What are the MF and residual for a 36 month 10k 2017 430i rear drive convertible (actually since I will order it this week, it will be technically an LCI 2018, even though it will be here before June 15). What discount to expect from an almost fully loaded $64,020 car?

    Thanks

Wow, that's a very low residual for such a new vehicle, even lower than the 2017 model. Don't we expect the opposite?

And, it incents customers to get a 2017, helping to reduce existing inventory.

Yeah that's true.. My impression was that they would have a higher residual but a higher MF for the newer model, just so it makes sense. In any case, the monthly payment for the newer one is expected to be higher.

For the time being, that is correct ... more expensive to lease the 2018.

Probably asking for too much info, but I still thought of putting it out there. Do you expect the residual to increase and match with the current 2017 model values anytime soon? Going back to the 2017 forum and looking at the last year's posts, I found that the model was released in July 2016 with low residual value but it shot back up in Sep. I'm guessing BMW waits a couple of months so that the previous model inventory is cleared out? Any thoughts?

    Soon? No idea.

    But eventually, yes.

Good on you for researching last year's numbers. I have no reason to think the same pattern won't hold this year.

I agree with your presumption that the new model year numbers are low to encourage folks to lease or buy the remaining inventory from the previous model year.

Does anybody know when 2018 info will be available, both here and on BMW website? I'm also looking for their loan rates, not just lease.

Last question - are there any difference on lease rates on Euro Delivery? I remember seeing some info like that.
BTW, it a bummer they'll discontinue the multiple security deposit program (unless they change their mind, like they did with the tiered residual).

There is an adjustment on the MF, but I can't remember which way.

I know @kyfdx has the answer .. he'll be along after a bit.

Never mind .. I just found it.

MF is increased .00030, but the 2nd lease payment is waived.

I think they recently cut the invoice price reduction on ED from 7% off US invoice to just 5% off US invoice.

I know that. Already signed the order fo 430i GC. The payment arrangement is in two weeks or so. I'll most likely buy, not lease (MSD program will be gone). I hope BMW will post their 2018 specials (APR) till then, or I'm at dealer's mercy in terms of the loan APR. Banks won't underwrite the loan for an individual if there is no title for a collateral - they will through a dealer they have a relationship. That's how it happened last time I did it. They financed me through BoA with a little bit marked up rate. I refinanced when the car hit the shores and title became valid, about two months later. I just wanted to avoid it this time.

What is taking them so long? The website doesn't even have 2018 shown yet, and the cars are already in the showrooms.

Right now, 2018 rates are 3.15% APR for 24-72 months.
Of course, most dealers mark that up by 1%.

    Thank you.

Trying to choose between 340i and 440i, that's why I'm posting in both 3/4 Series forums. Thanks again.

Could you please help me evaluate this deal from a dealer in CA:

    2018 440i (fixed year typo)
    MSRP: 59,600
    Cap Cost: 52,000
    24mo/10k (63% residual): 779/mo (1362 due)
    36mo/10k (57% residual): 683/mo (1266 due)
    MF: 0.00146 (I think i'm getting this)

On running calc, was able to arrive at same 36mo value, but for 24mo I got 799. Did they make an error again or was it me?

PS - same as what happened with the 3 series quote:
The fees were $583 (420 for regn, 80 for doc etc.). Don't remember discussing the acquisition fee (which the forum reminded me about) so will ask that next time what's going on with that.
