What are the leasing numbers for a 5-Door Sport auto 36/12 in 11101?
    And a Touring as well?
    Much thanks!

    .00001 MF and 47%/55% residual on Sport/Touring
    $1780/$360 lease cash on Sport/Touring
Thanks a lot for this. Forgive my ignorance, but what's the point of such a low MF? Is this something you can realistically get from a dealer?
It represents the interest rate you pay on the borrowed money for the lease. The lower, the better - .00001 equates roughly to .024% APR. Pretty much free money.

As an example, the MF on my Jetta lease is .00005. For 36 months, the total amount of interest I am paying is just over $50.

What’s up with the dealer trying to give me .0005 MF when I have already told him I have elite tier 1 credit and an existing Mazda/chase lease in good standing. That’s a huge swing in payment!  Have a feeling he is trying to roll my drive off costs into the payment, then take my drive off costs up front again as a sort of down payment or whatever, and artificially bumping up the selling price.

If $22,802 is the selling price, $27,736 MSRP, i’m figuring the payment should be around $267/month. He’s got me at $301 plus over $1500 to drive off including first month.

Could you provide the residual value and money factor for a 2018 Mazda 3 Touring 4-door (no added options) Zip: 33437 36/10 and 36/12. Thanks in advance!

Dealer can mark up the MF as much as .00050 for extra profit.

Thank you! Surprised the residual is 46% while it was 63% when I started my 2015 Mazda 3 lease at a similar price point. Looks like it loses a lot more of its value these days.

They just put the incentives in a different place. I doubt your 2015 depreciated any differently than the 2018. They put an artificially high residual on it, to lower the payment and sell cars.

The new one gets it's incentives upfront, and virtually free finance charges

Ooof, understood. Is there anything forcing them to stick to the appropriate MF as listed here? Or do I just keep shopping around until I find someone decent? I have E-Plan pricing which is why I assume they are already taking a bath on the deal and trying to retain some sort of profit. Maybe no one will give me a reasonable money factor in that case?

Judging from some of the other posts it looks like maybe the Touring is a much better choice this month, if I am willing to forgo the lane keep alert/assist. $2260 vs $1780 on the GT. Does the 4% residual really kick things back the other way in your opinion?

Nothing forces the dealer to use the base MF, other than your stubbornness to give in to the higher rate.

Shop as many dealers as you are willing to travel to; only takes one to make a deal.

I'm curious to hear people's experience with the loyalty reward. On their website, it states "$500 for current Mazda customers who purchase or lease a new 2017, 2017.5, 2018 or 2019 Mazda vehicle...Expires: 7/2/2018."

I'm looking to lease a new Mazda3 around 7/8. Financially I'd prefer to wait until then to sign the lease but if this is a regular loyalty reward that always expires on 7/2 and doesn't renew for the rest of the year, I think it makes sense for me to sign the lease prior to 7/2. I suspect that this is just a random date and a new loyalty reward will go up with an expiration at the end of 2018. But does anyone know for sure based on previous years?

7/2 is when the lease program ends.

Yes... there is almost always lease loyalty, but of course, that is no guarantee.

Hi - looking in to helping my aunt get in to a lease for a Mazda 3. I don't want her being taken advantage of at the dealership again, so I did a bit of research on my own. It has to be an automatic four door, and it seems like the Sport is the best bet. 10,000 a year and a 36 month lease. The lease factor and residual are what the dealership stated. 0 down. Here's the numbers I came up with:

    EMJ441
    MSRP 20,235
    43.00% Residual
    .0001 Lease Factor
    Lease End Value - 8,701.05
Selling price listed on website - 18,383
-$1,900 "Mazda Customer Lease Support" listed on mazdausa.com
-$500 "Mazda Loyalty Reward Program" for being a current mazda owner listed on mazdausa.com(she'll be trading in a mazda 6 she overpaid for, but I think making that a separate issue would be a better idea)
    =
    $15,983
    - 8,701.05
    = 7,281.95
    / 36
    = $202.27

Am I correct? Am I missing anything? The dealership is stating that it would be $298/mo with taxes included, though that was just when I inquired about the lease factor and residual on the vehicle and I don't think they included any of the incentives.
    Thanks a ton in advance.

