I think they were well known for pedal cycles in the late 19th century - many British makes around Coventry were originally bike manufacturers as that was the centre of that trade before WW1.
That's right. Many folks think that automobiles sprang out of the horse-drawn carriage trade, but a great deal of early automobile technology came from the bicycle industry--such as the early chain drives, the spoke wheels, the tiller steering, and the business capital to get started.
guessing it is a Manic GT. Assume it is on a VW chassis?
That's a pretty good guess (you can read!) but it is not VW based thought it does resemble the GT bodies that were put on Beetle chassis particularly in Brazil. The Manic (pronounced man-eek) was based on this car>
I don't like the R10 either, but the R8 was more like a much improved Dauphine--more room and more power, and if you were lucky you could find an R8 Gordini, the French equivalent of Abarth. The R8 rallyed successfully.
I had a '91 (Late Gen I), and found it good-looking and fast but ultimately a great engine in search of a good car. It was prone to brake trouble, switch trouble, electrical glitches and a marginal cooling system.
The current one is probably a better car but didn't sell very well.
Remarkable that the '89 SHO was lauded for its advanced 24-valve 220HP engine. My Intrigue 10 years later matched those specs and was just a family sedan.
I don't know they year so I'll guess around 86 Mercury Colony Park. I think that chrome around the fake wood decal and the carriage lights set it off from its competitors. I recall that it could be a 10 passenger with the dual facing cargo area seats. I actually like it.
Movie is License to Drive. Fun flick with the Coreys. IIRC, the dad has a 5-series bimmer, possible e34, that also bites the dust in the film. And I think the mom had an early Audi. I'd guess maybe an 80 (model, not year).
Can't quite recall the year of grandpa's caddy. For some reason, '74 is in my head.

That's either a superimposed car photo or they planted the convertible there via helicopter or blimp.

Still looks pretty good too.
And one of the best looking engines, IMO

Reagan wasn't in this one
This one should be easier, car and movie:
'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S
That movie is a great memory, saw it again lately after many years - juvenile, but very amusing and nostalgic.

Per IMCDB, the Caddy is a 72. It belonged to the paternal grandfather, who loaned it to his son while he borrowed his son (the dad's) car.
Here's the mom's Audi, complete with lovely period correct sunset plates:
