    When I was but a tyke (4 or 5 yo) one of my father's co-workers and his wife owned one of these. It was (as I remember) a kind of light fuchsia. It had a striped surrey top, and other decorations I don't remember specfiically. Down each side it said "Myassis Dragon". It was several years before I got the joke.

    Yup, the Lancia Aprilia was a prewar (1939) design that carried over into the 1950s until it was replaced by the the Appia in 1954. Like many Lancias it was an advanced design that was tested for good aerodynmics in a Turin wind tunnel and was powered by a narrow angle V4.

    Oh wow. That car at the pump with the hood up is a Sunbeam Rapier. Not that common in the good old U S of A.

    Given that Rapiers were pretty rare n the US I'm inclined to think it's probably the much more common Hillman Minx, That said, at The Old Motor they think it's a '63 Sunbeam. The Olds looks to be a decade older ('53/4).

    Car at the pump is 100% a Sunbeam, Minx never existed with that trim or particular bodystyle (the Minx "Californian" hardtop was the prior generation).

    my dad's first new car was a Sunbeam Rapier series II just like that one posted above - his one was I think from 1960.

    It broke down for the first few months but they got good use out of it thereafter - two tone blue it was.

    I was mistaken Cadillacs sported three section rear glass in MYs 1950/51/52. Curious that they introduced 3-piece rear windows at the same time they introduced one piece windshields

    Not sure which cars you're referring to. The car on left w the whitewalls is a "Shoebox Ford ('49-'51). The two cars behind it are 46-48 models. Another 49-51 behind them and another'46-'48

    Those two Shoeboxes are the two I mentioned. The white walled one is a 49 Ford and the fourth car is the 50 Ford. Neither can be 51’s due to a single crown in the grill center. A 51 has two!

    I suspected that pic looked familiar but it seems the search function here has changed for the worse as it no longer returns results from the discussion you are currently in, so it is impossible to find past posts.

    This one is a good pic as it expands greatly and there are a lot of identifiable vehicles off in the distance.

    Parked infront of the luncheonette is a 1980s Mercury Capri. This second gen of the Capri was basically a rebadged hatchback Mustang.

    Janis Joplin was not the only one to get an OpArt paint job on her car. I thought the driver shown must be a rocker I'd forgotten about but he's Tara Brown an heir to the Guiness Brewery fortune and a pal of the Beatles.

    Looks like a type of AC. Appears too big for a Cobra, but I could be wrong.

    It's a small block (289cid) Cobra (1963-5). The fenders have been modified and the small "Powered by Ford" emblem is missing
