Could well be that old pic was outside Houston city limits at the time, they grow through annexation.

It's a Plymouth. I believe that the finlets on the rear fenders make it a 54, and I think it must be a Belvedere (top of the line).

Yup, it's a Fiat 8V with coachwork by Ghia. Almost every Italian carrozeria made a version of the Otto Vu

Actually the one pictured is bodied by Vignale, though like many Italian cars of the era, others were bodied by other coachworks such as Ghia. The one pictured was designed by Michelotti.

The T bird is a 58 or 59. The 60 had three tail lights per side.

Can’t tell from this view whether the Bird is a 58 or 59. A 56 Ford Fairlane Victoria and a 57 Chevy convertible.

My drivers ed was in a 1959 Chev Biscayne post sedan. 4-doors. Ugly car. Farmer green IIRC.

I learned on a 54 Ford way back in 58. At the time in SC you could get a regular license at 14. The next year it was changed to daylight only or with an adult after dark but not retroactive.

The LAX picture highlights the predominance of beige in those days.

It's not just the Rabbit - the clothes some of the pedestrians -even the soil

At that time I had a beige Vauxhall Chevette 2-door (Notchback) with beige interior at some stage for a year or so while buying a house required some prudence.

I always associate that period with beige

Even Picard in the new generation Enterprise had a beige bridge - probably a bit faster than my Chevette though

You seem correct. I had a lot of beige clothing back then. Dad’s ‘75 Hornet Sportabout was beige as well.

It’s a bit out of focus, but I see a white Datsun Z-car in the background parking area.

Apparently 1960 was the next-to-last year for the Ranch wagon. I'm not sure why anyone would buy a two-door wagon but my buddy's family had a '55 Ranch Wagon. Probably cuz it was cheaper than the 4-door..
