    Just wondering what you guys think of these numbers. I went in to check out a Sedona tonight, but they are dealing well on the Sorento and I'm interested to see if this is a good deal. This is on an LX 4 cylinder with the tech package.

    MSRP: 29875

    SALE PRICE: 24000 (after 3000 lease cash plus haggling)

    Residual: 59%

    MF: .00005

    Monthly cost: $275 tax in. 

    Heres why I'm curious if this is a good deal. They want $2500 up front, which they claim is $1800 inceptions and $700 cap cost reduction. $1800 sounds high for inceptions, but they are cutting me a check for the final month and disposition fee of my current lease ($815) so I'm guessing they're just making me pay it there.

    Ask the dealer for the breakdown of the inceptions - we'd suggest you skip the $700 in cap reduction.

    Yes.. the 39 month program is basically the same as the 36 month program, giving you three months with no extra depreciation.

They also rolled in the last month of my current lease plus disposition fee into the monthly payments ($815). Does this look Kosher? ** Yes that's a high dealer fee, par for the course in South Fl

    I ended up with a different Trim when I got to the dealership.



    Overall, it seems like a good deal for me. This was a zero drive off deal.

    The rental surcharge is a state fee, so the tax isn't collected upfront. (KY has that also).
    That "Tag Proc Fee" looks like another BS fee ($298). I don't think that's a government fee.
    Between the dealer fee and that fee, they are adding $1100 to your deal.

    couple of questions about leasing:
    1) what fees should I pay upfront? registration/licensing/doc/acquisition fees?
    2) does it make sense to buy the car if market value is higher than residual value at end of lease?

    1) First payment and non-taxable fees at lease signing (acquisition and doc fees are taxable)
    2) Sure, but the chances of that happening are slim. Don't lease, if your intention is to eventually own the car.
