O.K. Finished the purchase. Two weeks ago. I live in San Diego and I contacted all the Lexus dealerships from San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. First of all everyone was nice at all the dealerships. Newport Beach Lexus with Gil Hayes ( where we bought the car Newport Lexus, 2007 IS 250 RWD prem pack, no navi $30,445 price 33,190 OTD About 800 below invoice. Breakwater Blue with Casemere, Wife’s car. She is happy) . The San Deigo dealers as I say all were nice but just did not have the car or did not have the price break below invoice. A close second was Longo but did not have the exact car. They had it in Black with casemere Quoted $30,300. but my wife just could not deal with a black car. I liked it. The point people who stand out to me were at Longo were Jeff Winnerty and Ben (sorry forgot last name, I think he was the manager, close out man ) Now that all said how do you go about getting the best price. Well save your self time and stress. Call Gill Hayes at Newport Lexus. If this is not in your area then in my opinion what I found works best, is yes make your first contact with the internet group at the dealership. Then as they e-mail you back price and availiblity you then give them a call. Find out the details. Talk to the internet person. If they are reasonable fine. If not make a cold call to the same dealership with another salesman and tell him/her what you want. If either the initial internet contact or the second sales contact turns up what you want then YOU MUST GET IT CONFIRMED!! Call again same day to 2-3 days later. Ask to speak with the manager of sales (close out man) in other words get to the top man. AND MAKE SURE THE CAR AND PRICE ARE REAL AND IT IS AVAILIBLE!! This will work. (And I think it is a great car to) but the repair bills after the 4-10 years (we plan on keeping our cars for a long time) these bills are very expensive to upkeep the car. So the decision was cost of maintance and I test drove the BMW I did not fell it was as smooth as the LEXUS IS. But keep in mine I am 50 years old and I am not worried about going 60 MPH around a corner. I also looked at the Acuca TSX nice car but I test drove it and it felt a bit rough and just did not feel right to me. Good car and good company (Honda). I got to go now, got a date with my wife in the new Lexus. To bad is is her car. It’s fun to drive. Buy one. Again thank you.
Got a lease deal of $429 per month for 36 mos. w/ 0 money down , no security deposit and 12K miles. Total cost of lease with taxes, titling and fees is $15,600+. Residual value is $19,372, which seems high (meaning I will likely walk away from car--I couldn't get them to budge on that one). It is the standard RWD model w/premium package but no navigation that has invoice price of $31,186.
Could have bought car for $1600 under invoice, which I know was a good deal. But I wanted less financial commitment upfront and ability to walk away from car after 3 years. Was the lease deal okay? I'm in Cal.

