Got a quote from a dealer and wanted to see if this is a good deal.. SQ5 prestige on a 36/12k lease, MSRP of $68,385 and the best that they say they can do is $869/month (includes tax) with Audi care and $400 drive-off with the complimentary first payment. I am thinking about taking the offer, thoughts...?

    What state?
    What trim?
    What adjusted cap cost?

Not enough information to tell you if this is a good offer, or not...
Sorry. State is FL , trim is Prestige, MSRP is $68,385, adjusted cap cost is $63,900 with Audi care included. I just need to pay the registration and the doc fee which is $400 (Complimentary first month payment).
    .00183 and 62% (63% with AudiCare)

With those prices, $792/mo plus tax - $847/mo if the tax rate is 7%. ($774 or $828 with AC)

Does the adjusted cap include both the acquisition fee and the steep Florida dealer doc fee?

The quote that I got lacks a lot of info, need to go in to the dealership tomorrow to get more clarity.

Thank you! I am really lost with lease prices. Happy New Year!

15% off MSRP is one heck of a deal. I just got off the dealership myself and pulled the trigger as I thought the deal I got was a pretty good one. I will give my break ups and maybe you can learn from that and calculate the monthly payments yourself. My deal was

    State: FL
    Trim: SQ5 Prestige
Color: Matador red metallic (love the color btw)

    MSRP: 65,835

Selling price: 63145 (around 7.5% off)

Total Cap Cost: 66,424. The break down for this is 63145+895 (Acquisition)+899(doc fee for FL- one of the only reasons that it sucks to live in FL as the doc fee is the highest in the country)+869(Audi care)+661(Excess wear-i went for this as it gives a bit of leeway on the mileage as well as don't have to worry too much about always parking next to an empty slot (worried about the dings)=66424. The cap cost is important as it figures prominently in the calculation. If possible, try to pay the acquisition fee and the doc fee upfront so that it will bring your monthly payment down a bit.

Cap reduction Discount: 583. This discount would bring the cap price down, but please be advised that you will have to pay tax on it. If possible, ask the dealer to include the cap reduction in the selling price. I kind of saw it late and was too tired to haggle anymore.

Discounted Cap cost:65841, which is 66424-583

Residual : 43082.55, which is 63% for Prestige trim 12k/36 with Audi care. I believe the premium plus is 63% also for 12k/36 but without Audi care. BTW, the residual is always calculated off the sticker price not the selling price. So in my case, it's 63*68836/100=43082.55

Depreciation amount: 22758.45, which is 65841-43082.55=22758.45

Rent charge (AKA money factor monies): 7175.88 and the formula for this is (cap cost+residual)*moneyfactor*term. So, in my case it would be (65841+43082.55)*0.00183*36=7175.88

Total payment amount: 29934.33, which is depreciation+Rent charge

Monthly payment without tax: 831.5, which is 29934.33/36=831.5

Monthly payment with tax: 58.2 (7% FL-might differ with county)+831.5=889.7

I paid only the taxes and the registration upfront as the first month was covered by Audi.

Hope this helps and throws some light on the mysterious lease calculations. I wish i could have haggled more, but no buyer remorse as I love the car, especially the exterior color.

If you can afford the monthly payments, i would say go for the 15% off deal as it's really hard to find Audi dealers who would deals like that, but please be careful that they don't hide any other prices anywhere else as some shady dealers do and for that, you can use the above as a guide.

You really have to watch out for Florida dealers. It's not unusual for them to add $2000 of extra charges that you wouldn't see in other parts of the country. Along with marking up the money factor. So, what seems like a big discount turns into a crappy lease deal.

It's instructive that you have those numbers, but didn't tell us the payment or the amount due at signing?

Sorry, i just realized that there were a lot of typos in my previous post with respect to dollar figure, attaching the deal that I got:

MSRP is 68,386 and drive-off was $400, pretty happy with the deal. I would have been a bit more happier if in addition to this deal, they had paid off my pending 4 month payment of my previous Lexus lease but cannot complain.

Still, looks good, given the lease program you have to work with.

