Can someone confirm this information is correct? Am I getting a good deal for a demo car? My calculation seems to be off by about $25 and I don't understand what I'm missing. It looks like dealer has a different depreciation amount per month then what I am getting $351.57. Why?

    MSRP 46975
    Residual % 57%
Residual Value 26270.75 (subtracted $505 because of 2000 miles)
    Negotiated Price 40575
    Document Fees 80
    Acquisition Fee 925
    License and Registration Fee 51
    CAP Cost Reduction 116.38
    Total Fees 1172.38
    Gross Cap Cost 41747.38
    Rebate 2820
    Adj Cap Cost 38927.38
    Dep Amount 12656.63
    36 351.5730556
    Rent 99.1011576
    Pretax 450.6742132
    109.50% 493.4882634

    The dealer is getting $507.

The adjusted CAP cost in your post does not match the one on the document.
The residual to use is about 55.92%, if you are using a spreadsheet or lease calculator (to account for the miles)
Also, the rebate is $2000, not $2820

Check the document, and reconcile that to the numbers you've posted.

    Hi Folks,

I hope the experts are still following this thread. I am in contact with a dealership and they've agreed to come down on a 440i GC's MSRP from $61,915 to $54,700; however, their math isn't exactly adding up for me when they come back with a monthly lease payment, and I was hoping to pick your brain on it as well.

The MF and RV they're using (from what they've told me) is 0.00192 and 57%, respectively. Please take a look at the screenshot of the formula they sent over to me.

    I agree with the math.
The money factor is marked up from .00152.
That adds $35/mo. to the payment.

It's not a cheap car to lease. Residuals aren't as strong as other BMW models.
With the current deal, and just making the first payment at lease signing (dropping the $5000 down payment), the payment would be $820/mo. ($782/mo. with base money factor)

Thanks for the quick response, kyfdx! If I was to try to negotiate the costs further, is there anything I could try to work on beyond the MF? I understand based on the discussions that have occurred so far in this thread that the MF markup being utilized by the dealer is at the max allowed, so I suppose there could be some wiggle room there, but is there any other areas I can explore as well?

    Thanks!

The discount is already pretty big. Getting the money factor down to .00152 might be the best you can do.

Hi, very informative board here. I'm in Southern California and I'm interested in a 2018 440i Gran Coupe. Based on BMW's current $2000 lease incentive which I believe expires Jan 2nd 2018. Is it best to take advantage of this now or does BMW typically have better offers early in the year. This would be my first BMW so I'm not aware of BMW's timeline on the various incentives. If anyone has had experience on the best time to take advantage the info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is no historical trend line.

When leasing, it's usually best to wait until you actually need a vehicle.

Can you advise if this would be a reasonable offer? I want to get a good deal but I don't want to insult the dealership. I have 5 payments left at $1k/mo on an existing BMW Financial lease. The offer would be an adjusted cap cost of 93% of MSRP, 3 payments waived with the pull ahead program and the $2k lease credit to pay (directly or indirectly) the remaining 2 payments on the car lease.

Why end your lease 5 months early? That $2K is about $55-60/mo extra, if tacked onto the new lease.

93% of MSRP is a fair offer - before incentives.
Hi Michaell, I am over mileage now (which will cost me an extra $250'ish/mo, going forward) + current lease payment is $1,260/mo. Over the next 6 months that totals $9,060+ in payments/mileage penalties.

Met with the dealer today regarding a 440i GC with an MSRP of $59,275. Since I have a MY2016 X4, and the Pull Ahead program is only for MY2015 or older (which looks like it's confirmed at https://www.valenciabmw.com/lease-return-information.htm), they wouldn't be able to waive any payments. They can include all 6 remaining payments into the new lease cap cost though, which is an additional $7,560. $925 acquisition fee is also being financed.

They are giving me the .00152 MF and the 54% residual is also being used (36-mo, 15k/year). Payment would come out to $950/mo (including CA sales tax), but that is still too much for me. Total out of pocket is right around $1,800 (first payment, license/registration + tax on cap cost). $3,500 in incentives ($1,500 loyalty + $2k lease credit). Trying to get a screen shot of the dealer's leasing/financing software so I can manually calculate the payment and get it to match.

If your existing payments are being rolled over into the new lease, then you are paying them for nothing. And, if you are over-mileage, won't that happen again with a new lease?

I'd ride out that lease and start fresh. At least you are getting something for your six months of payments.

Hi I'm in Miami, Florida. Would like to know the MF for a 2018 430i GC. The MSRP $54,995 with all incentives -5000 about 49900-50K. The terms 36/15K/year. $2,734 drive off. Does +/- 698/mo sound about right? Cause they told me the MF is much higher. Thanks much.

    .00152 MF and 54% residual
    $2000 lease credit.

$2734 seems like a specific amount for drive-off. Did they itemize that?

Are MSDs still available to those who are coming off a 435i GC lease and looking to lease the 2018 4 series GC? The leases are much more expensive this time around as the MF is up, the RV is down and MSDs are less impactful. Is the same true for a 340i?

BTW, The closest hatchback, 2018 Audi A5 Sportback (less powerful) has an expensive lease as well.

Can you provide the numbers for the 2018 430i x drive cabriolet lease 10k a year for 3yrs? Zip 95051.
As a side question when using the Edmunds lease calculator the monthly payment doesn't change between 10k/yr vs 12k/yr is that normal?

Hello. I am interested in leasing a 2018 430i or 440i coupe with M-Package with a 15K mileage per year. Which one would I be getting a better deal on? How much of a discount should I ask for? How much down payment would make sense for me to put down? Can someone also explain to me what "money factor"is? What are the residuals for these cars? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Can you please comment on this deal:

    2018 430i Gran Coupe lease 36/10 in 92630

    MSRP: $45,095
Dealer negotiated price: $41,700 (including incentives of $2,750)
    Drive off payment: $1,318
    Money Factor: 0.00152
    Payment: $495.66 plus tax = $534.07

My guess is that I should be targeting negotiated price before the $2,750 of incentives at 7% off mrsp making the price $42,390. Then taking off the $2,750 to get to a total negotiated price of $39,639. By my calc, I end up with a payment of $507.

Your logic is correct. 7% off MSRP, then apply the incentive.

Shop multiple dealers; the competition between them should get you the lowest price.

    Thanks Michaell.

What is the residual for 36/12?
    56%

    Hello,

Can you please give me the MF and RV for a 2018 440i GC for 12k and 10k at 36? It has premium and m-sport packages with active driving assistant, and active blind spot.

    Thank you.

So, i’ve heard in this forum that dealers are only ‘allowed’ to markup MF a few basis points - someone previous said 4. Is that true?

    i got a bid on a 2018 440ix with Essentials, Premium & Msport
    $62025 list
$10,248 discount (due to 1k plus miles as a service loaner)
    $2k rebate
    36 months /15k miles
    $33308 Residual

    and they’re quoting a .00196 MF.

    Does that sounds accurate?

The base MF this month was bumped to .00156, so the .00040 mark up gets the .00196 you were quoted.

Hello, New to the forum. I'm looking at dealer that is willing to lease 4 series grand coupe that was dealer loaner car with a value of $43500. How should i think about MF and residual for this deal. He through out a wide range like mid 400s to low 500 but feels high for 43.5K value. What are your thoughts?

    What is the MSRP?
    How many miles?
    What term and mileage allowance?
    State and tax rate?
How much due at signing with those numbers?
