I like it. Kind of a spiritual successor to the old 850 sport spider.

    Yup, it's a 1995 Fiat Barchetta (barchetta=little boat), a front-drive roadster made until 2006. We traditionalist believe a fron't drive roadster is a bit of a sacrilege.

Yup, it's a '65 Shelby, the wooden steering wheel and tach were not on the regular Mustang GT. The second year (1966) version of the GT-350 didn't have the podded gauges shown, they were on the dash along with a circular speedo and tach.

The updated instrument panel with round gauges fit the sporty image of the Mustang much better than the dowdy Falcon based it originally had. The Pony interior was a nice improvement.

is that a blue with white top caddy on the side street, that looks like it ran up the sidewalk and into the side of the building?

Could be a Caddy but I think more likely it's a '58 or '59 Lincoln.

Well not a random "bunch of Mercs", they're all 1959MY. The photo illustrates very nicely the two different roof styles. Ours had the roof seen on the white car, IMO much more attractive than the style seen on the others.

Those cars were like most '59 Detroit iron, ill-handling pigs but in hardtop form (white car behind wagon).
they had fantastic outward vision with wraparound glass front and rear. Look at how the windshield glass wraps up into the roof. I think it may have been the biggest front glass ever put in a sedan.

I find it interesting that few Mercurys have whitewall tires. I thought they were popular then.

That Fiat Barchetta posted a bit back was not a car that was seen much here as Fiat didn't make it available RHD.

They did sell it through their dealers but just LHD - I think that it was provided with a Speedometer which was changed between from miles to kilometres per hour but am not sure about that (they may have had an electronic one which could do either).

Citroen 2CV center. Next to a Renault Dauphine.

Is blue coupe with fins a Taunus? Or Opel Rekord?

Green Panel nose looks like a Volvo PV but never saw one in that body style before.

Blue coupe with fins? 59-60 Buick. Volvo Amazon/122 beside it, looks like a VW Notchback beside that, and maybe a UK Ford Consul beside that.

Oh, the coupe in the foreground, indeed a Ford Taunus P2.

    Ponton is a 6cyl car.

Panel van is indeed a Volvo PV544, unsure if these went by the "Duett" name like the wagon.

Pretty sure the blue Buick is a 1959 sine the tail fins come to a point, they wre slightly rounded in 1960MY.

What about the red car on the right with the black roof? Resembles a '63 Cutlass as far as the tail lights go. But it's a sedan, so maybe an 88?

That’s a fun picture. I never liked sitting in the middle of the front seat, especially if it was a two door where you straddled the split in the seat backs had to skew your legs to the right because of the transmission tunnel. It wasn’t very comfortable.

We went 7 weeks without direct sunshine. However, when June came about and the winter rains departed, what a beautiful area of the country!

The car Just to the left of the Capri, based on the rear of the greenhouse, has to be a Volvo 144.

Magnette, take notice of the leftmost red panel on the window top (it's hard to read).

I think the whitewall tire in the showroom is attached to a Jaguar XK-120

I don't think I've ever seen a Magnette advert on a showroom window before.

That black & white sedan looks a bit odd for an Austin Cambridge but I think it looks funny because of the two tone paint - most of the A40/ A50 models were not two tone whereas the subsequent A 55 was.

Oh - happy Independence day to you all as well

Strong It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World vibe in that pic. Squire is a Fairlane, which is probably quite rare now. Big white wagon makes me think Mercury, not a 60 Ford.
