The scene is from TV's The Streets of San Francisco so it's NoCal, not SoCal (unless they cheated and shot some scenes in the Southland).
I think Mr.Shifty is wrong about the yellow Fiat 850 Sport Spider, it has the more upright headlights of a very late 60s/early 70s version. FWIW I think it sports a removable hardtop.
The Mustang is a 1966 model. The 65's had a little ring around the pony in the grille (a corral?).
The Audi is a 100LS. IIRC, these began importation ca. 1969
All the '66 photos I found have that 'corral' too.
I looked up '65 and '66 photos and could find no pics of either a '65 or a '66 'Stang w/o the corral. I mis-remembered but there is a difference in the grille-- the horizontal bar in the '65 grilles is missing from the '66 cars (except for GT versions)>
I worked at an E.J. Korvettes during high school. Great record and TV/stereo departments. Korvettes name really didn't have anything to do with Korean War veterans, nor religious background.

I'll pick the 63/64 Caddy.
Like everyone else I'd heard it stood for 8 Jewish Korean War Vets. Can you tell us what the name "E.J. Korvettes" derived from?
So far no one has named the oldest car visible in this photo.
Eugene and Jim, the guy that started it and a friend. They wanted to also use Corvette, but for some reason were not allowed so changed it to Korvette. No reason, other than it sounded good to them.
Stick's line sounds plausible. When I worked there people asked the question and management said it was named after "nothing". The new employee brochure they gave you also made no reference to the derivation of the name.
Yep, pretty sure that'd be the oldest car and it's less than a decade old since the pic was probably taken in'65/'66.
To the right of the Merc is a GM compact from their 1960 generation. I think it's an Olds F-85 it's hard to tell from that angle, it could be a Buick Special nor can I tell the year but the Gen 1's were 1960-63.

Can anyone nail it.
Correct, Olds F-85. 1962.

I'm pretty sure I93 north of Boston is the fastest road in the USA. No matter how fast you go someone will pass you! Every week some one gets busted for 110+ (beware the eye in the sky).

What about the 65 Ford I mentioned yesterday, along with the 58 Merc?
There's a lot of repeats in this shot. Across the street from the 54 Buick is an earlier model ('50-'53?) The car ahead of the '54 Buick could be a Morris Minor sedan saloon. The tan Ford in front of that could be any year from '52-'54 and it's across from a blue/white Ford of the same vintage.
Somehow I don't think that car had of the Buick is a Minor. At first I thought it was the bigger Morris MO Oxford but that isn't right either because the lights, etc are in the wrong places. Also the window is a slightly different shape - the Morris (Minor or Oxford) is a sort of kidney shape which isn't quite right.
I also considered the Austin A40 Devon / Dorset but again can't quite tie up the appearance with that.
Still thinking about it although it looks British.
I think it's an earlier (S1/S2) Minor. The trunk hinges, bumper, hubcap, fender shape, window shape, etc all match. The window on the convertible top could have been replaced.
This very early one (side curtain instead of rear quarter glass) has many of the same details:
I still think it isn't quite right for a Minor - it looks too high. I've found a picture I took of a Morris Oxford MO which is closer but I'm not sure. That is a camera strap - sorry.
Its an odd one partly because the oil can on the window cill obscures the other wing and also because it looks like it has either a tiny wheel or is missing a wheel. it looks like a convertible saloon rather than a sports car. I can't work it out...
I actually don't know what it is, it was a mystery on another thread. I kind of get a French vibe from it, but it doesn't match any Simca or Peugeot I can find.
It vaguely says Volvo 164 and 1970s rolls Royce to me. From the square front fender line. Both too new of course, and the door frame and oil can screw things up.

Yes, that pears to be a full-sizer 1965 Ford behind the Merc.I see a couple of '65 Chevys as well.
