I was asked for $1,000 down, I was told $157 were for down payment and the rest for the first payment.

If I add $1500 for acquisition fee and DMV, then I get a payment of $779/mo+tax.
What was their quote? $843/mo? That looks pretty close

Yes!! That was the exact payment.  Was it a good deal or was I taken in for a ride?  I feel it was too much money

    Seems decent to me

Met with dealer saturday to finalize my X5M order with deposit down

    MSRP $113,895
    $1000 lease credit
    Sale price $105,661
    Res Value 59%
    36/10 term
    9.25% sales tax
$1591.03 monthly based on .00206 MF . I know from you current MF is .00166 for X5M.
How to convince them to get me better MF. They told me ''we are getting you the car at invoice and have to make a tiny bit something'' and this something is obviously the Money Factor.

Let me know your thoughts guys
Also let me know what monthly you are getting with those numbers and base .00166 MF please!

What is the amount due at signing?
What is the adjusted CAP cost?

My lease is up on my X5 end of August. I've been approached to get out of my lease early because June is end of quarter. Not sure if I should wait until August for a 2018, (2019 will be coming out and are redesigned so I'm hoping the prices on 2018 will go down) I have been getting 7k-8.5k off MSRP without much haggling Advice? I'm in New York

Sorry.. we don't track pricing. Read back through this discussion and see what others are getting.

    2018 or 2019? That's a subjective choice on what's important to you.
Getting a 2018 is going to be substantially cheaper, I'd guess

The end of the quarter is not that significant to a car dealer.

I get $778/mo, before tax, with those numbers.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer - might be some fees and such added in, which is increasing the payment

I just started my search for a X5 S35 in Space Gray with most options. Being that there are a ton of BMW dealers in Califoirnia and close by and the the 2019's are going to be new you would think these guys would try to work a deal?

Anyway since I am in San Diego I decided to start with 1 of my local guys just for fun.

    Here is what I got:
    MSRP-64335
    discount-6650
    Selling price- 57684
    rebates-2000
    total cap reduction-340
    mf-.00206 (lol)
    resid .56
    payment 812 wtax- 875

    this is a 36/15k in 92118
Besides the crazy inflated MF , where else did he pump?

I am thinking I should be able to get these cars for well under 700/mo
    thanks

You're at 10% under MSRP on a new BMW, so not a lot of additional $$ to get there. Looks like your rebates were used to pay your DAS charges, so you don't get the benefit of them in your lower monthly (but that is just an illusion...you are paying less at signing versus less over the term of the lease). Really you can just get the MF down to the base rate and make sure your dealer is giving you credit for all possible fleet etc rebates (college you graduated from, for example...I just got one for my college even though I graduated a long time ago). Also get a 3-year membership in the BMW CCA for a post-signing $1000 rebate for an X5 (the membership will cost you $137 so a net benefit of $863). https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate

Base money factor would drop the payment by $41/mo.

So, I don't see you going under $700/mo. That's just the math.
The deal with the base MF would be pretty good.

Dealers can't really cut pricing for anticipated arrival of new models, unless the manufacturer adds incentives. Their costs are their costs.

thank you Kevin for that info.I will have to admit that I am a little surprised that there isn't any more room off on these 2018's with the new X5,X7 and lot of inventory out there you would think there would be more incentives and "deals" . I am sure they will coming down the pike shortly. I just signed up for the 3 yr club membership-thanks now I am commited :) . Also on the Grad program, can I use my wife's college(yes I am a college drop out lol) . If anyone knows also , I am thinking about a demo car also, there are a lot of them around. do these programs apply to them too? thanks

Yes, you can lease a demo vehicle, but there will be an adjustment to the residual based on how many miles it has. Try to find one under 5000 miles.

If you find one, we suggest you target 12-15% off MSRP as the selling price.

How to take advantage of that college rebate? Are you referring to the college grad program, thought it was only for recent grads (within past 2 years) and they require proof of that timeframe??
  • kevinmr2000kevinmr2000 Member Posts: 7
No - I got "fleet" rebate based on my diploma from my college. Dealer in Southern Cal was the first to ask me where I graduated. Had to send a picture of my diploma to get it. Came on top of Loyalty incentive. I graduated 30 years ago, so no recent grad!

Hi, is this a decent deal for the X5 sDrive35i 10k/36month in 90621 zipcode

    MSRP $60645

Selling Price : $50300 ( after all the discount)

    Total out of Pocket: $1500 ( first month + doc/dmv fee )

    Monthly Payment : $599 + tax (7.75%) for a total of $645/month.

According to the calculator, i think they mark up the MF. But is it reasonable given their discount?

    Thanks

    .00166 MF and 59% residual
    $2000 lease credit

Assuming the sale price already includes the rebate, and adding the $925 acquisition fee, then I get $573/mo.+tax.

So, yeah... looks like a money factor markup... probably to .00196.

It's reasonable... But, that markup adds about $1000 to the total cost of the lease.

Looking at leasing the X5 40e PHEV.
Assuming standard BMW MF 0.00166 ?
What is the residual for 12k/year - 36 months ?
What are the lease incentives (Loyalty, PHEV credit, federal tax credit)?
Who gets the federal $4,668 credit - BMWFS ? Does the customer get credit ?

Looking at leasing the X5 40e PHEV.
Assuming standard BMW MF 0.00166 ?
What is the residual for 12k/year - 36 months ?
What are the lease incentives (Loyalty, PHEV credit, federal tax credit)?
Who gets the federal $4,668 credit - BMWFS ? Does the customer get credit ?

    58% residual and .00166 MF
    Federal credit goes to BMWFS

    What ZIP code?

Ah yes I made an error in the MF.  Do you think this is a fair/good/very good/excellent offer?  Am I being too greedy to ask for an extra $1000 off the selling price?  Thank you again.

I thought the acquisition fee is standard $925, non-negotiable? If so, then acq fee plus 1st month payment alone comes out to over $1500, not sure how that works. Did they roll some fees into the lease?

Don’t have the sign off fees breakdown yet as my broker is working on the deal.  Will let you know when I find out.  Other than that price and monthly look like it’s fair?

    duca0915,
The adjusted cap cost has some fees in this amount. By virtue of the acquisition fee being $925 and monthly $788, you are only putting down $1500. There is often a dealer fee or prep fee in your adjusted cap cost. Look at incentive and rebate to see if more money is available to you. Does your company have a corporate affiliation with BMW?
