MA taxes the monthly payment on a lease - I'd ask for a full breakdown of what goes into the $4K delta between the sale price and the final price.

Ok, using agreed vehicle price of $51,660 and residual value of $31,108 the tax should be 7% of (51660 - 31108) = $1,438.64. If that is divided by 36 payments = $39.96.

Would I take this figure and add it to the $490 you calculated to get the total payment of $529.96? If their deal for $510/mo. includes taxes is this a good deal? Maybe I'm doing this wrong.

Not exactly how they calculate it, but it's close enough.

The problem is, they have this big chunk of your money ($6000), and you don't know exactly how it's applied, or what you are paying for. The payment looks reasonable, because you are putting a lot of money upfront. Ask for an accounting of every dime.

What is the MSRP? I'll assume $67,725 and that the residual quoted is for 36/12?

.00006 MF and 50% residual for 36/15. (52% for 36/12).
On 36/12, I get $947/mo. vs. their $962. (not too far off)

I have a question about the "Inception Fees Due ($1040.43)".
This appears to be in addition to the $795 acquisition fee and $250 dealer doc fee.
What is that for? DMV fees in Ohio can't be much over $100, I don't think.

So, maybe an extra $900 in fees, and a slight money factor markup?
Plus a middling 4.4% discount.

That is one expensive A6 lease payment.

Fortunately, it's the best looking sedan on the road!

I would only be entertaining a 36/15 option, 12k would be cutting it too close.

Okay... so, the CAP cost quoted is for a "Zero due at signing" lease, as it includes the first payment. Makes sense now.

I get $984/mo, instead of their $1003, but that's a small difference, given the size of the lease payment. (with zero due at signing).

Not sure I could stomach a $1000 lease payment for an A6. Of course, I'm not shopping in that price range, anyway.

You need to consider the acquisition fee of $925, the DMV costs and the state tax (NY taxes the sum of the monthly payments and collects that money up front - you can pay when you sign the paperwork or add the tax into the cap cost).

If you pay all the taxes and fees up front - meaning, the selling price is the cap cost - then I get a payment of $633/mo.

Monthly Payment (includes tax and Audi care): $708

Due at signing $1,610. I know due at signing is bit higher as registration is not that expensive when added to $795 bank fee. I did not want to argue over this.

Plus I am turning in my 2015 Prestige clean (with 7 months left on the lease). I was getting multiple offers including someone making last min ditch to reduce monthly to $699 and reduced due by $400 but I stayed with the deal and paid the deposit.
Sales guy was on vacation after we reached our deal over the phone and did not get deposit from me when we agreed to numbers above. I didn't want to back off for few buck as sales person was honest and friendly..

When you say "With NJ Tax" I assume taxes are rolled in but unless I am missing something (probably the case as I am terrible at math) I come up w/ $720 before taxes.

That is correct, he dropped the monthly to match other offer I had, I did not bother to get revised cap costs.. Another dealer in NJ dropped it further to $699 month,which I declined.
