRP $49,125 Sales price $45,500
Could you please tell me the MF and Residual would be in this case? What would you be expecting as lease/month? Also, my company has a corporate agreement with Audi in which we get 6% off the MSRP, do you know if this"hit" is taken by the dealership or by Audi itself? i.e. the dealership cannot really use this as an excuse not to lower the MSRP?

Using your prices, I get a pre-tax payment of $680/mo for 24 months or $558/mo for 36 months.
I'm not sure what you're asking regarding the corporate discount - you certainly won't get 6% off your best negotiated price. The corporate program fixes your selling price at 6% off sticker, which is pretty good for Audi. Could you do better on your own? I suppose, but you'll have to talk to a dealer to find out.

Thanks for the quick reply.
On the corporate discount, I was asking because in our corporate website, for other car brands it specifically asks you to negotiate the best price with the dealership and then apply the discount, which I thought was because this discount was applied by the brand and not affecting the dealership as such,

Regardless, this is great info, thanks again.
If the discount is a straight dollar amount, that makes sense.
But, most of the corporate programs I've seen show a fixed percentage discount from sticker (or over or below the invoice price).
Don't worry - the dealer won't agree to any deal where they are losing money, even if it looks like they are on paper.

Same MF, but the residual on the SOA trim is 2% higher than the Premium.
Hi! I'm new to leasing, and have been trying to learn the basics of Money Factor, Residual Value, etc. However, I started wondering: why not just make it easier and go to the leasing department, tell them you want to pay no more than $ X/month for X months, and let them figure out how to make it work? As long as the monthly payment amount is something I'm happy with, is there any point to haggling over the various percentages -- especially if I don't plan to buy the car at the end?

What if you give them a target of $450/mo but, if you had all the data, found that you could get the same car for $425/mo?
We suggesting knowing as much as you can about the numbers behind the deal - gives the dealer less room to play around with the numbers, to their advantage.
There are only two variables in a lease calculation - the selling price and the MF. You could score a fantastic discount from sticker, but if the dealer marks up the MF, you're still leaving money on the table.

Could I please get the numbers in CA for 2017 A4 Premium Plus Ultra FWD for both 36/12 and 36/15? I also plan to get Audi Care (assuming it's worth it?).
Afterward, do I just need to ask for the MSRP (and various fees) from the different dealerships?

Michaell, is the .00030 the average MF for CA, or the absolute lowest a dealer will offer, or....? I'd just like to know how much negotiating room there is.

That is the top tier rate available; the only way to get it lower is to use MSD.

2017 Audi A4 4dr Premium Quattro
MSRP: $42230
Adjusted Sales Price: $40404
Tax: $2438.28
Tag/Fees: $47
Doc Fee: 210
Total Cost: $43,099.28
----------
MF: .000083
Residual: $23648 (I come up w/ 58%)
Payment: 575-584 w/nothing down ($846 out of pocket)
$544-553 w/$1000 down ($1875 out of pocket)
This is before credit check etc...
Questions:
1) Is the mf correct, or inflated?
2) When I run these numbers I am coming up with $526... am I reading this wrong?
Thanks in advance for all of your help!
2. Lease tax in MI is assessed against the monthly payment, not up front. Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is; that should clear up any confusion with the pricing.
And, I don't see the Audi acquisition fee mentioned anywhere - that's $795.

MF: .00077
Drive off: $2,500
Monthly Payment: $402 (or something around there) including tax, which is 9.25%
I got them down to $395/mo. but ultimately didn't consummate the deal because I wanted a little more time to research and shop around and fortunately stumbled upon this forum in the meantime.
(Sorry for the long post, just didn't want to leave anything out)
The only model we show with 60% residual for 36/7.5K is a Quattro SOA model. (.00043 MF)
Using the numbers given to you, I get $376/mo.+tax, assuming all other costs are paid upfront.
The residual concerns me, and I wonder if they are using a 3rd party bank (which would be really unusual for an Audi dealer).

Looking at A4 Premium plus Quattro with tech package. MSRP $47,375. 36mo/15k term. Shooting for no money down and a negotiated sales price of about $42,637 (91% of MSRP) based on what some folks have mentioned here. Let me know if any other information is needed!
Texas applies sales tax against the entire selling price. $795 acquisition fee, dealer fee, DMV costs.
Up front money should be only first payment and DMV costs - roll everything else into the lease payment.
Is the bonus cash and comp payment a Texas leasing promo or national? The dealer I went to offered me neither one and showed me a Feb leasing program email and it wasn't on there
Audi has four regions. Texas is in the Southern Region, and doesn't have those incentives.
Sorry for the misinformation.

I am trying to lease 2017 Audi A4 Premium Quattro + Convenience Package for 12k miles and 36 months.
MSRP: $42,230
Sale Price: $38,430
Tax: $2,445.84 (MI)
Tag and Titles: $47
Documentation: $210
Out of Pocket: $680
Residual: 56% ($23,648.80)
Money Factor: 0.00106
Monthly Lease: $542
I assume the Money Factor too high? How should I proceed? Thanks in advance!

MSRP $49,125
Sales price $45,500
Could you please tell me the MF and Residual would be in this case? What would you be expecting as lease/month? Also, my company has a corporate agreement with Audi in which we get 6% off the MSRP, do you know if this"hit" is taken by the dealership or by Audi itself? i.e. the dealership cannot really use this as an excuse not to lower the MSRP?
Thanks a lot!

On the corporate discount, I was asking because in our corporate website, for other car brands it specifically asks you to negotiate the best price with the dealership and then apply the discount, which I thought was because this discount was applied by the brand and not affecting the dealership as such,
Regardless, this is great info, thanks again.
But, most of the corporate programs I've seen show a fixed percentage discount from sticker (or over or below the invoice price).
Don't worry - the dealer won't agree to any deal where they are losing money, even if it looks like they are on paper.

Thanks for the insight!

1. 10K/yr
2. 12k/yr
3. 15k/yr
Thanks and appreciate your help.
Afterward, do I just need to ask for the MSRP (and various fees) from the different dealerships?
Thank you!
