    Gorgeous, whatever it is.

When you say "sports car" that's pretty much the exact picture that pops in my head, even that black cover.

    I think it's a 100M am I right? Louvered hood and all...
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
We'd have to count the louvers and also see their shape and width to see if the car is real or bogus. Lots of fakes out there.

Yep, the louvres are the giveaway that it's a Healey 100M. I don't know if it's a fake or not.

If we could dig up a good shot of the hood, I could tell you.

Sorry Shifty, that's the best I can do.

You should recognize this mystery motor>

    Lamborghini Miura?

    Lamborghini Miura?

Yup, to be precise it's from a '72 Miura S. IIRC the Miura is the only road car to ever to use a transverse mounted V12.

I'm going to guess '65 Impala convertible for the blue one on the right...

    Hmmm...
1968 Plymouth Barracuda notchback (much lighter than the fastback), 1968 Plymouth Fury III 'sportback', and a 1965 Chevy 'vert.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,477
I think the Impala on the right is closer to maybe a '68
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
I think Fin is right, the Impala is definitely not a '65, those had tail lamps on the trunk, not the bumper.

    It looks like this '68>image

The Plymouth Sport Fury is also a '68 but the 'Cuda is a '69.

    Mitsubishi Galant
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
Close it is a Galant VR-4.

Came with the turbo four cylinder and AWD system from the Eclipse GSX.
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,126
That model Galant was a good-looking car. I can't say the same for the current one:

Early-50s Chevy pickup with the longbed. I think you have to see the front to nail down the year. Stuff in the background is a last-gen C-class, some Jaguar convertible, and a current-gen Yukon.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
I knew a guy over in the San Luis Obispo area who had a similar looking truck in navy blue, but it had Mercedes badges all over it, right down to the steering wheel logo. Must have been a one-off mod.
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,126
Friend of mine restored one of those, let me drive it - talk about no handling/brakes/acceleration!
  • hudsonthedoghudsonthedog Member Posts: 552
    ...some Jaguar convertible...

Actually that's a Chrysler Sebring convertible. On the right side of the picture are various used cars including a Honda Civic and a Kia Optima.
  • jescuejescue Member Posts: 521
Thats what I was thinking. In its defense maybe its a limited.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
It's a 1949 Chevrolet 3100. To me there's something refreshing about a truck that doesn't try to be fancy.

Heh, you don't think 5 windows is fancy? Looks pretty trick to me.

    Fiat X 1/9 , probably a '73.

One of my favorites as a kid.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Same here. There was a guy restoring one near my house. I saw it at several stages. He fixed up the body, sanded, primed, and painted it himself.

It wasn't the best work, but I still found it fascinating. Let's see...I must have been 11 years old, maybe younger, that's when we moved away from that house.

Very cool early car experience. :shades:

    But this one is RHD?
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,126
Hmmm...maybe the picture got 'flipped' - looks like it has USA bumpers.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
    But this one is RHD?

Good eye, you guys. I was hoping the RHD would trick somebody into saying it was a TVR or a Triumph.:P

As for the bumpers, with 50% or more of them going to the USA, Fiat might have decided to Standardize bumpers meeting Federal specs.

Who's Priscilla Presley's driver in that shot anyway?

Loved the "wedge" shot btw. That was a big deal when Fiat introduced that model in the states.

74 was the first year for the X 1/9, and it had unique bumpers that year, offering virtually no protection, but they sure looked good.

The revised bumper standards in 75 resulted in the demise of a number of low production cars. The X 1/9 shown here is at least a 75 model. I recall those wheels, but can't remember the exact years they were offered.

The final cars were 1988 models, with 200 or so being imported. Many think 87 was the last year. I wonder if the local 88 is still around here.
