does this seem like a good deal?
I get $583mo with those prices and terms. Assuming you are getting autopay to bring the MF down to .00155.
I don't see the sales tax as part of your up front costs - are you rolling them into the lease payment? That might account for the difference between my numbers and the dealers.
Hello, Could you please help me with Dec & Jan 2017 MF and RV for a 36 / 7,500 GLC300 AWD in Chicago, IL?
Also, dealer is pushing a "balloon" lease, due to Chicago taxes. They offer little explanation of the difference. What is this?
Current offer on the car is $48,500 + 8.5% tax. Should I pay tax upfront, or is it better to roll into the lease?
Dealer is also pushing me to apply my $12k trade-in to the purchase, because tax will be against the final price - $36,500. What are your thoughts on this?

.00165 and 61% for 36/7.5K
A balloon note is similar to a lease, except the car is titled in your name rather than the banks. The advantage is one of taxes, as the dealer noted.
Chicago taxes the monthly payment, so there is no tax against the selling price. What hurts, however, is that the state of Illinois also taxes your lease, but they assess tax as the sum of the payments, and collect it up front. The total tax burden is something like 17%.
If you lease, don't use the trade in - have the dealer cut you a check. If you go with the balloon loan, then the tax obligation will be reduced with the trade.

.00152 MF and 59% residual for 36/10.
Are you sure that's the MSRP? Because that doesn't match the residual. Maybe, that's the selling price? MSRP would have to be $50,750 to match that residual.

I get $592/mo.+tax, so pretty close.
The acquisition fee is marked up from the $795 base. I don't think I'd pay over $30/mo. for "lease protection"
I'm set to lease a GLC Coupe, picking up next week in Germany via European Delivery, but I feel that the dealer I'm working with is trying to squeeze me for more money than necessary.
The MSRP is $51,540 Sales price $46901 36 months, 10k miles per year
I have a friend in the car industry who told me that the MF is 60% residual, and the MF is .00152, on my particular car. The dealer is telling me that the MF is .00192 (I understand that with European Delivery it should be .0002 higher, they are telling me its .0004 higher). The acquisition fee they are giving me is $1095. According to their website, on the other cars its $795. I've read on a Mercedes Forum that the acquisition fee is non negotiable and should be the same for all the customers.
Is my dealer trying to squeeze me for more $ or are they within their right to raise those fees?
PS - under normal circumstances I would shop around, but since its European Delivery, I don't have much room, other than to cancel the order.

Not familiar with Mercedes' ED program, so I can't tell you if they are marking it up, or not. If it's .00020, that's not a big markup, though. $795 is the base acquisition fee, but dealers are permitted to mark it up by $300 for extra profit. Your info from the other forum is wrong.
You are correct. It's a little late to negotiate your terms, now.
The money factor markup adds $15/mo. Along with the acquisition fee markup, that's $840 total. Not enough to worry about, in the context of taking European Delivery. And, too late to do anything about it, unless you just want to complain, and see if they'll adjust terms (probably way too late, if you've already signed).
The paperwork is being drawn up, so I just wanted to make sure they can have a markup on those 2 things - they are a business and obviously they have to make money, I just don't want them to do something they're not allowed to do.
They discounted the price of the car an additional 1%, which came out to be around $500 - so that kind of offsets the MF/acqusition fee increase.

Each security deposit is the amount of the monthly payment, rounded up to the next $25 or $50 amount.
So, on a $495/mo. payment, each SD would be $500.
The dealer discounted the price from 50,135 to 47,728. But quotes MF at .00168. Should I insist on a better MF?

Be polite and tell them you won't sign a deal with a marked up MF; they know what the base rate is.

Argh. Find out if you can 'lock in' the current MF and residual from this month, with the option to use the updated numbers (if they are in your favor) when the car arrives at the dealer. Other brands allow this; not certain with MB.

Hi Michaell, I have several questions. Please confirm the MF and RV for the GLC300 4Matic for 24mo/15k. I'm still waiting to hear back from rhe dealer. I was already given the MF and RV for 36/15k at .00148/56% which is with autopay. Is this correct? Also, I was told by the dealer here in NJ that the $1095 acquisition fee was set by MB and cannot be lowered. Is this accurate? Thank you.

.00148 MF and 64%/56% residual for 24/36 months, 15K/yr Autopay should lower that to .00138. Base acquisition fee for Mercedes is $795. Dealer can mark it up for extra profit. Guess how much they are allowed to mark it up?

What is the full breakdown of the $4550 due at signing?
As is, I get $642/mo before tax with your prices.
Thanks Michaell.
The $4550 is the out the door price. I believe it includes tax and all other fees and perhaps some partial down payment.
I am not sure how the maintenance cost $975 is used in calculation. Do dealers calculate the monthly payment base on MSRP then add the maintenance/month, or they add maintenance cost to MSRP and then calculate? Or they simply give customer free 3-year maintenance.

We've seen Mercedes dealers calculate it both ways. If they can residualize it, that's a bonus, of course.

No clue on what type of pricing you can expect - read through the last couple of pages of this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.
Acquisition fee can be waived, but MF goes up as a result. Not something we'd recommend.
.00010 deduction on the MF for auto pay

Autopay should lower that to .00138.
Base acquisition fee for Mercedes is $795. Dealer can mark it up for extra profit. Guess how much they are allowed to mark it up?

Thanks Michaell.
The $4550 is the out the door price. I believe it includes tax and all other fees and perhaps some partial down payment.
I am not sure how the maintenance cost $975 is used in calculation. Do dealers calculate the monthly payment base on MSRP then add the maintenance/month, or they add maintenance cost to MSRP and then calculate? Or they simply give customer free 3-year maintenance.
No.. it's not free.
