there's a falcon of that vintage that lives near me. Street parks and everything. But it has woodgrain sides. Very classy.

I always thought that one was attractive, in a '60s wagon sort of way.

I'll grab the 64 Barracuda. (Rumor has it that a new Barracuda may be coming out).

68-69ish Mercury wagon in the back. Park lane?

To the right of the Barracuda is a '69 Buick - IMHO one of the best Buick designs of the '60s or '70s.

"68-69ish Mercury wagon in the back. Park lane?" How about "Colony Park"? And I'll say it's a '71 based on the wheel covers and side marker trim, but hey, they all pretty much looked alike to me....

No one's mentioned the gold 69-ish Olds Cutlass or the VW Beetle with the bashed-in front lid. That's a bit of a mystery in that it has the flat windshield of pre-'74 Beetles and the big bumper of a post-'73 car (which would make it the newest car in the shot even if it doesn't look it). :confuse:

The Cutlass appears to be a '71 or '72 model.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Accoirding to IMCDB you're right Lemko they say it's a '71 Olds Cutlass S.

    Way bigger, more cars.

This is just a sampling of the amazing cars that appeared at the Villa d"Este in Lake Como for the annual Concours. Many are one offs or prewar classics but here's a selection of mostly production Gran Turismos from the postwar era. Be sure to click on the larger version.

I'll pick the low hanging fruit, pair of Lambos - Countache and Miura.

Anyone who doesn't know which cars I'm referring to should probably leave in shame. :D

In the back is fintail's dream car (SL gullwing) and one of mine (356).
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,464
A periscopo Countach no less. There is one of those in my area, they are sooo small when you see them in person.

I'll pick off a few others - BMW 507 at far left, numerous old Ferraris to the right of the Miura ending with what looks like a 400 Superamerica or possibly a Superfast.

Porsche 356C, early 60's, followed by an International 18-wheeler and about to get passed by a '69 Chrysler Newport.

Cool pic with a diverse lineup, I guess around 1968 judging by the newest car I can spot. I'll pick off just one, Porsche 911/912 on the bridge.

Good eye on the Porsche Fin, I didn't see it behind the light pole. I see a '67 or '68 MoPar intermediate behind the late 50s Chevy/GMc pickup, is that your '68?

I'm not sure of the year of the big Chevy sedan to the left of the same P/up.

    Underpass:

    1960-61 Ford Falcon
    Austin-Healey
    1961 Rambler American
    International Scout
    Volkswagen Beetle
    1958 Chevrolet truck
    1968 Chevrolet two-door hardtop
    1967-68 AMC Rebel
    1964 Pontiac Tempest
Possibley a 1964-65 Oldsmobile behind the Rebel.
Another 1968 Chevrolet behind the 1964 Pontiac Tempest.
1947-54 Chevrolet truck behind the 1968 Chevrolet.
Might be a 1964-65 Rambler American behind the Oldsmobile
    1963 Plymouth Valiant.
Another 1947-54 Chevrolet truck traveling in the other direction.

    Overpass:

    VW Bus
    VW Beetle
    1965-69 Chevrolet Corvair
    1964 Plymouth Belvedere or Fury
    1965-66 Ford Mustang
Can't tell what the black car is
    Another 1965-66 Mustang
    1965 Ford full-size wagon
    Early 1960s Dodge truck
    1965 Pontiac
    Possibly a 1965 Buick Special
    Another VW
    Porsche 911

I was going by the 68 Chevy lemko mentioned. As he listed, the car that looks like a Mopar appears to actually be an AMC...threw me off a little too as the greenhouse wasn't familiar. The Impala beside the pickup is a 68.

Lemko's mystery black car might be an Opel?

FWIW the Austin-Healey 3000 looks like a MK.II or Mk.III (note curved windshield and top-stack behind driver).

That black car is a poser. Any feeling that it might be about a '64 Barracuda?

What sharp eyes you have Mag! I thought I'd have to break out the magnifying glass to find it but it's there.

Anyone see the '65-'66 Mustang at the head of the street across from the store lot. going to the overpass? It's near the Jaguar.

400% magnification - and in fairness, the E type coupe is pretty distinctive - although most of the others get very pixilated as they are all basically straight lines.

All three cars are 250s. California in the foreground, what I think is a SWB Berlinetta beside it, and a Berlinetta Lusso beside that.

It's from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The red car is a Corvette-based replica of a Fantuzzi bodied 250 GT Spider California (similar to the Pininfarina bodied blue Spider above).

The green car is probably an MG-TC but it could be a prewar MG PA or JA.

I'll be d**ned; you are probably right. If it is, it's a Windsor. The Chrysler New Yorker wagon had the same tower tail lights as the sedan, but the Windsor appears to have that button light at the top, like the DeSoto.
