    Thanks Michaell,
Looks like Premium Plus has the lowest interest rate, not a huge difference but it's strange why Premium and Prestige has 00191 and Premium Plus is 00185
    Edit:
Or is it that 2.0's get a lower rate. Just realized premium+ 3.0 is also 00191. So it's just 2.0's.

The money factor is strictly based on 2.0 or 3.0. It doesn't vary by trim.

If they are buying the vehicle from you, and paying off AFS, then you should have no lease end liability. Make sure that they aren't rolling any negative equity into the new lease.

Hi What is the current MF / residual on:

    2018 q7 2.0, premium 42/10 and 36/10k for NorCal

    42/10 - .00205 and 57%
    36/10 - .00185 and 61%

We always suggest 6% off MSRP for Audi.

Just got this offer on a 2018 Q7 2.0T Premium. Does it look reasonable

    MSRP: 54,870
    Lease: 42 Months/ 10 K per year
    Base Payment: $475 p.m
    After taxes @ 8.5%: $ 513 p.m.

    Disposition Fee 395.00
    Excess Mileage Charge 0.25
    1st Month Payment 513
    Acquisition Fee 695.00
Fees & Insurance (documentation, license & Registration) 597.75
    Upfront Taxes 450.29
    Cap Reduction (Cash) 4,092.96
Total Inception Fees 6,354.69 << Will have to pay this to close the lease

    Money factor is .00105
    Residual is 57% or $31,275.90

Is it normal to have acquisition fee and am using US Bank instead of Audi Finance. They mention about giving over $ 3000 discounts but residual is 57% off MSRP.

I simulated it using leasehackr calculator and numbers make sense overall so unsure where the discounts got applied...

Yes.. every lease has an acquisition fee.
    USBank = $695
    AFS = $895

Residual is always a percentage of MSRP.

No mention of your selling price or adjusted CAP cost?
Without that, you don't know what discounts they are giving. (It will be on the contract, though)
Also, why put up an extra $4092? Just first payment and non-taxable fees upfront.
Your payment will be higher, but it will be an accurate reflection of the monthly cost.

I'm new to the leasing world and really appreciate all your help!

    I'm looking at a 2018 Q7 3.0 Premium plus on a 42 or 48 month lease with either 10k or 12k miles.

MSRP is $65,710 and the dealers initial offer for the total purchase is $66,000 (no $ down w/ $1,800 of negative equity rolled in). zip code is 75093

Can you please provide the MF and RV for each scenario? Also, any tips on how to negotiate to the audi finance quotes rates would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

    Thanks- Sales price is ~ $ 51K (mentioned as 3K plus over MSRP of $54K) i.e. ~6%.

Couple of things which seem off
    1. Disposition fee of $ 395.00 seems odd to charge when starting a lease. MSRP has $ 975 destination charges already
    2. Sticker says : 'Mobility vehicle - Not for Resale' in bold red and it has under 20 miles on odometer. Was this originally intended to be a loaner but is been sold. Should I pay destination charge in this case?
    3. With US Bank stories floating around the web, I am considering buying wear and tear insurance for additional $995. Is this worth it as have regular insurance with $ 500 deductible anyways
    4. 4. Registration fees of $ 438 is way too high over DMV fees and makes bulk of fees

BTW...Agree on $4200 down payment and will speak to them about rolling into monthly payments

48 month term is not competitive.

    42/12 - .00211 and 56%; add 1% for 10K

Does the $66K also include all fees and taxes (TX taxes the entire selling price)?

The rates we quote are for top tier credit.

What is the $1800 of negative equity represent - remaining lease payments? If so, why not wait until the lease is up? $1800 is $40-45/mo on a 42 month lease.

    1. Disposition fee is information only; it's paid at the end of the lease
    2. Not sure how that affects the deal; but, with only 20 miles on it, it shouldn't be a big deal.
    3. $24/mo for wear / tear insurance may be worth it.

@nikdash Mobility vehicle has usually been modified for a handicapped owner. The manufacturer often does the modifications at a greatly reduced price. I'd want to know the story on that one. Big red lettering would give me pause.

I'd save my $995 for actual end of lease charges.

Thank you! The $1,800 negative equity is not from a lease (previously purchased vehicle). The $66k includes all taxes, fees and the negative equity. Should I just ask the dealer if they can do the 42 mo at .00211 and 56%? Appreciate all your help!

The dealer cannot modify the residual.

Regarding the MF, politely tell them you won't sign a deal where the MF has been marked up. They know what the base rate is.

I get $912/mo with those prices.

Thank you so much, Michaell! Yes, Ojai is a great (but very hot, LOL) little town.

Also considering the 2.0 P+ now ~ could you kindly also share the Sept. numbers on 36/10 for that--for both 2017 and 2018 models? (I presume it's still add 1% for 36/7.5k.)

And how different are the numbers on the 2017 3.0 P+ and Prestige? (I may go 2017--not sure 2.0 or 3.0 yet--because it's a much better deal, CAP cost/discount wise.)

(Additionally, I know this may sound strange...but aren't Quattro (4) and AWD the same thing? Why do some sites like Auto Trader, or dealers, alternate with the label?)

