The dealer can markup the money factor for extra profit, at their discretion.

Make sure you are getting the base rate, then negotiate the lowest price possible.

I appreciate the explanation. Havent seen the actual MF yet they've been using but my calculations show that they are probably quoting me near base rate for that...which only leaves further reductions in CAP SALES COST.

You ask them for it, and an itemization of how it was calculated.

I don't know the tax answer. When you ask for the adjusted CAP, ask for the pre-tax payment, as well.... It's easy to calculate the rate from there.

This feels too high to me.

You have to pay both state and city tax if you live in Chicago - something like 17% total

Yes, MF is marked up. Politely tell them you won't sign unless you get the base rate.

We generally see around $1000 for maintenance... but, they can residualize it, so the actual cost is somewhere around $500 or so...
