Adding the taxes into the cap cost is our recommendation.

Those incentives should stack, but we aren't 100% certain. Check with multiple dealers and see if you get a consistent answer.

Thanks for your numbers! I leased my car on Sunday, at what I consider a fair price. I folded the acquisition fee into the cap cost, and used the lease cash to cover all the normal drive-off amounts plus a portion of the 9 security deposits, so my cash due was about $3,500, which they let me put on a credit card.

With the 9 MSD, I was able to reduce the MF from .00050 to .00001, which saves me around $1,100 over the 3 years on the lease itself

When I leased the 2015 3 years ago, the residual was 62% vs. the current 53%, but the MF was higher and there was no lease cash.

Also, in a couple weeks, I'll get my $4,500 security deposit(s) for that lease back from Lexus.

I've definitely used 9 MSDs on my last 2 leases. Here's the LFS page where that option is described. It says up to 9 additional security deposits are allowed, but I've been told that means 9 total deposits: https://lexusfinancial.com/pub/w/planning_center/financing_options/lease/lfs_lease.

It is footnoted with a caveat: [1] On approved credit. Certain restrictions may apply and not all customers will qualify. See your participating Lexus dealer for additional information.

Here's a portion of the "dealer disclosure", which my dealer - Longo Lexus of El Monte - e-mailed me in response to my inquiry, asking for the details if I made 9 security deposits (I asked for several different scenarios, and they sent this file for each). Pardon the obfuscation of some sections, but I prefer to keep that confidential.

As you can see from the "Rate Information" section, the MF is 0.00001. The asterisks indicate a user-entered field, as they modified the MF from 0.0005 for the 9 MSDs. This form is nice, because you can clearly see where they have added any "dealer profit" items, particularly when they are called out by the **.

I could plug all of this into my Excel model and validate their numbers. I felt Longo was very honest, transparent, and easy to deal with.