I have a local dealer saying that they can't go below 1k off MSRP dealer discount on 2018 models--won't go anywhere even near invoice, let alone below--with NO incentives on the Q7! (And this is from a GM who has sold 7 cars over 20 years to my close family friends and gives them "great" LOL deals.) YEESH, what a bad deal! (But I can get $6600 off 2017 models.) Is this normal. i.e. typical for Audi? And/or because of "supply and demand?" It's pretty ballsy! I've never owned/leased an Audi before, so this is my first experience with them. I can get 12%-15% off of BMW MSRPs, with tons of incentives, as a 6 time owner. So this just seems bonkers to me. (They don't even have conquest or AARP, etc. incentives, leash cash, rebates on the Q7...nothing.)

Lastly--if you do 0 down and only first payment and non-taxable fees at drive-off--where do the MSDs come in? Audi being one of the last manufacturers that still does them.

THANK YOU in advance for all of this "Lease Whispering!" :D

It's probably easier for web sites to use the generic term "AWD" rather than the brand specific labels (Quattro, 4Matic, xDrive, etc.)

Which dealer are you working with?

I suspect dealers would rather move the 2017 inventory, so they make the discounts very attractive on those, while not budging much on the new 2018's. Once the 2017's are gone, you might start to see better discounting on the 2018's.

Thank you, Michaell, for all of the information, much appreciated. Can you please kindly respond regarding the MSDs, and where they come into the deal to bring down the cap cost/payment--at which point in the lease negotiation? I hesitate to bring them up initially, as I don't want them to use them as an excuse to give me a worse deal.

Wow, that's quite a payment. I presume you paid sticker with no discounts, incentives or rebates (!) ~ did you negotiate the MF and what was it? What was your residual? Please share the lease terms of your deal, that would be great. I am in awe of that payment, and frankly, it makes me a bit concerned about my upcoming Q7 lease, LOL. (Kind of reminds me of our 2016 XC90 T6 Inscription lease; basically no deal whatsoever, and wouldn't recommend that vehicle otherwise, either; many problems.) You can get an X5 for $600 per month right now, at that MSRP with 0 down--you would get below invoice and would ultimately pay 10k+ less with numerous incentives, rebates and BMW leash cash on top of that--getting 10%-15% off, total. You could get a 2018 X5 for $699-$799, etc.--just sharing this for comparison. You must have *really* wanted that car! Cool color combo. Savor every moment in it. :)

Lastly, does your steering wheel click when you begin turning? I noticed that in some of the 2017s I tested, which made me a bit uneasy (have never heard that in a luxury car) and the dealer says that it is in some of the 2018s too, and that it is "normal." (I'm of the belief that a 70k luxury vehicle shouldn't have a clicking steering column, LOL.)

Beverly Hills Audi, because they have the biggest selection and working directly with the GM, who is our close family friends' longtime guy, recommended by them so I thought I'd get one of their "great deals." (I haven't started the negotiations yet so that could change, but he was pretty adamant--you don't end up as the GM of BHA if you're a softie, LOL, and I'm a first time Audi customer, so there's no loyalty and they don't seem interested in creating it--so I'm not sure how much more he would budge.) But honestly, I was shocked at the only 1k discount on the 2018. (I'm used to getting cars at least 3-5k below cost, at cost minimum.) That pushed me into 2017 territory, though I'm a bit hesitant about that year because some glitches were still being worked out and a few recalls, and the steering clicking and have heard about leaks from rain, etc. He wouldn't even respond to my texts about the 2.0 and searching for the build specs I wanted on that 2017 model, LOL--just said "I'm holding the (2018 3.0 P+ 70k) for you that comes in next week" ~ so I'm currently getting the typical dealer mind game tactics playbook thrown at me, which always makes me feel slimed, having to play the game and work so hard, and leaves me fantasizing about using a car buying service, which I believe is the future--just for that reason. So there you have it! ;) Look forward to hearing about MSDs with them, in the lease deal.

    Thanks! B)

I think you need a price from a different dealer and ask him to beat it.

You pass quite a number of Audi dealers driving from Ojai to Beverly Hills (Audi of Oxnard and Rusnak in Thousand Oaks, to name two).

The more dealers you engage with, the better your final deal will be, as they will be forced to compete with each other for the right to earn your business.

And, over the years of moderating these forums, the "I know a guy/gal" approach tends to not realize great deals.

My dad knew Steve Thomas (of Steve Thomas BMW/Mini in Camarillo), and he bought a couple of cars from that dealer. I never felt he got the absolute best deal.

What is the current MF and RV on the Audi Q7 2.0T Premium Plus 36/12K and the 3.0T Premium Plus 36/12K in MA.

The last MF and RV you gave out expired on September 5th. Are the new numbers available for September?

    2.0T - .00185 and 60%
    3.0T - .00191 and 60%

Was just offered $780/month on a lease for a 2018 Q7 2.0T Premium Plus with SRP of $55,565 after discount. I also have neg equity of $1K and with taxes and fees, total comes to $60,500.

This is for 36/7500 with $4k down. What would be a good lease price on this car?
