Looks like a great payment, relative to MSRP. But, without the details, we can only guess.

Adjusted cap cost is 32,166. State is KY/6%. $0 out of pocket at signing.

I get $341/mo, tax included, with those numbers. Pretty close, but there is about $150 difference in the cap costs used.

Hi Michaell, I have a situation where I am getting a good deal on 2018 2.0XT Touring lease (only 1st month and dmv) but I saw that in his calculation dealer is entering $860 in customer cash down instead of reducing the selling price by this amount. I asked him about it as I am not putting anything down clearly in my deal with him. He replied that its just his way of avoiding to show the cost of car to him in negative and that I won't be paying the amount. Is it legit or I have to be careful while signing the lease? I may sign the lease tomorrow. Appreciate your help.

We'd have to see a screenshot to give an accurate answer. Are you sure it isn't a rebate that they haven't disclosed? It's pretty easy to see if he's wrong about the amount due at signing. If they ask you for money, you'll know he isn't telling the truth.

Hi, I am attaching the screenshot. They are saying that even though we are showing $1285 cash due at signing (865 due + 420 rebate) in the lease agreement I only have to pay them $375 at signing which is 1st monthly payment. They said they have to show it like this because they need to show inception fees to the bank. Is it possible that I sign and they or subaru finance come chasing me to pay $865 later. Its confusing me.

Thanks for the input! It ended up being that I had the dealer acquisition fee already in the "all in price" they added it in after. So they were actually using the .00055. Nothing hidden in there.

In the event this is useful to someone else:
So it the end I also added remote start so it came to:
MSRP: 38,481.00
Invoice was: 35,594
Savings: 3,600
Price: 34,881.00 ($714 under invoice!)
+ acquisition fee: 595
+ Title, Reg fees: 332.15

Payment with 1,000 down, most of which was to cover the reg/title/doc fees/first payment was:
$395

My advice to anyone is find two big competitors in your region and get one to be super aggressive, let them know that you know the #'s and if they don't get to where you want, let their big competitor know "not only came you possibly sell me a car but you would also be taking a sale away from another volume dealer". That wasn't exactly my strategy, but they were honest with me in saying that for them, taking the sale from another volume dealer was just as important to them as selling something. Which explains why they went so aggressive on the price.

Now I just have to cross my fingers the car arrives in January! and that the residuals/money factors remain similar. Which is a risk I assumed. So come then I'll probably be asking you guys again for the RV/MF! :-)

The bank only forwards the balance to the dealer. If the dealer doesn't collect the cash due from the customer, that isn't the bank's concern.

I don't know why they structured it that way, but if they say give us $375, you don't have to worry about Subaru Finance.
