Was your rate not locked in when you ordered? My dealer noted the rate lock on the sales order back in December. If rates had improved I could have taken the better rate. Delivery hopefully next week!

Hello, can you please let me know about lease terms for 36/10 and 36/12 in WA state (Seattle) for P+/Prestige? Trying to find the right color, so keeping my options option. Also, do you know if terms will be different if I originate the lease from a dealer in OR?

Looking for feedback on this deal. In general I believe it's a really good price but I want to make sure the numbers match.
Car is 2018 SQ5 Prestige 66,550 is MSRP, selling price is 59,000. Total out of pocket down payment is 3500 and the monthly price for a 36/12k lease is $775 a month.
This is in PA and the sales tax in 9%, although I'm buying the car in New Jersey, it will be registered in PA.
Let me know if the number match correctly with the new MF and residual.
    Thanks

What does the $3500 up front cover?

With the prices given, I get a payment of $792/mo.

Therefore, I assume some of that $3500 is going to cap reduction.

Okay so it sound like the number of $775 a month is pretty accurate.

Yes the 3500 is going toward the cap. So it's First Month(775), Destination charge($975) and then I believe tax and tags are roughly $225. So 3500-1975 leaves 1525 for cap reduction.
But shouldn't the $1525 reduce the monthly payment roughly $40 less a month?

    Yep, it should.

Which is why you need to know the full breakdown of the $3500, and not guess.

And, understand the cap cost used for the dealer payment quote.

    Understood.

So they are selling me the car under invoice at roughly 11.3 percent off the MSRP. How are they making money off the car? Maybe this is for another thread but the reason I'm asking is should I really be worried that the numbers don't match when they are taking so much off the car? I guess that's where my confusion would lie now.

Don't worry about where or when the dealer is making money; they wouldn't make the offer if they weren't.

As long as the payment calculations make sense, and you're happy with the selling price and payment, all is good.

What do you me by the above statement? " Understand the cap cost used for the dealer payment"?

I assume you mean that although they selling me the car at 59k my other up front payment isn't reducing that cap cost down from the 59k. So the extra 1525 I'm putting down is just going to the sales person I'm assuming and not reducing my cap cost to 57,475?
So that would in turn answer my question as to why the salesperson is doing the deal. Cause he's taking that extra money down for himself and he doesn't care how much they sell the car under invoice.

It means you are making a lot of assumptions about how the $3500 is allocated. You need to know the actual numbers. I wouldn't assume anything about anyone, until you have the figures in hand.

    Hello,

May a please get the MF and RV for a P+ for both the San Diego county area and Las Vegas, NV area. Also, how does the tax work if I purchase the vehicle in San Diego but I’m a resident of Las Vegas?

    Thanks in advance!

What lease term and how many miles per year?

Both CA and NV tax the monthly payment, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

To get $750/mo, the cap cost would have to be around $60-61K

Why put so much up front cash? Better to roll the taxes and fees into the payment - if the car is stolen or totaled, youi think the state will refund you the sales tax you pre-paid?

Background - I currently have a 2016 Audi SQ5 Prestige, and my buy out is $36K. Car could trade at auction for $39K at least, and the dealer is giving me $41K of "value" against a new lease. I do not have to buy the car.

Here is my deal for a 2018 Premium Plus (with Sport, leather, carbon, and Autopilot dash)

    MSRP: 63,575.00

Negotiated price that is on contract $57,171.86

    Miles: 10K

    Term: 36 Months

Final buy out after lease end. $40,052.25

Monthly price including complete car protection, audio car and westchester NY taxes (7.375%) $743.78 a month

It will be $ 1,416.28 total due out of your pocket (first payment, DMV, Acquisition Fee).

    Residual 63%

    Money Factor .00250

Factory to dealer / loyalty program in place. $2,000 credit - into the payment

I am about to pull the trigger because this deal seems very strong towards my advantage. Amy missing something here?

