The R2 engine was 289 hp. The R1 was 240 hp. The R3 was 335 but with optional stuff (pullies?), it got to 400 hp.

I think the 1961 blue Ford is a Tudor sedan. The posts were very thin and the
chrome was a little broader than the hardtop's window frames.

‘61 Starliner Hardtop is my second-favorite Ford, after the ‘56 Victoria (not Crown). I always got tired of Ford’s tomato red of about ‘60 to ‘64 though.

I agree, I think the light blue 61 Ford is a "faux hardtop".

I know I have mentioned it, my dad's Country Sedan was that tomato red (and white two tone).

Yes, of course. Having a 68 pickup in that photo sure makes the other selection of vehicles a surprise, though! In that era, it is rare that a pickup would be the newest vehicle in-frame.

I couldn't find a 67 with anything toward the front of the fender but a 68 can have quite a bit.

That's the PNW for you, the land that rust forgot. I wager most of the vehicles in the pic made it well into the 80s or even longer.

Not sure of MY, but yes that's a first gen VW Scirocco. Easily the best looking VW ever but followed by a huge disappointment.
