I thought the guy on the right was Truffaut? I recognized him from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Bingo, Francois Truufaut played a leading role in Day for Night in addition to directing.

    No great place for this...
A reporter with a national news magazine is hoping to talk to consumers who drove to Woodstock. If you drove in a VW Microbus with a psychedelic paint job, that would be great too. Looks like a Nissan Maxima wagon to me (1996-00)? Probably a different name for different markets like Nissan Flylady Estate?

  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Almost. It's a second-generation Cefiro wagon, but the Cefiro was just a tarted-up Maxima by then.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,673
Change the grille on that Cefiro wagon and you've got a Saab
    9-5 wagon.

I think someone guessed this already as ther Euro market Caddy BLS.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,673
that's correct Boomer, like the sedan version, the BLS is essentially a re-badged Saab 9-3, in this case the 9-3 Sport Kombi (aka wagon).

I can't take the credit for it  , someone else guessed it first (even though I knew what it was too).

Looks really nice, but I guess a Caddy wagon would never fly in North America.

Oh, then how do you explain the SRX? ;)

I did post about the resemblance between the Nissan Cefiro wagon and another Saab wagon but I think you are the first to tag what they call the BLS Estate. Take a bow :shades: .

:confuse: The website I borrowed it from says it's a Country Squire. :confuse: There's a red flash behind the front wheel that indicates a big motor, probably a 390 (did they put 428s in SWs?)

Maybe someone removed the woodgrain. I think a 428 would have been a highline option then, yeah. Would be very rare to have it, but I bet they made a few.

I almost fooled ya. Look carefully and you see there's no stripe like the one that graced the hood of the '68 TR-250. That of course means it's a Triumph TR-5 PI
    (Petrol Injection).

    1941 Oldsmobile?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,673
I'm sure it looks like a '41 Olds but one of the ground rules of this forum is that we post only cars that were new after the end of WW II. Take another guess.

That's a 1946-47 Oldsmobile. Basically the same as the 1942 Olds with a much less busier grille. I believe 1948 was the first year for the much more modern "Futuramic" Olds.

Well this is really confusing :confuse:

If you Google 1948 Oldsmobile you get pictures that look like this one from a aaa.org>

    Then you get>

This next however looks definitive as it has the year 1948 on it and appears to show a more 1942-ish style that the b&w of the Futuramic convertible above>
