Masers weren't exactly prolific in my world either. I've only ever seen a single Vignale Spyder-- about ten years ago at a Scottsdale Auto Auction. I recognized it from perhaps 100 feet away,
Does the decorative plate on the C-pillar of that fintail make it a 300?
Not in this case. The fintail is a W111 220S or SE no newer than 1962 by the placement of the side mirror.
A W112 300SE had two styles - a C-pillar decoration (which is a cover for the flow-through ventilation outlet) with a bar in the middle denoting "300SE" (other cars lack this), or for the rare LWB model, no decorative cover nor ventilation outlet.
Yep. I knew you would get it. Video said they are going for 300K. Would be a good stablemate to the Fintail 😎
Looks like it might be the "China Blue" designo manufaktur color, which is quite similar to the fintail.
Not sure if I am into the lifted blingy thing though, even if it is capable and I assume will have portal axles again (is that a light bar above the windshield? Fintail goes off road more than most of these will ever see - at least it isn't on chrome wheels). I like a G to be pretty plain on the outside.
I saved this screenshot, this was my build in "China Blue" with a dark blue interior, fintail's combo. I chose some luxury options but no bling or off road flamboyance (I would likely remove the bullbar):
Upper left - Parked at the curb facing right - Blue roof and hood 1956 Pontiac. Lower left - Yellow 1956 Olds. Upper right - Parked at the curb facing right - yellow 1952 Mercury. And, parked at the curb facing left - a green and white 1958 Plymouth Savoy.
60 Ford sedan at left looks like a Galaxie. To the right of the Bird/356, I see a Hillman Minx beside the red VW convertible, 3 to the R of the Minx is 105E Anglia, and to the R of that, a 57 Bird.
Looks like the parking area at right is reserved for "smaller" cars. Great time for car spotting - 50s stuff mingling with the first of 60s modernism, and a wide variety of imports.
I was away in Wales with non-functioning wifi this week so missed the picture which you had of the Riley Pathfinder
It has expired and I cannot open it but they must have been very rare over the pond
They're rare enough here too - they weren't called the "ditchfinder" for nothing
And I've now re-read your post and I assume the Riley is in Europe , though with the above reputation the Pathfinder would have been a handful on any road in Switzerland I would imagine

"Hello, Central Casting? We need another '60 Ford here for the photo shoot. You got anything other than white ones though? Copper? Yeah, that'll do, send it over!"

Now for the car behind the fintail, not as obscure of a make.

Yes it is some sort of light bar above the windshield. I am generally not a fan of these, but I do like the blue.

I wonder if you can order one without the door moulding. It would look so much cleaner without those.

I would think they’ll build it any way you want it.

Man that’s a tough color on the Thunderbird next to the covered car!

I see that Central Casting sent over a 1960 Ford 4-door in white. That must have made about half their production that year.

That picture in LA62
That is a last year (1960 ?) DeSoto about six cars up on the left alongside the 59 Chevy wagon
