I'm looking to lease a 2018 430iGC and I can pay the 7msd, 0 down (not including msd), and the msrp is 46,975. What's the residual value of the car, how much markdown can I get, and how much should my monthly fee be? Is it better to wait till December or are there incentives now? Once I have these details, do I negotiate each item with the dealer or do I just show them what I want and how I came up with the info?
What lease term and how many miles per year?
The MSD program from BMW has been discontinued.
$2000 lease credit on 2018 4-series.
The residual is fixed by the bank - the big negotiable item is the selling price (we suggest 7% off MSRP), and you also want to ensure that the MF is not marked up.
Not sure if the deals will be better in December.
3 year 12k or 15k So I first negotiate the selling price then tell them that doesn't include the incentive. Usually dealers include that inn selling price no? Assuming I'm able to get the 7% off MSRP, the incentive, and the MF you mentioned, what would my monthly charges beat in California for the 12K and 15K for msrp 46,975? Can these things be discussed online or over the phone with the dealer? Or do I have to go in? Thanks for your help!
Also what is the residual for the basic package? What do you negotiate first, sales price? Then ensure MF isn't increased and they subtract the incentive?
Negotiate the selling price first - start with an 8-9% discount from sticker and see where that leads you. Yes, assume that any price quote from the dealer includes the incentive.
.00152 and 54% (36/15) or 56% (36/12)
You can try to do it over the phone, but understand that the dealer won't think you are a serious buyer unless you are in the dealership.
With 7% off the MSRP you've given me, I get a payment of $614/mo before tax.
All fees would be paid up front, in my scenario. We suggest you roll them into the selling price.
Thanks for your help. One of my friends went through a broker and is paying 550 a month with a higher msrp. How do they get those deals on the broker is getting a cut as well?
2018 430i GC residual for 36/10 is 57% correct. Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but what about 2017 430i GC 36/10? I’ve received conflicting answers regarding residual value.
Thanks in advance! (Location is Texas if that makes any difference)

Going into holiday season and as 17' being cleared out, how much can we expect the RV% on a 18' to go up? Is it 2% ish or possible for it to get bumped back to 60% range for 36/10?
I know nobody could really know for sure, but just throwing it out there for discussion.

No idea; guesses are 3 for a quarter.
do you mean 3% further down without considering holiday season?

No, I was trying to be funny. Nobody knows what the future residual values will be, not even the dealers.
Gentlemen, How do you think about this deal? It's a retired loaner with 4K miles on it:
MSRP: 54,280 Discounted sell price: 45,888 Tax: 4,393 Fees: 393.15 Monthly payment: 687 Due at signing: 687 + 393.15
Will be registered in city of Chicago. Thanks.
What lease term and how many miles per year?
36/10K term with zero down. The dealer did not provide the adjusted cap cost, which is making me frustrated. It seems that's sth that they are not willing to share and be transparent with.

So I did my own calculation assuming that only sales tax and acquisition fee ($925) will be added to the cap cost, I got below numbers:
MSRP: 54,280 RV: 57% of MSRP - 1,000 (for the mileage) = 29,940 Selling price: 45,888 Rebate: 2,000 Adj Cap Cost: selling price + sales tax + acq fee = 45,888 - 2,000 + (45,888 - 29,940)*9.5% (IL+Cook County+Chicago tax) + 925 = 46,328.06 Monthly payment: (48,328.06 - 29,940) / 36 = 455.22 Rent charge = (48,328.06+29,940)*0.00152 = 118.97 Total monthly before Chicago use tax: 574.19 Total monthly w/ 9% use tax: 625.87
Did I miss anything or the numbers look largely correct? I have been confused about the total sales tax and Chicago use tax on lease payments. Should I instead just exclude sales tax from the adj cap cost, and add total 18.5% to the monthly payment after rent charge is added?

The state and city assess their sales tax differently.
IL taxes the sum of the payments; you can pay the amount up front or roll it into the adjusted cap cost.
Chicago taxes the monthly payment; if you roll the state taxes into the lease, you're effectively paying tax on tax, which isn't fun.
The alternative is to risk the up front state tax money if the car is stolen or totaled.

