    I am looking to close a deal and just wanted to know if the numbers are correct.

    2018 3.0T Premium Plus in New Jersey

    MSRP-$69,185
    Invoice-$65,002.05
    Selling Price-$64,342 (7% of MSRP)
    Taxes-$1889.08
    Gross CAP Cost-$67,325.07
    Doc Fee-$299
    Residual Value Amount and Percentage- 60% at 10,000 miles for 36 months and 58% at 10,000 miles for 39 months. Its 2% lower for 12,000 miles per year.
    Money Factor-.00190 for 36 months & .00210 for 39 months
    Tag & Title $788.

    Any other cost I am missing?

    Would there be any other discounts, bonus cash, conquest program, Corporate Fleet, incentives, manufacturer rebates I can use to lower my selling price to get my monthly payment lower?

    Lastly, I feel that the MF and Residual migth be off.

    Appreciate your advise.

    Residual is correct, but the 36 month MF is .00169; for 39 months, .00189.

    Therefore, MF is marked up by the dealer for extra profit.

    There is only a 1% delta between the 10K and 12K residual, not 2%

    The only incentive I see for the 2018 Q7 is a $1000 loyalty incentive if you have a car already financed by Audi.

    Michael,

    Thanks for the response. Sorry for coming back to you on this so if I get a 2018 3.0T Premium Plus

    So do you think its a good deal if I get these numbers?

    MSRP-$69,185
    Selling Price-$64,342 (7% of MSRP)
    IF the Dealer follows the Money Factor Numbers - .00190 for 36 months & .00210 for 39 months as you suggested instead of .00190 for 36 months & .00210 for 39 months

    Ideal Miles Per Year - 12,000 Miles Per Year

    Residual- Correct me if I got this correct?
    60% at 10,000 miles for 36 months
    58% at 10,000 miles for 39 months

    59% at 12,000 miles for 36 months
    57% at 12,000 mies for 39 months

    What do you think is the Monthly Lease Amount coming up to?
    Just want to make sure i am getting the same numbers.

    Thank you for your help.

    Michael,

    Thanks for the response. Sorry for coming back to you on this so if I get a 2018 3.0T Premium Plus, DO you think its a good deal if I get these numbers?

    Please just review the numbers one more time. Thank you so much.

    LEASE WORKSHEET:
    * MSRP-$69,185
    * Invoice-$65,002.05
    * Selling Price-$64,342 (Is this a good price, they said its 7% of MSRP, $4,843.00
    Discount) including all the possible discounts they can plug in

    * NJ Taxes-$1889.08 (I live in NJ and will plan to secure the car in NJ)
    Gross CAP Cost-$67,325.07

    Residual Value Amount and Percentage:
    60% at 10,000 miles for 36 months
    58% at 10,000 miles for 39 months

    59% at 12,000 miles for 36 months
    57% at 12,000 miles for 39 months

    Money Factor that should be for the Lease Deal for October 2017:
    36 month- .00169
    39 months- .00189
    what if the dealer does not want to honor the MF, what can I say?

    How else can I lower my MF or monthly payments, does it make sense to not use AFS and utilize US Bank or other options?

    Based on my previous note, here is the Lease Amounts they are quoting me.
    Annual Mileage Allowed: 10,000 Miles with 36 Months Lease
    $0 Cash Down = $838/month
    2000 Cash Down = $779/month
    $4000 Cash Down = $719/month

    Annual Mileage Allowed: 10,000 Miles with 39 Months Lease
    $0 Cash Down = $853/month
    2000 Cash Down = $798/month
    $4000 Cash Down = $742/month

    Annual Mileage Allowed: 12,000 Miles with 36 Months Lease
    $0 Cash Down = $859/month
    2000 Cash Down = $799/month
    $4000 Cash Down = $740/month

    Annual Mileage Allowed: 12,000 Miles with 39 Months Lease
    $0 Cash Down = $910/month
    2000 Cash Down = $854/month
    $4000 Cash Down = $799/month

    Would appreciate if you can run a simulation on your end with correct variable numbers, so see
    what do you think is the Monthly Lease Amount coming up to? And are we getting the same numbers?

    Thank you for your time

    Politely tell them you won't sign a lease deal where the MF has been inflated.

    Then, start shopping other dealers; it only takes one to meet your numbers.

    Also, we don't recommend so much down payment at signing - that money will be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

    For 36/10, I get $901/mo using your prices and lease variables (base MF)
    For 39/10, I get $900/mo

    Both assume $0 down.

    The only variables in a lease are the MF used and the adjusted cap cost - the MSRP and residual are fixed.

    I'd confirm the adjusted cap cost the dealer is using - a printout of the lease calculation worksheet would be even better.

    The tax amount looks too small; NJ taxes the sum of the payments, which should be $2-3K total.

    Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost.

    Hi - I'm looking at a Q7 2.0 premium plus. ~$60k MSRP / looking at 36 mos and 10k miles. Does Audi offer a security deposit program that lowers the money factor? if so, how many security deposits can you put down and what is the money factor + residual to expect?

