Can you elaborate on what kind of discount and rebates this is? I would assume the $7,500 tax credit is included in the Dealer Discount but wonder what that additional $200 dealer discount and $8,500 rebates are. Thank you!

I think your assumptions are wrong.
The $7700 is a discount from MSRP. The negotiated purchase price The $8500 in rebates are $7500 in lieu of the tax credit, plus another $1000 from BMW
This may be a little off topic, but I think it is OK since it deals with an i3 coming off lease and is an option I am exploring in competition to a new i3 lease. Any help or thoughts you can provide would be welcome data points. Thanks in advance.
My car is a 2015 REx Tera w/ everything coming off 2 yr. lease end of DEC. Contractual residual is $31.6k. Mileage will be about 24k at end of lease. My dealer is offering to sell it to me for $20.2k + $1,210 if I want the car CPOd (+ cost of tires if needed). Just had my end of lease inspection yesterday. Don't have report yet, but inspector said all 4 tires will pass (surprised!).
I have had 0 problems with the car during the 22 mos. and really like it. They will also likely work with me to allow me to turn it in in DEC, take a loaner for a week or so while they CPO it and clean it up) and buy it in JAN to avoid a year of taxes (which, in KY, will be a big amount).
When I buy, I think I will get 1 or 2 yr. EVgo free charging access with a CPO, but will confirm. I currently use it fairly often as there is a DC Fast Charger at a Wal*Mart close to my work and no chargers or plugs at work.
I also think I will be eligible for 0% financing over 60 mos. for the purchase of a CPO.

They are going to sell it to you for $10K under the residual amount? That seems very hard to believe.
Can you provide the money factor, residual and lease cash for 2017 i3 in California? Looking at pricing on a 24/30/36 month options with 15k lease. Do these numbers vary per trim level, Deka, Giga, Tera?
And do all the dealers generally give the full $7500? Do you get add'l rebates even if you don't currently have a BMW? (They'd be getting me out of a Mercedes, so potentially converting a competitor.)

Does that seems like a reasonable?
Amortizing $2500 of your drive-off over the lease term, means you are paying about $550/mo. for an i3. That seems like a lot. But, you picked the highest priced i3 on the planet. Not knowing your state or tax rate, or, the adjusted CAP cost, or breakdown of your $3000, it's hard to say, exactly. But, it doesn't look far off.
Be aware that there is a FULL STOP on all sales and leases of new and used BMW i3s currently due to a potential recall. Not an issue if you have one and wear your seat belt. That said, may be tough to get anything done and delivered for some period of time. Google it if you want details.
Couple of questions... BMW is offering a $1000 i3 loyalty rebate in CA and OR. I live in WA but will buy in OR and I am told I don't qualify. Anyone know one way or the other?

Here is what I just signed for a 2017 BMW i3 Rex (36mon/10k in Northern California): MSRP: 56,545 Selling Price: 51,110 (~10% discount) Rebates: 12.5k Drive-off Cash: 2,200 ($0 cash after my old car trade-in) RV: 58% Lease Payment: 350 (including 9.25% tax)
MF was inflated a bit, but considering the rebates and our desired configuration of the car (driving & parking assistant packages with 20" wheels), we signed the deal. This may effectively work out as 11.5K rebates without MF inflation.
I got plenty of help on this forum and want to thank you all!

Yes, selling price includes all the rebates, 8k discount + 11500 in rebates. They got back with MF, as suspected, its marked all the way up to .0192. Its very hard to get all the numbers broken down from them.

As always, thank you Michaell.
That's becoming more common - big discount but inflated MF.
I'll bet that if you ask for the base MF, you'll lose some of that discount from sticker.
Agreed. I was wondering what would be better - base Mf or discounted selling price? What do you think of overall deal, though?
Regardless of how they get there, if you can drive a $54k car for $289/mo. and $0 out of pocket, that's a screamer. I am finishing a 2 yr. lease on a fully loaded 2015 i3 REx for $249/mo. but had to stack 7 security deposits to get there.
1 - make sure 10k miles is enough for you 2 - any chance they are using a "rogue" residual to get that payment? Would suspect not if through BMWFS. Even if they are using the right residual, it won't be economically realistic at the end of 3 yrs. which makes the 10k miles even more important. When you can't just "buy it" to avoid all the over lease miles, you're stuck.

The chances of a BMW dealer using a bank other than BMWFS is almost zero..

Payment for 36 months would probably be slightly higher.. within $10/mo.
Don't you get $2500 back from the state, as well? That tilts it further towards 30 months as the best term.

Am I missing any rebates? This seems like a bad deal... What should I be shooting for?
Thanks!
The base money factor is .00152
Is the $978 the upfront tax on the rebates?
The payment looks about right, given those numbers, though the MF markup is adding about $23/mo.
Any time a payment is $499/mo, it makes me thing they are adding all they can, to just slip under $500/mo.