Hey guys, I am Getting off my 2015 428iGC and I was offered a 2018 430iGC 36/10k as the numbers below . This is my first post and don't have a lot of experience if it s a good deal or not :
MSRP - $43,000 net capitalized cost $33,811 (offered me $2750 market allowance and $7500 dealer incentive ) -waive current lease disposition fee -waive remaining 5 lease payments - pay upfront for Title , registration and license fees approximately $1200 - also a down pmt of $2520 includes first months lease and estimated taxes Gross Cap Cost after fees- ? Adjusted Cap Cost after rebates/incentives -? FL tax rate 7%
How much should the monthly payment be? It was an offer in the mail and they said payment will be $396 tax included . How's does that sound to you?

I only show $2000 in lease incentives, this month. I see no reference to $7500, unless this is a 3rd party bank lease that is offering the incentive.
Florida only taxes the monthly payment in a lease, but you would be responsible for taxes on any incentives.
Can you get a breakdown of the $2520 from the dealer?
On the surface, the payment, relative to MSRP, looks good. But, the devil is in the details.
any input would be appreciated on this deal: 2018 440i xDrive Convertible Executive Package,Premium Package, heated steering wheel, wireless charging, apple car play, active blindspot. Residual is 54% for 36/15 - what term and mileage is this quote for?
All 4-series have the same residual.
MF is marked up, just slightly - base is .00152
You're getting about 6% off sticker, before incentives - there might be another $500-1000 available to shave off the price.
thanks for the quick and informative response- the term of lease is 36 mos- 10,000 per this is my 3rd lease with same dealer- so it looks like I should counter with MF at .00152 and residual at 54%- that would be an overall good deal?

I am considering leasing a 4 series and I now live in Florida. I have lease numerous BMW's, but all when I lived in Ohio. How does Florida treat sales tax on a lease? Do you pay it all up front or is it a monthly add on to the payment?

First time leaser here. Looking to lease a 430I convertible with Premium, Luxury and Executive packages.
Here is my calculation based on the numbers sent by the dealer.
Fees which are being added: doc fee= $157.25 processing fee= $4.75 convenience fee= $10.00 license fee= $148.25 title fee= $33.00 st inspection= $7.00 acquisition fee= $925.00
Here is the attached sheet from the dealer. Not sure why my numbers are not matching with the dealer. I am assuming a 6.25% Sales Tax in Texas
What are the numbers I can negotiate on ?
Thank you for your help !!
I agree with the math on your worksheet, but a couple of comments:
1. Why $4000 up front? We recommend only first payment and any registration costs be paid when you sign. 2. MF is marked up the max, from .00152. All else being equal, this is adding $35-40 to the payment
However, the big issue is how taxes on a lease are done in Texas. Your worksheet shows them as being applied to the monthly payment. Unfortunately, Texas is one of a handful of states that assesses sales tax to the entire selling price. Ouch. You can pay that up front or you can add it into the adjusted cap cost, but it will easily add $100/mo to your payment.
Comments

On one hand, residuals tend to go down throughout the model year.
OTOH, once the 2017 inventory is cleared out, there might be a small bump in the residual.

I live in TX so we get to pay sales tax on the whole sale price of the car.
Add the tax amount to the net cap cost on your sheet, and recalculate. I get $714/mo when I do that.
Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using to get their $740/mo quote, then bridge the difference to your cap cost.

The $2500 I was told includes first months lease , state and sales taxes. Perhaps there's a dealer fee and something else hidden in there.
The $7500 in the offer I receive it says dealer incentive for customer loyalty and is coming from the dealer I leased my current BMW.
Thoughts?

You're getting about 6% off sticker, before incentives - there might be another $500-1000 available to shave off the price.

this is my 3rd lease with same dealer- so it looks like I should counter with MF at .00152 and residual at 54%- that would be an overall good deal?

Here is my calculation based on the numbers sent by the dealer.
Fees which are being added:
doc fee= $157.25
processing fee= $4.75
convenience fee= $10.00
license fee= $148.25
title fee= $33.00
st inspection= $7.00
acquisition fee= $925.00
Here is the attached sheet from the dealer. Not sure why my numbers are not matching with the dealer. I am assuming a 6.25% Sales Tax in Texas
What are the numbers I can negotiate on ?
Thank you for your help !!