    Also out of curiosity, this is a second car we will only be driving it 5000-7500 miles / year. Most likely closer to 5000 miles. Any advice on purchase vs. lease? My quick thought is that Audis in general don't lease as well as BMWs and other german cars given the inflated money factor so I'm leaning towards a purchase, but would appreciate any other thoughts if others have thought through this

    Thanks

    Yes, Audi offers an MSD program - we think it's a max of 9 @ .00005

    How long do you plan to keep the car? If longer than the lease term, might as well buy and keep rather than lease.

    Micheall,
    It looks like this dealer is giving me only 3% ~$2000 only, discount, instead he is asking me to pay taxes up front in order to give me "BELOW $900/mo" payment on my 10/36 lease of P+? Am I right?

    MSRP $70000
    Per month $898
    Due at signing 1st month $898, Bank $895, Tax $2954, DMV $200.

    I estimate sale price to be around 68000.
    Plus taxes look high by $250 since I am in NYC.
    Thanks in advance.

    Michaell,
    Here is another one, this deal is claiming to give me a big discount off MSRP, (big chunk) but he asks me to pay so much at signing, I don't think these are justifiable. Dealer is in NJ, I live in NY.

    First Monthly Payment = $depends on deal$
    Registration = $335
    Acquisition = $895+$61 TAX
    Docs = $499
    Web Dealer Fee = $11
    Slpmt Title Fee = $256
    Tire Tax = $7.50
    Doc/On Line Tax = $35

    He brings my monthly payment low but I need to pay over $3000 down (inc bank & 1st month), but a bulk of this is not going towards the vehicle, which is a bit over $1200. If I put that back in the cap cost, my monthly payment shoots up.

    Good evening. I'm looking for current MF and residual for a 2018 Audi Q7 2.0 Premium Plus for 36/12k in Vermont.

    Also, wanted to run this dealer quote by the gurus:
    MSRP = $57325
    Discount = $3000
    Selling Price = $54325
    Rebate = $1000
    Subtotal = $53325
    Taxes = $1248.06
    Licenses/Fees = $367
    Balance = $54940.06

    36/12k = $791/month. Only first payment ($791) due at signing. MF quoted as 0.00198 and residual 59%

    I've learned my lesson with putting money down or trading in on a lease so always go for no money down.
    Thoughts on this deal?
    Thank you

    Sorry, my post disappeared. I hope it's not a double post now.

    If that's the case it's better to accept a lower discount and stay in NYC since it keeps OOP to minimum.
    Do you have any idea about the charges in PA? They gave me this in PA:
    $69215 MSRP
    $62985 After rebates/incentives/credits
    60%/0.00169
    Option a. )
    $1500 OUT OF POCKET (I didn't get a breakdown)
    $884/mo

    Option b.)
    $3000 OUT OF POCKET (no breakdown)
    $833/mo

    I will ask them to breakdown the OOP costs, but do you have any idea how they reach the number.
    They must be incorporating some of the fees into lease to get $1500 OOP because there has to be bank fee $975, tax on bank fee, 1st month, so that's at least $1858. DMV, Doc Fee, etc..

    My estimate on A) above $1500 out of pocket, there is another $1150 that gets tacked onto sale price, making total $883/mo.

    This means if I ask for something between A and B like $2000 OOP, I should be at $866/mo. I am guessing.

    .00168 and 59%

    Using your MSRP and Balance amounts, I get $735/mo plus tax.

    MF bump is adding about $25-30/mo to the payment.

    Confirm the adjusted cap cost the dealer is using to get their quoted payment.

    PA taxes the monthly payment on a lease, so it's not an apples to apples comparison to NY.

    Keep it simple, and tell each dealer you'll give them $1500 out of pocket, then compare the quotes you get back. Anything not paid up front will be rolled into the cap cost.

    And, use this link to build your own lease calculator; that way, you won't be guessing on the payment, you can plug in all the variables yourself and see the resulting payments.

    This is a perfect suggestion, great idea.
    Fixing the out of pocket "I'll pay no more than $1500, give me the selling price and my monthly lease payment".
    I should target savings off MSRP, though, and then once desired %off is reached, we can tell them how much to pay at signing. The only variable is DMV. I'v seen them always say "1st month + DMV" and it looks like DMV charges can vary greatly. On my last X5 I paid $80, but on Audi, dealer expects me to pay over $400, plus title fees. So even "1st month + DMV" is vague. Are we allowed to push them to tell us exact numbers, not just "+DMV"? I already tell them I am transferring plates, that should be enough for them to tell us DMV costs, isn't it?

    I confirm the MF and residual value as given to you by the dealer.

    I get $929/mo with those prices.

    Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and make sure you understand what was added to and subtracted from the selling price to get that number.

    No - I simply used the prices you provided. Does the $2000 include taxes? NJ taxes the sum of the payments and collects the money up front. You can choose to add it into the selling price, which is our recommendation.
