Hi I purchased a Sienna lease yesterday was a great deal limited for 39k from 48k. But the dealer was trying to sell me gap insurance, I always thought GAP insurance was included in Toyota leases so I declined and did not purchase it I asked him to give me a copy of the original paper contract the white yellow pages he declined and said he will give me the contract but a print out I said okay and came home and read it and it says the contract does not have GAP insurance? Can the dealer do that?

Toyota Financial is the only major manufacturer bank that does not automatically include GAP insurance. Dealer is correct.

Thanks for the info. I did end up purchasing it through my auto insurance for fraction of the cost.

When I leased a Toyota in June, the F&I guy was insistent that I get GAP. While I appreciated his ardor, my lease was being run through US Bank, which includes GAP. I didn't tell him that, as I was in a hurry, and didn't want to extend the process. But, right before we signed the paperwork, he said, "Really, you need GAP insurance. With the residual on this vehicle, you'll be thousands of dollars upside down for the full term of the lease. I'll give it to you for $225, which is my cost."

He wasn't really trying to give me the hard sell, but I was surprised at how cheap he could sell it. Especially, when the first pencil was $25/mo. ($900).

Again, take everything a car dealer says with a grain of salt, but everything he said about GAP was correct, except for the part where he didn't know my lease already included it.

Two other questions:

*What is lease cash?

*With regard to GAP insurance, if going through Toyota Financial lease, should we still try to negotiate down the price of this insurance?

Lease cash is a dealer incentive. Use the knowledge to negotiate your best price.

Everything is negotiable - if you don't ask for a lower price on the GAP insurance, you won't get it.

No incentive information for WI. I see $1500 in some, but not all, other regions.
