need msrp, residual %, MF is not correct for this month, HMF lease or 3rd party?
Lease cash is 3500 (not a consumer rebate)
Horrible deal; you have plenty of room to go down - 225/month maximum Sonata sales are terrible; i would wait for memorial Day sale if you can
They agreed to 230 a month. Worth it now?
Listen to Tony about not putting any money down. We lived through the totaling of a leased car in the first year. It can happen.
You can do better on the SE Base Lease. Right now I am at 220/month 36/15 true sign and drive, ZERO due at delivery. Deal includes 3500 lease cash, 500 event cash 400 college grad $ (this car is for my kid). Still have a week to shop it but so far no dealers (Philly and Lehigh Valley) are biting. They say this is it. If it is, I can live with it, the dealer has treated me well since they figured I knew how to use Edmunds and a leasing calculator. Thanks folks!
Question for moderator or group. Looking to lease a 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport in Kentucky. 36 month term with 12000 miles per. Hare are the numbers I've been offered.
2018 Sonata Sport MSRP $26,500 Selling Price: $23,795 Doc fee: $589 Rebate: $2500 Adjusted cap cost: $21,866 Total savings + rebate: $5,205
$229 per month payment includes tax (6%) Money down : $1985
The y set the residul at: $14,575 (55%)
Thoughts? Is this deal ok or should I go at it harder?
Thank you!
Sport 2.4 engine is the one quoted to me
.00114 and 55%
I get $244/mo with the MSRP and adjusted cap cost provided.
What does the $1985 up front cover? Possible that some of if goes to cap reduction (down payment)
They didn't stipulate what the $1985 was for. They offered three options: (36 month/ 12,000 miles) $985 down $259 a month payment (includes tax) $1485 down $244 a month payment $1985 down $229 a month payment
Are you saying that there should be nothing down and $244 a month excluding tax?
Awful lot of money to put down without knowing what it goes to.
Ask for an itemization.
We recommend nothing out of pocket except the first months payment and any registration costs.
Here is what the dealer sheet shows...
Retail price: $26,500 Sales Price: $23,795 Gross Cap Cost: $25,382 Rebate applied: $2500 Cash down to cap: $1985 Net Cap Cost: 20,897
Up front taxes: $119 Up front doc fees: $589
Base payment: $217 Tax: $12.96 Payment: $229
That $1985 is $55/mo; your pre-tax payment is $272, which is pretty high.
And, that $589 doc fee is pure profit, too; adjust your sales price offer to eliminate it.
i know you guys don't normally get mid-month updates but i am seeing an extra $500 off on SE and SEL models from 5-14 to 5-31; perhaps an early Memorial Day bonus.
autobytel just posted "sales event cash" of $500 on SE and SEL only until 5/31
update:
hyundai web site now shows additional $500 event cash until 5/31 on SE and SEL models only
hyundai web site also shows DOUBLE military bonus (1000 from 500) from 5/18 to 5/31 (Memorial day)
not sure that many read this board but deals can be had and inventory is high!

Thanks Michaell. So far the dealers sales rep calls every other day "just checking in". I told him his numbers just don't work for me. I offered $269 a month with nothing down. They would not bite. I can wait them out or move on. He's either going to cave in or I will move on. I gave him the opportunity to reach out again telling him that maybe some Memorial Day incentive would appear. We shall see.
hi Michael. Think I posted this in the wrong places.
would you please show numbers for this config? 2018 Sonata LTD 2.4L, non turbo, Unltd package. NYS 11801 I'm going to be leasing. 10000 miles 36 months tax, fees and dmv up front, which were quoted as ~$4785. I see $3500 incentive.
Would this be any different if I bought in Mass? 01060

No difference in either state.
That is a lot of up front money - can you get the dealer to give you a breakdown?
The dealer lived up to their quote. Took delivery of a new 2018 Sonata SE on Thursday. $219.16/month, 36 months/15K miles per year. ZERO $ at signing. Got the rebates they said we would (3500 Lease Cash, 500 Event cash, 400 College Grad).
Never thought we would be able to pull off a new car for her grad gift, but leasing really works in this case. All that incentive money, a decent money factor, a very manageable monthly payment, a residual that will make buyout very affordable for us if she chooses to keep the car, and the freedom to walk away in 3 years if she doesn't.
Had to drive 50 miles to get it, but it was definitely worth it. Our daughter is a happy new Grad!