The three Lexus dealers [Newport/Tustin/Desert] should be able to make this offer for any 2007 No NAV.
I basically haggled down with one sales rep and then at his wits end, I backed out and went with a a sales rep I had a better feeling with [also my dialog back and forth with the guy was great].
Since the wheels were chrome, they needed to replace with stock alloy wheels, but ran out! Sales rep gave me the graphite '08 wheels instead - for free! Pure luck and good timing.
This might sound silly, but I think carrying a shiny black book around made me seem like a smart buyer. I only had 4 pages filled with numbers and half were for the TSX Before I even took the book out the the Lexus/Acura lots, no one was taking me seriously or giving me decent prices.
A dealer offered 37,200 out the door for a 2008 IS250 with an MSRP of 38,132. I was after an IS350 so I did not pursue this price, but it seems rather low for the new model year vehicle. Does this sound right? It will give me an idea of where to start my IS350 negotiations.
That's a great deal for 2008 IS250. But I don't think they produce IS350 and IS250 AWD as many as regular IS250, so I doubt they will give a great deal comparable to the one you got for IS250.
Back in the summer of '03 when I got my first real job out of college, I was able to get my dream car, the IS 300 (year '01). Unfortunately, it died an early death in Spring '04 when I was rear ended into another car. So, since I couldn't find a good deal on another IS, I bought a un-fun but practical new '04 accord EXL-NAVI and have been waiting to buy another IS ever since.
Last night we bought my wife's car (an '07 Accord Coupe EXL-NAVI - story here if anyone's interested: srizvi1, "Honda Accord Prices Paid and Buying Experience" #17540, 1 Oct 2007 7:20 am ), and decided that once we pay it off (hopefully in a year's time), I'll be due to buy an IS again and I can hand off my current '04 Accord to my mom.
So, I'm gonna subscribe to this thread and watch prices for a while and hopefully one day join you IS owners again. Maybe in a year's time I'll get rich and be able to get the IS-F. Otherwise, it'll prob be an IS350.
Have an offer on an 08 IS 350 with about 7k MSRP options. Offer from dealer gives dealer 6.600 margin when taking into account dealer holdback if this was a straight sale. Doing a 3 year lease. Dealer says this is a normal deal due to limited availability. Is this accurate? Thanks!
I'm in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and in the process of looking for a new car. I'm trying to decide between the g37 or the IS350 and was wondering if the forum could let me know what a fair price would be for an IS350 with Nav/ML. Would 41,000 + TTL be a fair price or am I going too high/low? Any help would be appreciated. I know i used the edmunds forum to purchased my dad's ES350 and it was very helpful. Can't know without knowing MSRP. Dealer here who is competitive says usually 08's being marked up often or sold at MSRP. Offer to me was MSRP minus 1,400. Don't know whether that is a good deal.
Yes good point. There is a premium for getting a car that says next years # before that year has arrived. To update I told another dealer my last quote of MSRP minus 1,400 and he immediately said MSRP minus 2,000 no problem, so perhaps there is some more room if you have flexibility on the options configuration. Of course even that number makes me a little sick. Puts the dealer's profit at about 6 grand! :sick:
Thanks all for the responses(vinny and rumand), I think December would be a perfect time for a purchase as I'm not in any kind of a hurry. We recently purchased an ES350 so hopefully they go low on pricing as we're bringing the dealership repeat business. I'm aiming at ~41-42k's pre TTL for an IS 350 Nav/ML. But you guys are right, even at 2K's off MSRP, the dealership is making a killing. What kind of incentives are normally available in the December to Remember event? is it really that much of a price diff?
Update -- email to another dealer told them have consumer reports vehicle #'s and what do they they need to make taking into account costs and holdback. They came back at MSRP minus 3k so getting better (IS350 w/options MSRP between 43-46). So hope yet though a lot of fat for the house! (now at dealer profit of 5k)
What part of the country are you from, if you're from DFW area, we can perhaps go into the deal together, get a bigger discount?? :shades: . But good news that they're willing to come down so much on the 08 already. Still at that discount, the dealer profit is still quite steep. Ok bottom line on this date from multiple dealers for an IS350 with MSRP between 43 and 46 is MSRP minus $4,000. Nothing to write home to mom about at about $2,600 above invoice plus holdback but that's supply and demand at this time.
Has anyone in the Northeast been pricing 2008 IS350's? I'm looking to get as few options as possible. Is $4,000 off MSRP possible (that's about the same as Invoice + Destination + $750)?
I've never actually been able to nail down the numbers on the incentives--Lexus doesn't share them like most of the others. However, if you go back to the posts in this forum from last December, you'll see that $4K off MSRP was common. Lexus usually offers some special financing in December as well. But again, Lexus isn't forthcoming with the data...
If you really want your best chance at a great deal, go see the dealer on December 26th or 27th. You'll be the only one in the dealership--his slowest days, at the end of the month, quarter, and year. Between the timing and the "DTR" incentives, a strong-willed buyer should get his way. BTW: don't actually buy on the 26th or 27th--make him your dream offer, let him run your excellent credit, comment about that fabulous BMW335 and then walk. He'll call you in time to have your new Lexus to drive to the New Year's eve party.

So I'm going to have to negotiate a price now, when I place the order, then pick it up in December when it comes in. When it arrives, I'll decide whether to lease or buy, so perhaps I can take advantage of any December financing offers.
Any idea what the leases are like for the IS350? I'd love to see the October lease factor and residual numbers.
I can't help with the lease info because I stopped looking at them when I bought my C350. That said, please be sure to push the dealer to assign any and all available incentives to you at the time of delivery. Good luck!

PA. Full disclosure: I worked through a dealer friend to get this price. My understanding is that '08s in PA and NJ are going for very close to full list, especially w/NAV. (Most lexus salespeople don't even know how to pronounce the word "invoice." LOL) I think I got a great price and I'm trying to confirm that.

Hi Faeuy, I just bought an IS 350 today. I test drove both IS with and without sport suspension, and I found that the car handles much better with sport suspension. The car I bought has the X package, Navigation, premium package, adaptive front lighting system, read spoiler, xm satellite radio, and some misc small options. The MSRP for the car was $43,886. The invoice was $38,608. The sales price of the car was $39,858; I paid $1,250 over the invoice. Including tax and license, the out of the door price was $43,367. I live in southern california. By the way, the car is silver with grey interior. I absolutely love the car.
