Don't know. At first I thought SoCal somewhere but then I realized not enough late model cars.

I thought it was somewhere in Va as the Palace sign has VA in the bottom script.

The photo was taken by a James Brumfield in 1959. His son, Dale, has a website displaying his father's photos.
If you go there, click on "1950s Kodachrome". Nice shots of 1950s cars there.

Several of the posters at TOM think the photo is of Waynesboro VA, If so the open pit mine was likely for coal. A couplr think it could be Butte Montana (I doubt it).

Almost no Ferraris post-2000 do anything for me at all.

Apparently that's the new baby model.

Mostly i feel the same way, only a few recent Ferraris ring my bell but this new one does. it's called the Ferrari 296 GTB, they call it the first 6 cylinder Ferrari because none of the Dinos ever officially wore a Ferrari badge. The 6 cylinders are part of a hybrid electric power train generating over 800hp.

    That would work for me.

What wouldn't work for me is spending megabucks on a Pagani, Lamborghini or any of thje supercar pretnders that lack the racing heritage of Ferrari, Porche or even Ford..

The 296's styling is derivative but it looks great to me.

I like the old school Paganis, traditional MB V12 under the hood. The rest are similar for me, a 90s Diablo turns my head more than a new TestaStrettaVenta or similar, and I will take a 959 over any new Porsche.

No doubt that new Ferrari is objectively superior to older models in almost every way, but it's the design that does it for me, and on some cars, the noise.

A couple of Yank Tanks in front by the big doors, a 1957 Bel Air 2door next to a '63 Impala 4-door, and there's a dark colored American to their left next to something pretty old. You know I've seen several people say the Dutch have a real affinity for American iron and this picture sure indicates that.

Yep there's a dark colored squarebird back there.

I see two fintails, a W110 (lower line car) in the back, and a coupe in the middle, likely a 220SE.

Edsel image works fine for me.

i don't "get" your reference to Ricky Ricardo. i recal a mid-50s Pontiac convertible being featured in a feature film based on a vacation trip by the Ricardos and Mertzes.

Most recognizable car and possibly one of the newest is the dark "Step-down" Hudson making a left.
Car with the sunshape coming towards camera might be a Kaiser or Frazer. i'll leave the rest to you guys

Odd to see so many dark colored cars in a hot place like N'Awlins.

It most certainly is not a 1958. I believe it is actually a 1956, not a 1955, based on the positioning of the front bumper "bombs".

That's right. I was comparing the side trim, not the dagmars on the front bumper.
Apparently the 55 and 56 had the same or similar side trim, while the US Mercury
had different side trim for the two years.

A couple of Studes incoming. A late ‘40s up front and a bullet-nose (50 or 51) farther back. I see what I believe is another late ‘40s outbound (light, near the top of the picture, just off the right front fender of the Nash that’s in the left lane).

I like the (64?) El Camino, parked next to a flat window Barracuda.

next to the falcon, in front of a Bettle, looks like a Volvo 140.

hiding behind the tail fin Caddy is some sort of small sports car but no clue what one.

67 Galaxie lower left and another behind the pop top VW, those and a 67+ Bird a few rows back on the left side are some of the newer cars.

Center right, Datsun pickup with a canopy. A few back from that, 60 Cadillac 6 window sedan. Towards the back left, a dark colored MB Ponton.

The Triumph is a TR-4A which superseded the TR-4 from 1965-67. The 4A could be ordered with an optional Independent rear suspension (IRS). Since it was optional not all had it (my 1966 TR-4A didn't)
if so the main differences were a different grille, a small IRS badge and a beautiful walnut dash.

The wire wheels were optional as well.

apparently the station wagon is a '64/5 Skylark.

Sorry - I missed your posting from the Netherlands

There is a DAF pick-up between the M-B Ponton in the front row and it's hiding a Morris Mini Traveller - a non-wood bodied one

We also have a 2door Ford Consul Classic beside the Citroen DS

Couple more Brits - a Ford Zephyr 4 a couple of Vauxhall Cresta PAs and a Victor FB behind the M-B SE two door in the middle rear section