What is the lease cash for a 2018 Sonata SEL w/ Tech in Massacussetts? Is it $2,500 or $3,500? Also, the lease cash is separate from the military and recent grad incentives, correct?

Hi Looking for Money Factor, and Residual on a 2018 Sonata SEL w/Tech package. 36mo/15K/yr in Florida. Also should their be an acquisition fee? (my lease calculator is asking how much). Also are the $3,500 in rebates taxable? Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm getting some crazy high quotes down here in FL (zip 33437). Three dealership now. 36/15 with lease cash of $3,500 (includes double military discount). I have two payments on my 2015 Hyundai Limited Edition @ $273/mo. which we are including in the new car lease to buyout the old lease.
MSRP on the new SEL with tech is $25,930. Money factor is .00114 and 52% residual. Quotes have been $346, $314, and $309. I'm being told with the new redesign that the discounts aren't that great. Any help on negotiating is greatly appreciated.
Using 9% off msrp (reasonable sell price) and adding in your two payments (~550) to the acq fee (650), i get 35 payments of 303, that is ZERO driveoff.
fwiw, SE and Limited have 3500 lease cash...military bonus expires tomorrow

$309/mo. is $289/mo, pre-tax. Need an adjusted CAP of $22,400 to get that payment. What else are you rolling in to the CAP cost, besides the $546 of payments?
Given the lease program, and crappy FL dealers, I'm not surprised at your quotes.
If there is no HMF lease pull-ahead program available, why not wait 2 months? Sedan sales are not good so incentives will probably be strong in 2 months...
Thank you all for your help. Was able to get 2018 Sonata SEL w/ tech for $286.32/mo (after 7% sales tax) 36 mo. 15K miles With $650 out of pocket. They ate the two last payments on my prior vehicle of 273/mo. (near Boynton Beach FL).

Congrats on the new car! Looks like some competitive shopping saved you some money.
I have a quote for an SEL with TECH, with added options of carpeted mats, cargo tray and first aid kit. 3 yrs, 12K, zero down, drive-off first month payment of $243.. Great deal would be $222/month. I asked for $233 but they won't budge. Quoted MF of 0.00083, RV of 54%. This includes all taxes. Dealership in MA, car will be registered in ME Is this a "good deal"? .
Quote I listed does not include Maine excise tax. Dealers probably do not pay for that as it is an annual tax. Quote was good through 9:00 on 5/31, but they extended when I asked them to double check their figures.
If Hyundai leaves lease cash the same and MF the same, seems like holding off might be a good idea.
"Hyundai is looking to jump-start sales of its struggling 2018 Sonata midsize sedan by introducing new "+" editions on several trim levels, adding features like the silver mesh grille cribbed from the Sport 2.0T, panoramic sunroof and safety technology for no extra charge — or for even lower prices, in some cases.
The mid-model year enhancement package broadens availability of Hyundai's Advanced Driver Assist Systems, the Sport front fascia and mesh grille and other interior amenities. For example, the Sonata SEL+ and Sport+ editions now come equipped with the Sport's front fascia upgrades, dual automatic temperature control, wireless phone charging, heated steering wheel and other features at no extra charge, representing $580 and $950 in value to the respective models.
Adding the Tech Package to the SEL+ gets you automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop-start and other features for $25,185, including destination charge, a $980 value improvement, Hyundai says. Buyers can add the Tech Package to the Limited model for no extra charge over the previous model. On the high-end Sonata Limited model, adding the Ultimate+ package drops the price of the previous Ultimate package by $600 while adding the Sport mesh grille and fascia combo, plus the panoramic sunroof.
The Korean automaker redesigned the Sonata for 2018 with a new "cascading grille" borrowed from the Elantra and other changes to the front, a redesigned back, some handling upgrades and a redesigned interior. But it hasn't helped move the metal.
Sales of the Sonata fell a whopping 41 percent in April to 9,616; year-to-date, they were down 38 percent to 33,441 units. The company saw its combined Hyundai and Genesis sales decline by 11 percent in April.
The "+" packages are available at dealerships now."

note that SE has 3500 lease cash if you don't need the SEL (which is nicer)