    Thank you

Background - I currently have a 2016 Audi SQ5 Prestige, and my buy out is $36K. Car could trade at auction for $39K at least, and the dealer is giving me $41K of "value" against a new lease. I do not have to buy the car. Here is my deal for a 2018 Premium Plus (with Sport, leather, carbon, and Autopilot dash) MSRP: 63,575.00 Negotiated price that is on contract $57,171.86 Miles: 10K Term: 36 Months Final buy out after lease end. $40,052.25 Monthly price including complete car protection, audio car and westchester NY taxes (7.375%) $743.78 a month It will be $ 1,416.28 total due out of your pocket (first payment, DMV, Acquisition Fee). Residual 63% Money Factor .00250 Factory to dealer / loyalty program in place. $2,000 credit - into the payment I am about to pull the trigger because this deal seems very strong towards my advantage. Amy missing something here? Thank you
.00199 MF and 63% residual (if purchasing AudiCare) The money factor is marked up. Did they give you the adjusted CAP cost? $1416 upfront can't cover the items you list, as the acquisition fee is $895.
So I should ask them to adjust the money factor?

I believe the math with upfront is this...
    First payment
    DMV, etc
half of my one month payment for my current 2016 ($932/2).

They are pulling a lot of levers, which makes it cloudy.  Which I expected. They are reducing complete care (wheel/tire/dent repair) from $2,500 to $2,000 that is in the payment. Audi Care is in the payment too. The equity in the deal is less my two remaining payments ($932x2) since the audi program payments against the current lease only max out to a $1,500 allowance.   So, we are applying loyalty and may incentive (below), since you can’t use all three together. Acquisition fee is in the lease. Won’t sign if it isn’t.

$2,773 applied toward deal from equity

    1000 loyalty applied

1000 additional bonus applied for month of May.

Total due out of your pocket : $1,416.28

Thank you again.  Overall, feels close to right, but I also suspect that there is leverage for me here, just can’t find it.  Maybe money factor is it?

I wouldn't pay $2000 for an insurance plan.

As you note, there is a mish-mash of numbers there, and it's not designed to be straightforward. Seems like they are taking your equity by selling you junk plans and marking up the money factor. I'd rather keep that money in my pocket, and pay for any issues on my own.

Hi, Could I please have the MF and RV for 2018 SQ5 Prestige with Audi Care for 36mo/12,000miles in area code 99218? I have been following this information over the last few months to help me in the process, and I just leased this specific car 2 days ago.

I was assured I would be given the Base MF, but when it came time to sign the paperwork, the finance manager told me he has no way to know that information. So he said he didn't know Audi's Base MF, nor what MF was used in my lease. He said they just use a program they input information into, and it exports out the lease rental fee without the MF. So basically, he had no way to verify and show me that they did indeed use the current base MF, and didn't add to it (for more profit). Maybe I am wrong, bu this seems shady to me, and when I have leased prior through other manufacturers (Infiniti), they had always been extremely transparent about the MF being used. Since I already signed the papers, I'm not sure if there is even anything I could do if I was blatantly lied to about them using Base MF, and not actually doing that. Any current numbers, suggestions, etc for my situation would be helpful. Thanks you!!

I'm not sure if it matters what features were added, but it was fully loaded and had an MSRP of $69,710. The agreed upon price was about 5% off, so the purchase price was $66,274.

My Adjusted Cap Cost is$68,869.19 and Residual is $42,523.10. If I am correct, I believe that (Adjusted Cap Cost + Residual) *MF is what is used to calculate the interest? If this is correct, when I work this backwards and solve for the MF that was used in my lease, I come up with a number much higher than most of the current MF's that have been listed in my region.

Assuming my calculations are right, I took the total Rental Fee from the paperwork ($9,985.47), and divided that by my 36 month term to get my monthly interest. Then used the monthly interest to solve for the MF (which is completely unknown since the dealer would not/could not tell me). If I calculated everything correctly, I am coming up with a MF used in my lease that is closer to 0.00249. Does this sound like I am on the right track? I want to make sure I know what I am talking about when I speak to the dealer again about how my lease was calculated. I assume someone at the dealership has to know the MF numbers Audi has available and uses for contracts. Maybe they try to hide these numbers from consumers, I don't know?

He lied to you. Since the dealer can mark up the rate, they have to know the base rate, even if it's pre-loaded into the program.

If you signed the deal and took delivery, then that's it.
