The Hillman a bit back appears to be a Hunter, but it could be a an early 1967 "Arrow" version of the Minx.

Only way to tell from outside is the badges and the one on the wing is not clear on this monitor.

These cars have the handbrake on the right hand side on RHD versions - ie the door side...

That was a carry over from the previous "Audax" version of the Minx / Singer Gazelle / sunbeam Rapier which also had that - as did the Alpine.

our Volvo 144 had the handbrake next to the door. Only car I ever drove set up like that.

Yep, it's an 07 Ferrari599 GTB Fiorano, named after the test track they use near Maranello. Ferrari puts out a lot of different models in the course of a year, making it hard to keep track of what's what.

Yes - I drove Minx like the one in the picture once, when I was first driving in the 70's - it belonged to a friend who lent it to me to go somewhere. Only car I ever drove with the handbrake on the right of the driver's seat, until I started driving LHD cars years later when on holiday..
With the latter the other issue is of course a right handed gear lever, as we generally rent manual transmission cars because we usually get a small car if in Europe so we always get a 'stick shift'.

Opel Rekord? Never saw one in the US, but did in some car rags sometime in the past. Were they ever imported to here or Canada?

That's it, an early-'60s model. I don't think they ever came to North America. Odd proportions to the rear deck compared to the front of the car.

Buick dealers sold a version of the Opel Rekord back in the 50's here before the GT and Mantra. Pontiac sold Vauxhaul variants. But if that red car is one, that wasn't sold in the US as far as I recall. The red car kind of looks like a Packard designed by Pinfarina , but it isn't unless it was a custom showcase piece. What makes it hard to guess is the design makes the car look as if it was too big for Europe. PS - don't grade me on spelling here

Yup, it's up for auction this month in Scottsdale. Body is by Frua who did a lot of subsequent Masers. He liked the side vents and put them on several of his Ferraris and Maseratis.

Yep, one and the same, based on the chrome thingy that extends from the front fender to the front door.