Thought I’d post my deal to help others...Premium +, MSRP: 62,675, selling / agreed upon price: 55,154 (12% off), .00183 MF, 65% residual (includes addl 1% for Audi Care), 36/10k mile lease.

I have to say that I usually feel dirty after and during the dealing with the finance manager to sign the paperwork because they always try to get you to sign stuff quickly without going through all of the numbers and details of the contract. It’s an opportunity where they can change the numbers on you or tack on small fees ($100 here, $50 there, etc).

12% off is a strong discount. Add to that the base MF, and you have yourself a pretty good deal.

    Congrats, and enjoy!

    Thanks, for confirming!

It seems to me that some dealers will try to show a high discount on selling price but then make up some of the profit on the back end by increasing the MF from the base...all without the buyer truly knowing or understanding.

Thanks, I guess this is a bit off-topic but, I was contemplating the 2017 RX350 F-Sport as Lexus has a great MF and I kind of liked the car plus I get my Loyalty bonus. I sat on it and the car (color and options) that I wanted got sold off the lot real quick (You snooze, you loose right). The higher residuals of the SQ5 might just offset the MF from Lexus plus SQ5 is a better car overall than the RX350 F-Sport IMO.

Yes, that is becoming a new tactic for luxury car leases. Ideally, you want the big discount AND the base MF.

I have a friend who test drove and SQ5, and I was able to ride along.

That is a sweet, sweet ride.

And, the outside of the RX just doesn't sit well with me. The SQ5 is just so much better looking.

But, Lexus sells every RX they can build, so it's popular with a lot of people.

    Hello,

My factory order SQ5 arrived last week. Going to Dealer to pick up next week. Just wanted to ask for an update on the current MF and residual for premium plus in NJ 36/12k. Thanks!

Will dealers adjust prices if MF moves from time of factory order to delivery?

    Thanks in advance!

Hello - can the moderators please provide the RV and MF for a 36m/15k lease in Maryland for a 2018 SQ5 Prestige. Can you also please confirm Premium Plus and Audicare each separately adds 1% to the RV? Are there any conquest offers from Audi? Almost leased a Lexus RX F-sport until I test drove the SQ5...Thanks very much!

Thank you! The SQ5 and RX are very different. I'm coming from a GS350 F-Sport, and going to an RX is a bit less engaging to drive for a "car guy", but the Lexus deals were great. Having driven the SQ5, it has the space/higher seating position of an SUV that I'm looking for, and is just as engaging, or actually even more so to drive. Thanks again!

Good day, I would appreciate the MF and RV for a 36m/10k lease in Colorado for a 2018 SQ5 Prestige with Audi care. Thank you.

    62% residual is correct for 36/12 w/AudiCare
    .00171 MF is base.

Using the base MF, your payment should be $1046/mo, with just the first payment due at lease signing.
The only way to explain their quote is a massive markup to the money factor. (probably using .00271)

The discount is okay.. 5% of MSRP
Not sure what's included in the "essentials" package, but typically these have little value.
$1995 for wheels? That's $61/mo. just for different wheels.

The problem with accessories like wheels/essentials is they don't increase the MSRP, so you are paying full price for those, even though you only use them for 36 months.

Subtract the $1995 and the $787, and get the base MF (.00171), and the payment is $964/mo., with just the first payment due at signing.

I bet you can live with the stock wheels.. ;)

I told them to remove dealer upgraded wheels  and put the wheels from factory. The dealer package are the following

    window tint
    paint protection door handles
    paint protection edge guards
    paint protection rear bumper

they want me to put 4500 down to get to the 900 payment. I guess I am getting screwed over correct?

    Yes.. screwed.

Even if you pay the $787 upfront (I guess you need tint in Texas), you should be able to get the $964/mo. with just $1750 due at signing.

They were using .00203 MF so I got them to do the .00171 and the residual was at 62% with audicare and they have the payments at 939.39 with 2k down It includes the first payment in the down payment.

That looks like a decent deal, then. A little better than $964/mo. with $1750 upfront.

You won't miss those wheels... ;);)
