  • Can I have the MF, Residuals and any lease cash for a Touring (Sedan) at 24/12k, 36/12k and 39/12k (in CA). Thanks!

    Greetings,

Can you provide the residual and MF for 2017 Mazda3 GT auto sedan. Connecticut. Looking for 36 and 39 month w/18K miles. Also, does the residual take a bit hit once you pass 15k/yr? Thank you.

Is this for the 2.0 or the 2.5 engine?
2.5L is the only engine for the Grand Touring on the 2017 models.

3 Sedan- Sport and Touring = 2.0L Grand Touring =2.5L

    3 Hatch- Sport = 2.0L Touring = 2.0L or 2.5L GT= 2.5L

Thanks again for the lease info.

    .00001 MF and 54% residual for 36/15
    .00022 MF and 55% residual for 39/15

    $1200 lease cash

Miles over 15K/yr reduce the residual on a cents/mile basis. Not sure what the number is for Mazda ($0.10-$0.15, most likely).

So, yes, miles over 15K/yr are more expensive than the residual bumps from 10K to 12K or 12K to 15K.

  • Great info! I just got a quote for a 2017 Sedan Auto Grand Touring with 56% residual and 0.00053 money factor for 36/12k. This didn't seem to match earlier posts. Can you confirm or deny? In California if that matters. Thanks!

Mazda dealers can mark up the MF by .00050 for extra profit.

  • I am shopping around for a Mazda 3. Either 2017 or 2016, it doesnt matter to me whichever has a better deal. I suppose I should be comparing the 2017 Sport vs the 2016 touring. Auto on both. What is a good payment for 36 or 39 months? What is a good selling price I should ask for?

Also found this on mazdausa.com for the 2017 sport:

$159/Month, 36-Month Lease, $1,999 due at Lease Signing. Monthly payment includes $595 acquisition fee. No security deposit required. Excludes taxes, title and fees.
MSRP $18,895 plus $875 destination charge. Payment based on capitalized cost of $16,165 after $1,640 Mazda Customer Lease Support. Total payments of $5,716. Dealer participation required. Not all lessees will qualify for lowest payment through participating lender. Some payments higher, some lower based on residency and other factors. Lessee responsible for excess wear and mileage over 36,000 at $0.15/mile. Purchase option at lease end for $10,478 plus tax or price negotiated at signing. Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 2/28/2017. See participating dealer for qualifications.

Is this a good deal? Should I simply ask the dealer to honor this?

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

That is not an offer, just an advertisement.

We don't recommend you putting the $1999 down - that simply hides the true cost of the lease.

And, you may be able to negotiate more of a discount than the $1000 (18,895 - 16,165 + 1640) that the deal implies.

The lease payment is largely determined by the price you negotiate.

How many miles per year do you think you'll drive?

    56% and .00001. $1200 lease cash
Is the MF of 0.00001 accurate? That converts to an APR of 0.0024%. Was told that is impossibly low and should be 2.4% instead (0.001 MF). Credit is excellent. What am I missing?

4 zeroes after the decimal point is correct.
    You aren't missing anything.

Maximum dealer markup is .00050, so they couldn't charge .00100, even if they wanted to.
