2017 accord LX with manual transmission for $18,637 before tax and license.   Is that a good price in California.  Not sure I’m too late in the game.  Thanks

$2794 below invoice which is in line with many good deals in CA. I would try for a better deal . Since its a Manuel and most buyers are not knocking down the doors for it tell this dealer you will buy it for 18k.

    Also

Either ask the dealership or Check the drivers door for vehicles production date. Another buyer told me his LX Manuel was sitting on the lots for 8 months. How that's possible don't know but I guess it could happen if one dealer trades with another dealer thru the year. If this vehicle has some lot time under its belt could result in you saving a few more $$$. Especially If you hold out and play hardball with this dealer. Good luck

Hi all. Thank you for the info everyone posts. Here is my story. negotiated over the phone with 2 dealers on a 2017 Accord LX. OTD prices were came at $22,000 and $21,500. I went to see the better offer. Both dealers where whilling to seal the deal over the phone with a credit card deposit.
Unfortunately, when I went to the dealership the LX was being tested by someone else and ended up buying a 2017 Accord Sport for $23,000 OTD. Tax in NC is 3%

buzzcity.........Tell dealer 1 that dealer 2 will sell you any Lx model for XX price match or beat for the sale today. Use this tactic with all dealers in your area that have your model.

He already bought the Sport. Nice car, I’d pay $1500 more for that package

Hello everybody. First time car buyer. I pit Paragon Honda and Hillside Honda against each other. Paragon was offering a Honda Accord EX, starting 25,500. I asked Hillside if they could do better, and they came back with 24,750, that's excluding tax, title, etc. Am I getting screwed? Thanks in advance.

    @brian125 this was in Missouri.

The price included delivery fee and everything else. It was essentially $18,880 (includes delivery fee) plus documentation fee of $199 plus an accessories package for around $660. Out the door taxes not included was $19,660 or something close to that.

I just received this lease deal for a 2017 Honda Accord LX Manual. I’m looking for any advice as I’ve never leased a car so your input is appreciated.

    -Zip Code: 19341
-36 months 12k miles per year
    -transmission: manual

    -MSRP: $23,330
    -Adjusted Cap Cost: $21,326
    -Net Residual: 52% ($12,131.60)
    -MF: 0.000592
-Down payment: $575…this includes 1st months payment along with title fee, license fee, registration fee and documentation fee

    Monthly Payment (includes tax): $299.90

For this being a 2017 LX model and manual transmission, I think this monthly payment seems high? Has the MF been marked up? I also find it odd that they are not offering any incentives?

Wanted to get everyone’s thoughts and recommendations in terms of what I should come back with for a counter-offer.

Ideally, I’d like to be closer to $225/month.

what is the lease cash on an LX manual? 3150 i believe. they are not giving you a fair price as that deal is very high!

shoot for 500 driveoff and 35 additional payments of 225 per month

Many years ago I had a Honda shipped to Paragon Honda from Ohio when the Pilots just hit the market in 2003 . Paragon mysteriously sold it to another customer for full sticker knowing I had Vin and paperwork already in place. When Honda rerouted another one to Queens 3 weeks later Paragon made sure all accessories I wanted were free of charge . Paragons greed worked in my favor

when i negotiate a car i never ever enter the dealership until i sign the paperwork. you dont need to test drive a new car, once you decide what you want you call a few dealerships to find the deal. I called every dealer with the car and options i wanted 2017 EX-L V6 Silver with Black interior, about 9 different ones. How the dealership works or how they deal with things doesnt phase me, its whoever gets me the best price.

I did make a deal on the same car at Paul Miller Honda in NJ and the salesman there agreed on a deal with me and never returned an email, text or call. I think he was writing checks he couldnt cash. Luckly i got a better deal with paragon.

@yourname1245.. just like to add onto your post to help other 1st time buyers.

I recommend always test driving new vehicles. I have been high on certain models and after the test drive did not want it.

First 3 weeks of any month is when you do your pre- homework including test drives and desired model , make a target dealers list and spread sheet with internet mgr. names , email, dealers doc fee charge etc.

Secure outside finance. Once you do your homework then your ready to buy and negotiate at months end.

I bought a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Base Model from Open Road Honda (New Jersey) on Oct 30th.

MSRP: $30,480 (this price includes destination)
    Vehicle Price: $24,300
    7% Tax: $1,700
Doc Fee: $400 (hefty, but the norm for NJ dealerships)
    DMV Fee: $300
(Out the door) Total Price $26,700

I think I scored a solid deal…hopefully the moderators will confirm. I waited end of month as suggested by brian125. I do think this strategy works. However, I did not call around because 2017 supply is dwindling and only two local (within 50 miles radius) dealerships with the color/trim preference I wanted.

Thanks to all that posted to this forum, it was tremendously helpful. Enjoying my new ride every day!

Congrats! Feel free to post a dealer review; there is a link in my signature block.

FYI, I paid a dealer fee of $500 on my Jetta lease last year.

And, I've seen fees as high as $900 in Florida.

Just bought new 2017 Accord LX CVT Auto for $20,499.99 OTD & financed thru Honda at 0.9% for 60 months, Dealership is Maryland and I am MD resident. Here is the break down....

fyi, 2017 inventory is very limited in (MD, DC and VA is very limited now) if you like something and price is good but not the best, you may want to pull the trigger.

    Purchase date 19-Nov-2017

MSRP $24,130.00 (no dealer add ons)

    Base selling price $17,892.50
    Destination cost $875.00
    Dealer Processing fee $299.00
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    tax at @ 6% $1,143.99
    tab & title cost $289.50
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    OTD cost $20,499.99

The dealer provides OTD cost on there site with the actual break down cost with express checkout, here is the site if anyone wants to compare cost. No other dealer wanted to match there price over email, they all just said, when can you come in we wont be under sold by our competition but non wanted to put in writing, a lot of them even did not provide OTD cost.

If I find a 2017 in PA or NJ should I stand firm on somewhere $3000 off invoice . I still have my other lease for 5 more months, so getting the best price makes it easier to swallow the dealer beat down.. Thoughts Sir?

Yes . I sent you dealer info / pricing. If you decide on the 18 model run out your old lease and buy in may. Accords should be well below invoice at that time

I'm looking at either a base hybrid or a sport SE. I'm hoping to lease them, rather than purchase at this time. How do these numbers look? The supply is pretty much depleted in my area (Atlanta), so I have to move quick. Is it better to lease, or buy based on these numbers? Thanks!

    Hybrid:
Lease - $189/mo for 36 mos. with $2,699 Cap Reduction. (MSRP: $30,440, Net Capitalized Cost $20,916.80 incl. $595 acquisition fee, total monthly payment $6,804, option to purchase at lease-end $14,611.20) Tax, tag and title are EXTRA.

    Purchase - $25,139.15 OTD

    Sport SE:
Lease- $268/mo for 36 mos. with $2,000 Cap Reduction. (MSRP: $27,100, Net Capitalized Cost $21,750, no other information given. Payment includes _tax_ on this one, I think.

    Purchase - $24,607.44 OTD

    Thanks.

Those look like ads, not offers.

In GA, you pay tax on the full selling price, even on a lease. That would push me towards buying, especially if you are willing to drive the car for longer than three years.
