Sorry if this is repetitive but new to the forum. Trying to determine if this is good deal on 2017 GLC300 2WD 36/10K in Southern Cal. Got an initial quote (without negotiating) as follows: MSRP $47575, sale price $43,575 (8.4% discount off new model seemed good???), Dest & Del is $925, residual $28,545. Monthly payments of $623.47. Drive off is $1,200 (includes tax Registration $354 + doc fee $80 + First payment). Vehicle has more options than we wanted but will be available this week. Thoughts?

.00153 MF and 60% residual
Is the price $43,575? Or, is it $43,575 + $925? If it's the latter, then that's only 6.5% off MSRP.
If I add $925 + $795 acquisition fee to your sale price, then I get a payment of $578/mo.+tax, which seems pretty close to your quote.
$43,575 includes the $925 Destination & Delivery Charge so I believe it is 8.4% discount from MSRP of $47,575. This seemed pretty good as it is a 2017 model fully loaded. My OOP at delivery is $1,200 which includes $500.75 in fees and first payment of $623.47. Sounded like a good deal but wanted to confirm. Since the model they have in stock has expensive options we don't need (panorama roof, LED headlamps, etc.) would it make sense to order one which would have a lower cost?

I always like to deal for a car that's on the lot.
You should be able to get a much better discount for a car that you special order, but then you will need to wait for anywhere between 2.5-3 months to get it delivered !
Depreciation is the difference between the residual value of MSRP (27,198) and the negotiated cap cost (42,443.50) = $15,245.95. Therefore the depreciation part of the payment is $423.50, not $437.
Quick question on this comment, what %age interest does this MF map to? Im thinking if it is in the 4% range then should the interest component not be - 15245 X 4% = 609$ per year which should be close to $50 per month instead of the $106 we are calculating.

About 3.7%
But, you aren't financing the depreciation, you are financing the full CAP cost of the vehicle. (and, paying it down to the residual amount).
Over the lease term, finance charges are applied to an average of the CAP cost and residual amounts.
Hi Experts, I've got the following deal. Could you have a quick look at the numbers if they look alright?
GLC 300 36 / 10
MSRP $45635 - Discount $2258 Gross Cap Cost $43376.89 + Luxury Tax $173.51 Net Cap Cost $43550.40
MF 0.0015 / RV: 60%
Monthly: $555.55
Acquisition Fee $995 Tax Payment Upfront ($1400 = $555.55 x 0.07 x 36) Reg. License. Etc $ 218 Doc. Fee $ 134 Total Drive Off: $ 3,330
Also, with the credit score in between 700 - 720, is it likely to get the MF of 0.0015? Thanks!
I confirm the .00150 MF and 60% residual.
Acquisition fee is marked up - base is $795.
I get the same payment as the dealer quote. Only way to improve the deal is to get a better discount from sticker. Or, if the dealer allows it, use MSD to buy down the money factor.

Thanks so much for the answer.
The dealer shop says that the acquisition fee is given from the system. They are in Manhattan, so would that be a legitimate answer?
Also, when I do the math, they're basically giving me a 5% discount. I know it's funny to ask, but would it be OK if I push for more, say 7-8%?

It's not from the system; they are trying to pull a fast one on you.
And, it's OK to ask for whatever price you're willing to pay.
Waited 3 months for the special order of my GLC300 only to have the dealer suggest an inflated MF for it. He quoted 0.00203 and suggested this was a policy at the dealership to mark it up by 0.0005. He only got down to 0.00183 with autopay and 0.00155 with 4 MSD. Not sure whether I should go for the deal or not considering we worked together for 3 months and he tried to pull a fast one me with such inflated numbers. Issue is, there is no other GLC in the whole of Cali with the options I built it with so I cant just walk to another dealer. What a bummer
Here is his quote for a 0.00183 MF with 57% residual which is also off from my calculations by $20 per month. Could experts please help with why the difference?

They mix purchase and lease numbers together on the same form. As you know, CA taxes the monthly payment on a lease, so their tax amount is irrelevant.
And, not only is the MF marked up, but so is the acquisition fee (base is $795 for MBFS).
Using the MSRP of $47,715 and the adjusted cap cost of $43,538 (MSRP - discount - fleet + acq fee), I get $634/mo, which is pretty close to the dealer quote. The MF markup is costing you about $23/mo.
The delta is due to the fact that the residual is based on the widow sticker only, not the window sticker plus the acquisition fee.

Special orders do put you at a disadvantage. Why didn't you negotiate the terms when you placed the order?

We negotiated the discounts etc. I thought based on the credit scores they would honor the MF or quote something slightly higher and be willing to negotiate. What they quoted is outrageous !
Experts, Another quick question. Does the Acquisition cost need to be a part of the adjusted cap? Can one not pay it upfront? I was looking at payments with/without it in the cap and with it in the cap one ends up paying close to 220$ More over the course of 36 months. If that is indeed the case why would anyone want to add it to the cap? Thanks !!

You can do either. If it's $220 more over the life of the lease, then your calculations are wrong. If you pay it upfront, it gets taxed upfront, so don't leave that out. I recommend that you roll it in. More important? Paying the base $795 fee, and not the marked up $1095 fee.
I am in the market to possibly lease a base 2017 or 2016 2WD GLC ($0 down, 36 mos., 10K miles). I have built a spreadsheet with the following data and am planning to go to dealers with this exact breakdown to better control negotiations.
Would appreciate any feedback. Also, wondering when October residuals and MFs will be available?
1. Sticker price + options = $39,150 2. Times residual value % = 60% 3. Equals residual value = $23,490 4. Invoice price minus incentives (net capitalized cost) = $36,410 5. Minus residual (from line 3) = ($23,490) 6. Equals depreciation over 36 months = $12,920 7. Depreciation (line 6) divided by term in months = 36 8. Equals monthly depreciation payment = $359

What year is this for? RWD or 4Matic? Numbers are different for each, and I want to confirm you are using the right ones.
Second, the $925 transportation fee should already be in the sticker price, and shouldn't be counted twice.
Since I don't know the tax rate in LA, I couldn't do that part of the calculations, but the math is correct for the numbers provided on the pre-tax payment.
Just negotiated the selling price for a 2017 rwd glc300 to be $38,905
Original MSRP will be $43,905. can i get estimated payments considering all fees constant. for 36/10K and 36/12K so i can have an estimate of what my payments will be.
Also I will be the max MSD to bring the money factor down. Thank you for your help.

MSRP = 47715
- 10% Discount = 42943.5
- Fleet Discount 500 = 42443.5
47715 * 0.57 = 27198
47715 - 27198 - 500 - 4771.5 = 15750
15740 / 36 = 437
(42443 + 27198) = 69641 * 0.00153 = 106
437 + 106 = 543
543 * 0.085 (considering 8.5% tax) = 46
543 + 46 = 589
Depreciation is the difference between the residual value of MSRP (27,198) and the negotiated cap cost (42,443.50) = $15,245.95. Therefore the depreciation part of the payment is $423.50, not $437.
Total payment, with tax, is $575.10.

Here is my calculation -
MSRP = 47715

- Fleet Discount = 500
47715 + 1095 (Acquisition Fees) = 48810
48810 * 0.57 = 27821
48810 - 27821 - 500 - 4771.5 = 15717
15717/36 = 436
(43538 + 27821) = 71359 * 0.00183 = 130.5
436 + 130.5 = 566.5
566.5 * 0.0875 (considering 8.75% tax) = 49.5
566.5 + 49.5 = 616
