I have a Honda dealer in Chicago who is insisting that their MF on a 36/12 is .0024. Has anyone seen a crazy MF like this?

I pointed out to them that the prices on their own website appear to based on a .0018. They couldn't understand how I reversed their website price to determine the MF...to me it seemed pretty easy algebra, but maybe I'm going about it wrong.

I agree with your math. What payment does the dealer get with those numbers?

Honda dealers rarely mark up the MF - perhaps they are assuming a higher MF as they haven't run your credit yet.

The closest comparison I have is that the dealer gave me a monthly lease payment of ~$475 with $2500 trade-in based on $30,000 sale price. I can't get there using any type of math.

Without taxes and fees, their website says $2500 down would be $287.21. I asked them to explain why taxes and fees were adding almost $200 and they couldn't, which is when I pointed out that they were calculating a .0024 MF but their site is .0018. They even showed me "a document they don't usually show people" to show that the MF is .0024.

I asked them to confirm if the MF was because they hadn't run my credit (which is excellent) and they said "this is the standard MF". And I asked if the MF on the website was .0018 because it was a deal they could only offer online and they disputed that it was .0018. Ugh.

Needless to say, I walked out and I'll be working with another dealer.

To get the adjusted CAP cost, I subtracted the down payment (3k) from the agreed-upon value (27835). So it's $24835.

To get the adjusted CAP cost, I subtracted the down payment (3k) from the agreed-upon value (27835). So it's $24835.

If $3000 is the total due upfront, then it can't all go to CAP reduction.

I just helped my Mom lease a vehicle on Monday. We are in Florida. 2017 Honda CR-V EX-L, no navigation. Total out of pocket $678.95 (this was the first payment and tag transfer). Her monthly payment is $380.00 per month, including the tax. It is a 36 month/12K miles per year lease. Thanks Edmunds for the helpful information, as usual. I think it's a good and fair deal. For a 3yr/36k mile lease on the 2017 CR-V EXL we can offer a sign and drive lease at $457.66/mo + $19/mo for 45k mile. With $2,000 down that number would drop to $393.77. With $3,000 down, just $362.96/mo.

A 2yr/24k mile lease would be $554.84/$460.11/$414.32 respectively with the same down payments, and again roughly $19/mo more for a 30k mile 2yr lease.

This is based on MSRP of $31,395
Purchase price of $30,600 ( this is the price they offered, I haven't responded to it yet)
I will not be putting any money down

Any and all advice is welcome!!

He said they don't offer a straight 36 month lease because the banks give them better terms on 39. Should I be suspicious of anything? Is there a any down side to the longer term (other than having to stretch the mileage over 3 more months)? Is there a residual figure for 39 months? If not, how would I use the 36 month figures?
Lastly, are the Honda numbers regional or national?

Our numbers are from Honda Finance; confirm that your dealer is using them as well.

We would need to know the MSRP and selling price to figure the payment.

So I test drove the touring model. Decided to go with EXL no NAV. Can I please get residual and MF for 36 month 15000 miles /year. I was given 0.002 and 63%. Thanks