I would check if the $18,383 advertised price includes some purchase incentives that aren't compatible with a lease, or if that is just the dealer discount.

Your calculations do not take into account the acquisition fee ($595) any dealer fee or other costs.

Ask the dealer for the 'adjusted cap cost' they used for their $298/mo quote, and how they got to that number from the selling price.

Also, be aware the dealer can mark up the MF as much as .00050 (which they often do).

here's the breakdown I have arrived at for my E-Plan deal, would love if someone can verify my line of thinking.

Mazda 3 Grand Touring w/Premium Package
    Hatch, Automatic
    MSRP; $27,735
    Selling Price; $23,552
    Rebates; $2,530 ($360 + $1420 + $750)
    Westchester 10530 Sales tax @ 7.735%
    Doc Fee; $399
    Acq. Fee; $595

basing lease off of confirmed agreed plans of
    MF; .00001
    Residual; 50%
    36 months/10K miles

I've got $265 monthly with $1,876 up front. As per the advice earlier in the thread, I should only pay first month and DMV up front. Just want to make sure as I roll the doc fee and taxes (can I even do that in NY) into the lease that they can't mess with the numbers at that point.

Honestly, though I can afford it, probably a bit more than I'm interested in paying for a second car. But I've also got a warped sense of what cars go for nowadays. Is this a screaming good deal, or should I consider dropping down to the Touring trim?

The Touring trim, while less expensive, has fewer incentives on it, so the payment will likely be the same. The GT is a pretty loaded car for that price.

One note - we recently learned that if you roll the tax into the lease payment in NY, it actually gets taxed a second time. So - for New York State only - we suggest you pay the taxes up front.

Thank you for this added advice about the sales tax. Will bite the bullet and pay it up front. Still debating if I should roll the doc fee in but that's only like a matter of $11/month difference so not making a huge difference either way.

Sharing my math for a car payment on a Mazda 3 sport automatic if anyone can check this and see if this is actually a proper deal. Can anyone lend their thoughts?

MSRP: $21,090 (with preferred package including destination fee)
    Cap Cost: $18,588
    Amount below invoice: $1,500
Cost of car after rebates: $15,578 (I'm eligible for the $750 lease loyalty and salesman said this is inclusive of all rebates I can get)
    Residual: 46% (36/10K)
MF: .00001 (they did not inflate it)

Payment per month (36 month term): $200 flat (in addition to $1,105 upfront fees + first month payment).

Is this a good deal? He said this is the lowest he can do (lower than employee pricing) and doesn't seem bothered if I don't accept this offer.

I get $164/mo before tax with those numbers.

What state and tax rate is this? Can you confirm the adjusted cap cost of $15,578?

NJ at 7% tax. The cost of the car is $18,588 and maybe the $15,578 is the cost of the car at the end of the term and depreciation (and said the loyalties I can get is about $2,100 or $2,200 total including mazda lease loyalty). Does this sound right? He said anything in the $190 range isn't doable.

The residual is 46% of the $21,090 MSRP

$200/mo is a good payment. What does the $1105 up front consist of?

    Michaell,

Are the current residual and MF the same for a Grand Touring?
Currently have a 2007 MZ3, so I have a card for a $500 loyalty reward. What other incentives are there out there?
    Zip 10601

    Thanks

The MF is .00001, not .00010.

I calculate $260.65/mo with the correct MF.

Hi Michaell, thanks for the help in the Golf board, I couldn't make the numbers work for what I was willing (wife hated the car, so I had to try "new math" for a miracle and that didn't work). For Mazda I'm more willing to spend more.

May I get MF and RV for 2018 5-door hatchback touring at 36/15k in NJ?

Also, if I may ask, how is the lease cash factored in? Is it factored in the negotiated price or the MSRP or invoice? .
